About the host
Hosted by Richard Reeves

Hi There,
I'm Richard your host and caregiver to my elderly parents. Previously I lived in Melbourne working as a Business Development Manager within the technology sector. During my years I have lived in the UK specifically Cambridge where I completed my MBA & managed to travel all around Europe.
My nickname is crazy cat as I love doing spontaneous crazy things like running with the Bull's in Pamplona, Spain and competing in rigorous cycling events like 3 Peaks in Falls Creak.
Being a host has given me great joy as I love sharing my two beautiful properties with my guests & thus far have been very fortunate to have had a very positive experience.
Looking forward to hosting your next holiday getaway for business travels.
Kind Regards,
Richard

Why they chose this property
Apart from the fact my mother is originally from Launceston it is a special place in Northern Tasmania. Known for its blend of natural beauty, rich history and vibrant culture, it's the largest city in the north, a UNESCO City of Gastronomy, and the gateway to the Tamar Valley, a region famous for its cool-climate wines.
Launceston also boasts a thriving arts and events scene, a diverse community, and easy access to outdoor adventures like Cataract Gorge and the Tamar River.

What makes this property unique
Our beautiful Penthouse apartment is centrally located which puts us in walking distance from all of Launceston's local attractions, and points of interest such as the dAda mUse across the road or Bluestone Bar & Kitchen downstairs.
If you like to get outdoors and enjoy a bit of fitness may I suggest a walk along the Zig Zag track to the Cataract Gorge Reserve & do a few laps of the public pool. The National Automobile Museum of Tasmania is just across the bridge if your into Cars & Bikes.
Fun for the whole family can be enjoyed at the Penny Royal Adventures which provides a village experience for everyone from history-themed boat rides to ultimate cliff adventures such as cliff jump, zip lines and cliff walk. There are also multiple Bars, Restaurants and attractions like panning for gold & ghost tours.
Personally my favourite bar in Launceston is Saint John Craft Beer Bar just a short walk along the street where you can enjoy 18 taps with the best of International, Australian and Tasmanian craft beer. Kitchen is open daily Lunch: 12:30-3pm Dinner: 3:30-9pm.
Cataract on Paterson (again just a short stroll down the road) is a great casual bar, real trend-setters when it comes to cocktails but also great to relax with a beer or tasty G&T. Great view of the Tamar from the fringes of the CBD.
If you like wine may I suggest joining the daily Tamar Valley Wine Tours operating all year round from 11am to 6pm a roundtrip from the hotel including 4 vineyards, and lunch with wine. Comes highly recommended, meet new people while tasting wine enjoying lunch & visiting great locations.
Finally Mudbar is only 650 metres away. This contemporary restaurant & bar is located within the marina precinct with stunning waterfront views. It is also a great spot for a relaxing beer or cocktail.
There are many other adventures & activities like mountain biking. Roll Cycles 1.2kms away have all types of bikes to rent + tours to book like Blue Derby St Helens to name a few.
