My battery went bad in my truck during my stay. The owner of the property helped me get my truck up and running. He let me use his tools and gave me a ride to get new batteries. 10/10 hospitality and communication!
Adorably furnished, good lighting, comfortable bedding and very clean. So many things well thought out but we noticed a couple of helpful things missing. We showed up late at night, tired and sweaty from unloading a truck of wedding supplies, only to find no soap or shampoo. We had to use the hand soap. Then step out onto a hard floor with wet feet and no bath mat. These small additions would be a huge improvement for a traveler. A water bottle in the fridge would also be a welcome addition. But we enjoyed it and would stay again!
Really nice place to stay when visiting TAMU if you want to be out in the country. Excellent outdoor spaces to enjoy the evenings. Also fenced in yard that's great for pets. Stayed in one of the sister cabins a few weeks before. Really enjoyed both stays.
My 13 month old son and had a great time staying in this cabin! The small room with the bed was perfect for my son to sleep in since it doesn’t have windows and could stay super dark for him. It was perfect for a weekend get away that was close to our family’s land.
Beds were very comfortable, great a/c in July, yard was perfect for our dogs, check-in/check-out was seamless and great breeze outside in the mornings and evenings - Will come back again!
Perfect place to stay for a weekend trip. Nice and private, and my dog loved the fenced in yard. Cooked food on the hot plate in the outdoor kitchen, worked great.

Our stay (December 29, 2022 - January 1, 2023)
Visited Caldwell with my wife and 2 (9/6 yr old) children to “get away” one more time before end of year. Check-in process was seamless and access to the property was simple. Inside was nice and clean, beds were comfortable and we slept our family of 4 with ease. The outside area was pleasant and the fencing was great to keep the dogs securely inside the large backyard.
The listing shows honest pics of the property. The only negatives to this property are that the WiFi was too spotty to enjoy watching/streaming a sports event, very few plates/cups/dishes/silverware/ condiments available to use, the house being too close to a busy thoroughfare, and security/outdoor lighting being intrusive.
One of the main reasons we chose this house was the outdoor bar area to watch all the end of year NCAAF Bowl Games. We asked the owner to reset WiFi which seemed to help, but every 5-10 minutes I had to exit out of any app I was streaming on and restart it to catch glimpses of the football games. The outdoor bar area is great for hanging out at during the day and cooking; during the evening there is a flood light (does not turn off) located on the house next door facing the outdoor sitting area (see pic), as well as the security camera/light on the opposite side (with motion-detected activation and having 2 dogs, this wasn’t visitor friendly). I tried placing a sock over the motion-sensored security light, but doing so notified the seller that I dismantled the entire camera system and an unnecessary phone conversation took place.
The beds were very comfortable, but the sound of the 18-wheelers going 70+mph on the road adjacent to the property are a constant throughout the night and you’ll want to be a deep sleeper when going down for the night.
We unfortunately made the decision to leave the property a day earlier than originally anticipated.
This cabin was cute and the amenities were as described. Inside was clean and beds were very comfortable. We played horseshoes and had a good time. Outside cooking area was good but not very clean. We didn't use it. I would recommend to a family for sure. It is on a busy highway, but inside it wasn't too loud. Nice stay.
We had an Outstanding Stay at the Caldwell Properties
Customer Services Top of The Class. Location could not have been better and the 2 unites we rented covered all the sleeping / outdoor cooking / Games / pets / fire pits
We had a Tiny House and the small Barndo which was Great.
