The setting was so peaceful and beautiful, the sound of the river was calming. The place is beautifully decorated and the kitchen was well supplied. A perfect getaway!
We really enjoyed our stay… Diane was extremely helpful, and the property is so peaceful. There is nothing better than sitting out on the deck and watching the river flow by. The dogwoods were blooming while we were there and they are just gorgeous. We used this as our home base for the Bristol weekend race and it couldn’t have been more convenient. Perfect size for my husband and I. Definitely recommend!
The Loft was by far the best place we have stayed. The pictures don’t do the home justice. It was immaculate and so comfortable. The back deck was the best listening to the sound of the river and seeing a blue heron standing on a stone in the middle. A hummingbird enjoyed nectar from the feeder with me right there. It love my The Loft tote bag! The hosts literally thought of everything including a notebook full of information. There are several great local places to eat. I highly recommend Laurel Fork, Dino’s, and J’s Corner.
This is an outstanding and well managed getaway property! We have visited several times to enjoy the calm beauty of the river and the many local interests of Elizabethton and Johnson City!
Clean, beautiful location had everything we needed paper towels toiletries, etc, and Richard and Diane were very welcoming and easy to communicate with.
The Loft is a wonderful place to stay. It overlooks the Doe River and beautiful mountains. The owners are very accommodating and friendly. We absolutely love staying at this place.
Clean and comfortable place as well as beautiful surroundings. We enjoyed fly fishing on the Doe river as well as fishing on Watagua lake , 30 min drive from the property.
The minute we opened the door to The Loft, we said "wow". It looked new, clean, well appointed and warm and inviting. We enjoyed the whimsical presence of friendly frogs in ceramic, porcelain, plastic and other colorful materials that were in every room to greet us. We loved that the kitchen had all the pots, pans, cups, glassware and china anyone would need, it had a barbeque on the big deck that had a very cushiony love seat and chairs as well as a dinette style table. We were only there for three nights and didn't cook, but we really enjoyed the Folgers Coffee pods and the Keurig coffee maker. The bathroom is really big and had a stacked washer and dryer set in a closet. It had plenty of towels and a spaceous shower enclosure. The attention to details is much appreciated. Our favorite thing about it was looking out the window, sitting on the deck or taking a walk to the edge of the property to enjoy the beauty and great sounds of a gorgeous flowing river with a hill behind it as a leafy green backdrop. I look forward to going back and sitting on a rock by the river with a hot cup of coffee. The back yard with a river view is incredible. Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Forsythe!
A lovely get away home. The decor is adorable and the little touches make for memorable discoveries. Everything is super clean and restful. The extra thoughtfulness of things like sugar and coffee that first morning and wood for the camp fire are thoughtful! I will recommend this stay to my friends!
Loved the Balcony and it was easy for my spouse to get to the water to wade in for fly fishing! Property was clean and inviting. Had a good restful time; enjoyed the humming bird feeder, I even saw a ruby-throated hummingbird!
Very peaceful, quiet and relaxing. Nice deck and furniture to sit on to enjoy the sounds and sites of the Doe river. Perfect size place for a couple. Well stocked kitchen. Quick answer from owner to my questions. Hope to return.
The apartment was clean and sufficient for our 2 night stay. We appreciated having coffee provided to us. Also, when having questions our host was very helpful.
We fell in love with The Loft. It was everything the post said it was and more. The river was beautiful and the Loft was too. The hosts were very nice and friendly. Can't wait to have another opportunity to stay there! Wonderful views. Love the area.

This is a new build. My wife and I had the volunteer fire department practice by burning down are old garage. We then proceeded to rebuild it with a beautiful one bedroom 850 sq ft getaway above it . It took almost a year to complete it as we did all the interior work ourselves. We are very proud of it and hope everyone loves it as much as we do.
Why they chose this property
The Loft is a unique property that has it all. Private, peaceful and the views are amazing. One can sit out on the deck and relax to the sounds of the river. Or one may grab a fishing pole and possibly catch a trout right off the shore.
