Spacious home in good neighborhood
We stayed in this house for a week. My sister in law happened to rent a house just across the back yard for the same week. The owners were very nice. The house is quite spacious. It’s a simple house, kind of old and it did have a bit of a musty smell. Specially the back downstairs bedroom and the closet in there was not useable because of the smell. It is quite spacious but in need of updating. It did have pretty much everything we needed but maybe a bit too much stuff. I do believe the owners must live here when not rented. The yard was not well taken care of but it was large. One of the reasons we rented this house was because of the pool and the pool was not useable for the first 5 days of our stay. On the day we arrived Miriam, the owner, which happens to be a very nice person, was there cleaning the pool but it did nothing to make it better. We called them at least 3 times and told them they needed to get a professional pool guy in there but they kept trying to do it themselves. I called VRBO about it and sent them pictures but VRBO did nothing about it besides trying to contact the owner and never got back to us on the matter. Finally on the 5th day of our stay they called a pool guy who told them they didn’t have enough salt in the pool and they tossed some chemicals in it and told us not to use the pool until the next day. So, basically the pool was unusable almost to the end of our stay. The owner gave my husband an envelope at the day we left with a little bit of money to compensate for the problem with the pool but I don’t feel it was enough. The only thing that saved us from bothering them a lot more about the pool and get really upset about it was the fact that my sister-in-law’s rental had a really nice pool the we could use. In all we did have a good time during our stay. As I said the owners were very nice but I feel they should have done more about the pool situation.
