I arrived in the evening and had some difficulty retrieving the key from the key box. The building is an old 70’s style and has 3 flights of stairs on the outside and on the inside - I had to get up 3 flights of stairs with my luggage (I was returning from OS) no lift available - long hall way of units on entry - got to my unit opened the door and first thing I noticed was horrible smell that I couldn’t pinpoint - next was how noisy it was - I felt like I was trying to sleep in the main road. Oven wasn’t working (sign on it) but no pre notification of that - I was staying with my young son and needed a full kitchen.
Bed was lovely and towels were great - only reason I managed to sleep through most of the noise was because I was jet lagged. Blind in kitchen is missing the adjuster that opens and closes the blinds - the cord to raise and lower blinds was broken - blind blades were bent up - whole thing needs replacing. Had a couch that looked ok - was small - sat on it with my son and immediately realised it’s not a comfortable cuddle up type couch - it’s rock hard and tiny. Bathroom was just ok - have to close the door to prevent some road noise - sitting in the toilet my knees were up against the shower door (I’m 178cms) shower itself dribbled it wasn’t a good refreshing shower I was hoping for.
Also lots of noise from units around it - both from the elow level and from units in the hallway. I contacted the agent the next day and asked to be moved.
