This house was built in 1941, and has been in my family for 81 years (it is the childhood home of my stepfather, “Dr. Flamingo” - the flamingo theme is a tribute to him).
My property was completely remodeled now featuring: -A new kitchen w/ all new appliances, -2 brand new bathrooms, -Sound insulated windows throughout the house, -All new plumbing, -A new electrical panel. -A new heating/air conditioning system (**refrigerated air & NOT a swamp cooler, as my guests comfort is my #1 priority).
*This amazing property is historical BUT fully updated, lessening the likelihood of any annoying issues during your stay.
Casa Flamingo also received a gorgeous exterior makeover, including new stucco, artistically colored concrete, and beautiful landscaping in the front and backyard.
My home was designed and decorated with a Southwestern vibe, featuring plastered walls painted in warm desert tones, local Native American artwork, pottery, and Mexican serape's. If you want to “feel” like you are staying in New Mexico, this is the authentic Southwestern house for you!
I’m constantly reinvesting in my property, adding decor, fun “touches” and amenities to elevate my guest’s experience. My home is most often described as: comfortable, peaceful, inviting, beautiful, and most important CLEAN. Casa Flamingo has a ton of character and personality- I hope you love it as much as I do.
APD vehicles are parked on the street, right next to my home - Officers with the Albuquerque Police Department live next door (talk about feeling safe!!!). I also have 2 security cameras on the roof of my home, facing the street & driveway (NO cameras inside, nor in or facing the backyard).
The entire home, the large fenced in backyard and a 2 car driveway are available to guests.
The home features a key less entry keypad and deadbolt, for easy self-checkin. I will provide the door codes around noon on the day of your arrival. I am available during your stay, and more than happy to answer questions, simply message me through the site. I'm minutes away and can be here if I am requested/needed otherwise, I will not bother you.
Netflix (my account), and antenna channels, are available on all 4 TVs throughout my home (in addition to Samsung Smart TV channels in the living room).
I provide a Cuisinart coffee pod machine (as well as a regular coffee maker), with an assortment of Kcups, sweetners, creamer, and teas.
Children are welcome and I have a few amenities, as well as electrical outlet covers, but my home is NOT “child proofed” (though I’m more than happy to move decor if requested to). Caution Areas: - I have 2 steps going down to the laundry room, and to the EnSuite bedroom. - I have cacti, and yucca plants in the front, and in the backyard, as well as an agave plant. Please be sure your little ones avoid these small but prickly plants (touching them will hurt). Renters assume full responsibility for the safety of their children when staying on the property.
I have smoke and carbon monoxide alarms throughout my home, as well as a first aid kit, and a fire extinguisher (both under kitchen sink).
*LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION* Casa Flamingo is 6 miles from the airport and located in Nob Hill, near UNM school/hospital, Pope Joy, Presbyterian, State Fair Grounds, & The Downs Racing. Trendy Nob Hill centers on the iconic Route 66, featuring a concentration of diverse locally owned restaurants, within an eclectic shopping district. You will find beer pubs, antique shops, small galleries, a CoOp, and unique boutiques lining Central Ave (Route 66).
Ask any local and they will tell you, Nob Hill is a highly sought after area, and it’s where you want to stay in ABQ. Even cooler, my home is located in the “College View Historic District”, a quiet, safe, and culturally significant area, within Nob Hill. This special district is a 4 block x 4 block section of homes boasting historic examples of Territorial and Pueblo Revival styles, as well as early classic Mediterranean. The neighborhood is established, charming and quiet with a walk score of 85 “very walkable”. A Humble Coffee shop, and Los Cuates, are just a few of the many restaurants within walking distance, along with bars, shops, and stores just a few blocks away. I provide a notebook containing my food recommendations including, 3128 Social House, and Tia B’s La Waffleria as well as fun souvenir shopping at “Masks y Mas”. A gorgeous historic Catholic church is located just down the street and a police officer lives next door - you will feel very safe here.
**NO HOT TUB/WHIRLPOOL HERE (this website is glitchy & will not allow me to remove/update the info!!!). This is a beautiful, newly remodeled home, located in one of the best neighborhoods in the city - you will love the Casa Flamingo 🦩 experience.

We had a wonderful experience at Casa Flamingo! It was immaculate, tastefully decorated, and had every amenity you could ask for. The location was great, within a nice neighborhood. We relaxed each evening on the back porch overlooking the expansive backyard with accent lighting.
Our host made us feel very welcome and responded quickly to all of our questions. The house was conveniently located, a cozy living space and nicely furnished with many amenities including a lovely, relaxing outdoor seating area. We highly recommend our host and the home. If we travel to ABQ again, we would consider staying here again.
Cute house on a great block. The host was wonderful and very communicative. The house was perfect for our family who were visiting for the holiday. Someone left something behind, and the host was great about getting it returned to us. Definitely would recommend!
Wonderful stay! Our group of two adults and two teens enjoyed our stay. The home is perfectly clean and completely comfortable. The backyard and patio are an oasis. We travel to ABQ occasionally and I’ll definitely look to book here again.
Girls trip. We loved the house and outside space for morning coffee. Beds were great. Kitchen was extremely well equipped. A friendly house. Would definitely stay here again.
What a charming, cozy home! My nieces were visiting from Norway and we thoroughly loved the southwest decor. The home was spotless, with attention given to every little detail, including a persoanl note and welcome cookies left for our arrival. 12/10 would recommend and stay again.
This is our home away from home when we visit Albuquerque a few times a year. Aura is such a wonderful host. The house is clean and has many amenities--great little kitchen, comfortable beds, plentiful and fluffy towels, homemade chocolate cookies, great backyard, etc. Perhaps more than anything, though, the house is quintessential New Mexico with warm southwest decor and beautiful art. This house has character and is well-loved and cared for.
Whenever my husband and I visit Albuquerque, we stay at Casa Flamingo. The home is clean and cozy with a vibrant New Mexico vibe. Aura is an awesome host who takes pride in providing a welcoming experience for her guests.
One of best stays we’ve had anywhere - beautiful, spotless, and a truly wonderful warm and understanding host. We extended our stay! Great place w our 3 young kids - they loved the outdoor space.
Absolutely lovely we will be staying here when we come to Abq from now on. She made fresh backed cookies and the house was adorable inside and out in the back yard. Yard landscaping and lounge atmosphere in the back was to die for. Birds chirping and flowers .
This house was very charming, super clean and comfortable, with a great New Mexico vibe. We enjoyed an easy walk to a good nearby cafe. Aura was SO nice— just the perfect host, with great communication and helpful accommodations. We had a very early flight and the location is convenient to the airport. We will definitely stay again!
We had great time and the house is beautiful. There are lots of little details that make it homey and fun. Everything about the booking was very thought through from the warm greeting to an easy check out process. Looking forward to future stays.
Our future experiences at other stays may now be ruined! When I say every detail has been thought of, I feel it may be an understatement. Loved every minute here, and felt the love the owner takes in hosting. Highly recommend!
This house is very comfortable and cozy, and has everything you want. Great location, very well appointed, lovely yard, comfortable beds, wonderful little kitchen.
Wonderful property manager.
Our stay was incredible. Peaceful backyard. Great hospitality. We had a conference nearby but didn't want to stay in the hotel. This option was better than we even expected. Thank you.
Our family was traveling from Phoenix to Minnesota and needed a place to rest and relax. We found the perfect spot at Nob Hill.

About the host
Hosted by Aura Alzate
I'm an outgoing native New Mexican, who is half Colombian. I have a son, and I love to travel, to cook, and to host dinner parties for family and friends.
I worked in both Human Resources and in IT before getting my Masters degree, last year. After all that hard work I realized I was really dissatisfied with "corporate America" and needed a change.
A couple of years ago, I went on a family vacation across Florida, staying at multiple Airbnb's, and loved the experience. I decided I'd truly enjoy hosting and when the opportunity arose this year, I jumped at the chance (super bad timing because the pandemic hit shortly after ....but hey, that's life!).
I value quality customer service, cleanliness/hygiene, communication, and anticipating the needs of my guests. I want you to have an amazing, memorable stay at my home and to come back!

As a detail oriented, “single unit” host, Casa Flamingo is meticulously maintained. The house is regularly described as: comfortable, peaceful, inviting, beautiful, and most important CLEAN. This fun property has a ton of character and personality- I hope you love it as much as I do.
