Location was fantastic, for a family get away. Enjoyed ice fishing right out the back door. Nice quiet location, not far from town. Definitely plan on returning.
Nice little cottage on the lake. We went for an ice fishing trip. The owner was very helpful and so was everyone we talked to in the area. We had an excellent time!
Excellent location for a long weekend ice fishing trip. Cabin was simple and accurately described in the listing. This is perfectly located on the lake for great views. I can’t wait to book it for next years trip.
We loved it... The cabin is really nice feels like home.. we loved the lake and my kids caught some fish even they're just fishing by the docks. We are definitely going back for winter.
We enjoyed our visit! Great fishing and location on the lake. Was nice to be able to dock the boat right at the cottage. Boat launch is just around the corner. These cottages are small and could use some deep cleaning. Bathroom is very small. But overall it served it’s purpose. We would consider renting again.

Fish camp
If you are looking for a fish camp, this is it. The cabin wasn’t clean. The cabin water was not usable. The iron/ rust was overwhelming. It was warm and had cute decorations but needed a good cleaning service and water filtration system.
Although the property is set onbeautiful lakefront, the cabins are in deplorable condition. It appeared to have not been cleaned for a long time. There were cobwebs with dead spiders; a frying pan that was still greasy-dirty; a microwave that couldn’t even pop corn! Only 1/2 roll of toilet paper left to use & had to ask for more 2x, 2nd request ignored). We tried to get more @ the market, but they were sold out. 😡
In the area for an anniversary getaway, and found this reasonably priced cottage. First, everything we needed to know or that could have been an issue upon arrival was covered by the owner of the property long before we even left for the trip. The communication from the owners was exceptional and had us prepared for the visit. The location was wonderful, it was extremely quiet and peaceful. We went in the fall to catch the changing leaves in the area which were vivid, but if someone went in the summer the rowboat and paddle boat is a nice addition. With the boats and the playground on the property, I think this would be a great place for a family to visit.. The iron in the water makes it undrinkable and smells bad, but again they covered all of this before we arrived and we were prepared. Just make sure you bring your own water bottles. Very happy with our stay, and if we are on that side of the state again we will definitely book the cabin again!
We met the owner and he was a super nice guy. This is the perfect small cabin in the woods right on the water that’s perfect for a cozy getaway at any time of the year. Highly suggested! We hope to be back in the future
These cabins were clean and easy to get to and use. The door handle needed fixing and the shower was not great, but for the price it was exactly what you would expect. Make sure you bring your own linens cause that direction is at the bottom of the listing.
The property is just as it is described. Cabins were clean and tidy. The dogs were fun to have around. Alpena is close and offers shopping and restaurants. Took day trip to Mackinaw City and Cheboygan. Presque Isle is a nice afternoon trip. Apple Orchard by Rogers City was a nice trip for apple cider.
Excellent location on the lake. Rocky but nice beach, just bring your water shoes. Dock for parking your boat. Owner supplied paddle boat, gas grille and rowboat with oars. We were in one of the 3 cabins on property, neighbors we're friendly and pleasant to talk with. Fishing, boating, swimming, paddle boat, grilling, bonfires that's what it's all about. Well water had that smell, needs water softener - bring lots of bottled water.
Communication with owners great. Small quiet getaway for anyone who likes cozy and simple cabins. Lake had beautiful sun rises and sunsets. Even caught a few fish using their free paddle boats. Would rent from them again. Thank you Chet and Lauren
