About this property

Oceanfront Sunsets in heart of Kona

Located on the oceans edge and in the center of Kona, sits this resort style condo with a bohemian feel, it has all the amenities on Alii drive. The condo has its own tidal pool to swim and snorkel and launch kayaks from when the waves are calm. Fishing from the shore is also allowed. A/c in livingroom and bedroom.

Beautifully landscaped and offers some of the best sunsets and ocean views. Our recently renovated condo/lanai sits directly facing the ocean. You can even sit inside on the couch and see the ocean from it, we make every attempt to NOT exaggerate the pictures. Relax with the pool, hot tub, ping pong or tennis. There is also a small library of shared books. The grounds itself is 5 stars... Think botanical garden.

The community BBQ grills are 20 feet from the ocean. Perfect placement! This unit has NO stairs to get to it, free parking and parking lot is 15 feet from the front door and condo is on ground floor. No stairs. .

Electric bike rental rack across the street and we are hoping the $2 trolley is back that picks up out in front of the condo. Internet search for most current info and schedule of trolley. It's less than 1 mile to the heart of Kona restaurants and bars, so walking is easily an option.

Need a coffee shop in the morning? Green Flash coffee is right next door.

King sized bed in bedroom, and it does have a pull out queen bed as well.

We don't need you to do much. It's a small place. Getting the sheets and towels in the washer is the main thing. Tossing leftovers out and taking the trash out is also helpful for smells.
Things to remember Pool keys back in kitchen Windows and slider keep open screens closed, lights, fans and ac off. Just be respectful of the space and have a good time.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Kona Makai is our favorite place to stay in Kona with its lovely grounds, beautiful view, and quiet ambiance - and this our second time returning to Micheal’s wonderful vacation home. Amazing view and lots of special touches - we could spend our entire vacation on the lanai with my favorite basket chair. AC in the bedroom makes for a comfortable nights sleep and well stocked kitchen has everything you need. We hope to return and highly recommend

The host is absolutely fantastic! Quick responses and does everything to make your stay comfortable and amazing. But nothing can beat the back lanai overlooking the grounds and straight to the ocean. Looked forward to every meal out there.

The unit had all of the things we needed to prepare our meals. Pots, pans and utensils. Ice maker was nice to fill our cooler daily. Air conditioner in both the living and bedroom worked great. Full sized washer and dryer as well. Sunset from the pool area is amazing!

The oceanfront sunsets at this property were spectacular! It was easy to communicate with the host, they were very responsive and helpful. My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous week long stay at this cute condo! Everything was clean and very comfortable, from the spacious bedroom to the lanai overlooking the gardens and ocean. If you want to cook your own meals, the kitchen is equipped with a stove/oven, plenty of pots, pans and utensils, and all the standard spices. We really enjoyed the communal effort to keep noise to a minimum, allowing you to enjoy the sound of the ocean and wind in the palm trees from the lanai and pool area. Overall a fabulous location, well appointed condo and beautiful view. We would definitely stay here again!

Had a great 4 day stay here. The home is clean and well stocked. Really enjoyed the time spent on the Lanai and beautiful sunsets. The kitchen was well stocked with whatever we needed to cook breakfasts and make coffee. The walk from the home to downtown Kona is easy - about a mile to shops and restaurants. Hosts were responsive and check in process was easy. Parking and getting in and out was no problem. Definitely recommend having a car ti enjoy the island. Very happy with our stay.

Excellent property, we loved it! This was a beautifully landscaped condo complex right on the ocean, right on Alii, a very nice location. The pool was great, ping pong was fun! The unit was clean, well appointed and had excellent internet and tv service. Parking and access were also great and convenient. We would definitely stay here again. It was a dream trip for us - stayed for a month in height of summer. Grand slam for us 2 old freedivers on Big Island!

Amazing stay

First time trip to Hawaii and we were very pleased with our booking. Easy parking, kitchen fully stocked, relaxing lanai with a gorgeous view, tons of beach equipment (chairs, cooler, towels, boogie boards,..), walking distances to beaches and shopping/dining places. Fans worked great, kept the place nice and cool!

Perfect place

The view from the lanai is truly gorgeous!! And the lush landscaping made it feel private even though it's surrounded by other condos. The pool, hot tub, and ping pong table down by the water were great. Our host was friendly and quick to respond to all our questions. Convenient location. We will gladly stay here again if/when we come back to the Big Island!
