The Rescue Retreat! This lakefront cottage is located just off of Wisp Mountain Rd. Large, private deck offers expansive water views and a convenient gas fire pit! Private wooded lot that is good for any season. This retreat offers an open main floor plan with living room, kitchen & kitchen table. A comfy couch and dinner seating for 6. Large master bedroom with king bed and second bedroom (twin bed) upstairs. Lower level offers a large gathering room with a sleeper sofa and 3-in-1 game table. Bonus room (queen bed) and bathroom with washer/dryer on lower level.

Within close proximity to Wisp Resort, restaurants, local brewery, shops, grocery stores, mini golf, marinas, zip lines, state parks and more!

Perfect lakeside retreat

My wife and I stayed here with our dog and loved it! The deck is fully enclosed so we were able to leave our dog out sunning without any issues. Our dog was also able to enjoy swimming in the lake with the access right there. We were able to cozy up next to the fire pit and take in the beautiful views. The house was as advertised and Jess made the check-in process easy!

The house was very clean and bed was very comfortable. The location was good for skiing and hiking. Less than 10 minutes to Wisp Resort, and in 15 minutes to Swallow Falls Park.

Great getaway

We had a great time at the Rescue Retreat. Our pup loved the large deck and lounging in the sun. House is close to hiking trails and Deep Creek activities. We even saw a family of bears while driving out to the main road.

Place was great and fantastic view of lake

Great communication with owner. No joke about driveway, but having extra parking at top definitely helped. Super close to Wisp resort so back/forth was easy. Slept 2 adults and 4 boys (15-20) perfect. Not a lot of close space for dog to go to the bathroom, so had some walks up the driveway and down to the lake. Would be great to revisit during Spring-Fall to utilize the big deck and fire pit

Great stay

We had a great stay in deep creek. The location was great, host was very responsive and helpful when we had an issue. The handyman and workers that came out were very respectful of our space and belongings. Very cozy and clean!

Perfect for a couples getaway!

Winter wonderland! Beautiful neighborhood and home was cozy and had everything we needed. With 3 levels, it was set up perfectly with sleeping areas up and down with bathrooms and common area in the middle. Would have liked TV in common area and one more stool around bar. TV room on lower level with cozy wood stove. Driveway is steep, but well plowed so not an issue and there is parking available at the top if you prefer. Owner was very nice and communicated perfectly. It was a great stay!

Great snowy weekend

We enjoyed our stay quite a bit. The house is on three levels (steep stairs noted in other reviews are no joke!) with the kitchen/entry on the middle/main/walk in level. Decently stocked kitchen (bring your own dish soap and dishwasher pods!) Lake views were lovely - we got LOTS of snow while there - which meant we didn't get to use the fire pit. But we did grill one night and it was great to have access to that. master bed was VERY comfortable. It was great to have our dogs with us. And the homeowners were accessible and helpful. We hope to return in the summer!

We had a great time there. House was very clean. Dog loved the yard. FYI The house has steep (and slightly irregular) stairs, if that could be an issue.

Great views of Deep Creek Lake

The deck, lounge, and master bedroom all have magnificent views of the lake. Some of the appliances and beds are a little dated but still functional. The driveway is very steep and was unusable due to snow and ice but thankfully there are parking bays on the street. Wisp ski resort is a 5 minute drive and offers an array of activities, including skiing, snow tubing, and a mountain roller coaster. Overall, this property is highly recommended.

We got a work out three floors TV on the bottom floor .

Great view , beautiful deck with fire pit , it was great in the morning on the deck drinking coffee , overlooking lake . My dog got a work out Also .Just what the doctor ordered very relaxing .

Beautiful lakefront property

This was my first trip to Deep Creek Lake. Our family consisted of four adults and one teenager. We loved the outdoor setting of this place with a very large deck which is more conducive to warmer weather instead of colder. The guys did light up the fire pit on the deck a few times which was nice but still would have been more enjoyable during the warmer months. Now for the house itself - pros and cons. Pros: Very roomy and beautiful. Three different levels so you aren’t on top of one another. Gas fireplace in a separate living room downstairs with TV is great for a couple. Sectional sofa on main floor is very comfortable. Beautiful view of the lake from the main floor and upstairs bedroom. Cons: House is kind of sparse when it comes to furniture. There are no lamps in the bedrooms which would have been nice for reading in bed. It would have been more comfortable to have at least one chair in the main floor living room area so not everyone had to sit together on the couch. There wasn’t any type of coat rack for coats. Only one TV in the house (although we were knew this prior to renting so we brought one with us). Finally, our main goal was to get away for Thanksgiving knowing we could not do much because of COVID. This property afforded us the opportunity to be together in a beautiful locale that was pet friendly. The owner was very responsive to all questions and couldn’t have been more helpful.
