The host was amazing!! The view was great Once I contacted regarding missing an iron there was one there the next dayThe host very nice I suggest new pillows, the back deck updated and treating for carpenter ants.I also highly recommend a reap step system be installed to the water. The bricks shift as you walk on them Also it would be helpful to label the switches for the living area and outdoor lights. The kayaks/life-vests were greatA nice place just in need of TLC

The host was very accommodating and the amenities were very good. The only problem was the front door latch was hard to push down and made the door difficult to open.

2/10 Terrible

Don’t rent this house

Terrible. The bedroom in the back did not have windows that open! The sheets were thin and towels the same. The two items called pillows were pathetic, flat. The second bedroom also did not have a windows that opens! A lake house without windows that open. The outside was filthy, nails sticking up on the steps, debris everywhere on patio and broken branches all over the grounds. The handrails were covered with splintered wood. No closets in either bedroom with scant space and few hooks to hand items. No hooks on the back of the bathroom door.

Thank you for your feedback. We'd like to clarify a few points for future guests. All of the home's windows do open, and we were not contacted during your stay regarding any difficulty operating them. Had we been made aware, we would have been happy to assist. We also did not receive any reports about the outdoor areas. The property is professionally landscaped on a regular schedule, though as a lakefront home, occasional fallen branches or natural debris can occur between visits due to weather. Regarding the pillows, sheets, and towels, we understand that comfort is subjective and that bedding preferences vary from guest to guest. While we're sorry they did not meet your personal expectations, they are consistent with what is provided at the property. We appreciate your feedback and are always happy to address concerns during a guest's stay whenever possible.

The pictures do not reflect the current state of the property. THE WINDOWS DO NOT OPEN--and even if they did there are no screens-- AND THERE IS NO SCREEN/STORM DOOR ON THE FRONT DOOR. The house smells very musty and there might be something rotting in the kitchen area. Could not find the source of the odor. The grounds are not maintained and the deck and front porch need maintenance--power washed, scraped, and sealed--and some repairs are needed. The waterfront yard (back of house) is overgrown, the firepit is not functional (filled with weeds and ashes to the top). I did not contact the host because these are things that need to be dealt with over time. She wasn't going to send someone over to replace the windows for us! The house is in a nice location, tucked away, but still close to the 'center' of town. We also took a couple of day trips to Burlington and Montreal. So there's that. I have a whole list of other stuff that I will be sending to the host in an email. I realize the host is not the owner and cannot correct everything, but some of the things fall to the host. Also, the access to the water is poor and the water right in front is only for fishing...but that is not on the owner or the host. It's just the nature of the lake. In good faith,I can only give it a 2 star rating and I have stayed a several vacation homes over the years. You know, everything is online today and when you book something, you have faith that it is as advertised. This wasn't.
