What makes this property unique
This tiny house offers a rare blend of thoughtful design, sustainability, and comfort in the heart of East Hawaiʻi. Built to maximize both function and relaxation, the space features a unique double-loft layout—one loft dedicated to sleeping and the other designed as a cozy media nook—allowing guests to enjoy distinct areas within a compact footprint.
Unlike many off-grid stays, this home balances eco-conscious living with modern conveniences. The kitchen is fully equipped with a propane range and oven, and the bathroom features an on-demand tankless hot water system and a luxurious rainfall shower. A clear glass vessel sink and easy-to-use composting toilet provide a clean, sustainable experience without sacrificing comfort.
The tiny house is supplied by rainwater catchment and thoughtfully positioned to embrace the surrounding Hawaiian rainforest. Guests can relax in their private outdoor space, enjoy meals at the picnic table, and fall asleep to the natural sounds of the forest—yet remain just minutes from Pāhoa, Hilo, and Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park.
What truly makes this property special is the balance it offers: peaceful and private, yet conveniently located; compact, yet intentionally designed; eco-friendly, yet comfortable. It’s an ideal base for travelers seeking a unique Big Island experience that feels both grounded in nature and carefully curated for a memorable stay.
