The host was amazing and thoughtful. The house was well stocked and had everything we needed and more. There were a couple of opportunities to achieve five stars. Opportunity number one was the acutely uncomfortable beds that resulted in sleeping on the couch as a preference. The second opportunity was the lighting in the second bedroom. Besides these things, the stay was delightful and would most definitely recommend.
Excellent place to stay to experience this side of the island. Very well equipped and clean, feels like you are in a friends home. Is well off the beaten path but easy to find and on all paved roads, exactly what we needed.
Such a great little house , we loved how clean and cozy it was . They offered lots of miscellaneous items available to use we was beyond amazing, such a life saver. Would 1000% recommend and definitely be staying there again our next visit.
Everything we expected, even the serenading frogs. Stephanie, our hostess was always available when we had questions. Enjoyed our short visit with family. Mahalo
Stephanie is an amazing host, she is so helpful and responsive. Anything you need, she already provides and much more. The house is very clean and cute. beds are super comfy. Location is great, close to Volcano National Park and many other places and food.
Thank you so much, Stephanie, for your hospitality, we had wonder stays. Highly recommended!
Nice home with all the amenities you could ever need. Host had detailed instructions and information provided throughout the home. Replied quickly and always made sure it was a worry free experience.
Overall, our stay was very pleasant. The house worked out great for us. The only thing I will say, that surprised us a little, was that it had a catchment system (rain water) for the water supply. It wasn’t that big of a deal, they just recommended not drinking the water. Just would have been nice to know before we arrived.

Hi Dan. Thank you for your feedback on the house. I reviewed the message I sent you as a check-in guide and it does say that you can drink the water. It is on a UV filter system. My apologies if there was some kind of a misunderstanding, but we are happy you stayed with us and we were happy to host you…. You are always welcome back.

A house with restrictions
There are surveillance cameras all over the house, including the bedrooms! We were constantly monitored.

Aloha,
Sorry for the late reply.. I just saw this.. my apologies if you felt like there were. surveillance cameras. There are no cameras in the house.. we apologize if you felt this way…
The owner set up this house to make a nice vacation stay at an affordable price, we want everyone to be comfortable. And I believe the owners go out of their way to put everything in the house that you need for a beautiful Hawaiian vacation . We did have a motion detector in the master bedroom. The only time we would use this is to set the alarm in between guests, ..we ended up taking that out of the master bedroom, so there is no confusion to the guest.
There is a camera looking out towards the backyard and a camera looking out towards the street in the front yard. That is for your own safety and security while you are in the house.
The only time we would ever look at those outdoor cameras is the day of your arrival to make sure you arrived safely. Our apologies if you felt this way… thank you for staying with us and bringing this to our attention.
We arrived in Hilo during an unusually rainy time - yes - more rainy than usual!! We felt lucky to have such a cozy space to call our home to explore from. It was very well stocked and we appreciated all the towels as we spent most of our visit wet ha-ha! It is an easy drive to Volcano National Park and Hilo. The home has two FULL sized bedrooms with comfortable beds. We loved the frog chorus at night and we all slept so deeply/peacefully. Would definitely come back again!
This was a great place to stay! The owner was very responsive and kind. The house was mostly clean (behind the couches had some dead bugs and cob webs) and had all of the amenities we could have wanted! There was a fully stocked kitchen with pots and pans, plates and bowls, utensils, fridge, stove, oven, microwave, etc. There was also a TV in each room, oscillating floor fans, WiFi, washer, dryer, etc. There was also tons of stuff in one of the bedroom closets. We didn’t need most of it, but there were beach towels, snorkeling items, a cooler (perfect for taking lunch to the beach), etc. I was impressed by how well stocked this place was! There was also a lockable gate surrounding the property, so we felt very safe.We only had two minor issues. One was that the WiFi password sent to us was incorrect, but we later realized there was a post it note in the living room with the correct info. The second was the water. It’s rain water, and this may be fine for some, but we found the taste very unpleasant. We solved this easily by choosing to buy bottled water.
It feels like staying at a friend's home. The place was cozy but roomy enough for all of us. We were able to hang out in the living room and kitchen area or go to the bedrooms for privacy. They have all the basic amenities and more. We were out most of the time but did cook a small meal when you come home late and all places are closed. At night time you will get the occasional rain and I believe it is the frogs croaking, feels like you're in a tropical rainforest. There were a few geckos around the house but we never had any interactions. They mostly stayed hidden when you are around. They are suppose to be helpful insect eaters. Stephanie was awesome. She answered all our questions and made sure we were all situated. Check in and check out was easy. Thanks Stephanie for being a great hostess.
Loved the location and amenities. Larger bedroom had musty smell but probably due to alot of rain and thick forest around house. Quickly got used to frogs and missed them when they were quiet. My grandson (14) liked this house better than Marriott hotel with beach.
Stephanie was a wonderful host! The property was everything as described and more! Everything was VERY clean. Mahalo Stephanie for an amazing experience 🙂
