The house was exactly the size we imagined. It was in a nice part of Princeton where you could still walk everywhere. It had all the needed supplies for us to stay there for a week. I’d stay there again if we were in town.
We came to the area to visit family and wanted to stay within walking distance of shops and restaurants on Nassau street. The house was small and cozy, clean and ready for use. We had a great stay and the location was great. I only wish the weather had been better!
Pros:
The location of the property is excellent. It is located within short walking distance of several restaurants and a café. It is about a half mile from downtown Princeton and just a few blocks further to the Gates of the University.
The inside of the house is charming, particularly the downstairs.
The house was spotlessly clean and for the most part the kitchen was well stocked (lots of spices, could’ve used a few more utensils - )
Excellent shower, comfortable beds
The manager was responsive to messages and very pleasant and easy to deal with
Cons:
You should be aware of the rental is a duplex, not the whole house. It is not a huge problem and we were not bothered by the neighbors but I was not aware of this from the listing
The backyard area is a little rundown, the house on one side has a very dilapidated carport and to the other side is a small shotgun and cottage in very poor condition, which happens to be a historic site Of an early church from the 1930s.
The upstairs bedrooms are VERY small and there are no dressers or places to put clothing or suitcases other than the floor and one closet in each room.
All in all we enjoyed our stay and it was an excellent spot from which to move my daughter into her first year of college!
This property, on all levels, was disgusting. I wish I could give it zero stars, because the accuracy of what was listed and what the end result was, was just... I can't even comprehend. Spent five nights, six days, every part of even the check-in process and communication, none. Sat on the porch for 30 minutes before a new property host engaged. When first opening up the door, smelled an overwhelming smell of abandonment. It's almost like somebody had died in the property. Unfortunately, washer-dryer was not accessible, because I immediately wanted to wash all the bedding when I was unable to do that. I had to single-handedly wash every dish, just for the smell that came off all utensils and silverware. Additionally, the dishwasher was non-operational and with no drainage at all, so a smelly water smell radiating from it. To top it off, in the bathroom, the shower curtain was so loose, it fell and landed on my head. I did chuckle a little bit when it happened the day later with my son, and I heard it crack off his head and make a loud noise. The outside area, the patio area, weeds and everything growing up. The abandoned house right next door within arms length. On all levels, this was the worst experience I've ever had renting a property.
