We stayed at The Hummingbird Hideaway for 11 nights. The location was excellent with easy walks to Ballard’s many fine restaurants and a QFC grocery store. The apartment was spotless. The kitchen was well organized and equipped. We would definitely stay there again.

I could easily live for months at Nicole and Kurt's apartment. It is a generous space, with a good-sized living/dining room, a good-sized kitchen with everything you could need to prepare your meals, and one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. The neighborhood is wonderful and easy to get around--walking distance to all the great Ballard restaurants and shops.

Very clean and well equipped property. Host couldn’t have been nicer. Easy walk to several great coffee shops. Enjoyed visiting a new grandbaby, but coming from the Midwest, we never get used to the prices or the “easy street parking” in Seattle… that’s on us…

Beautifully decorated and fully equipped apartment. Worked really well for a few night stay visiting family in safe neighborhood within walking distance of shops and restaurants. An FYI that this is a basement level apartment - I closed windows for more privacy so had less light than the photos in listing.

It was the best vacation rental we have ever had! The flat was so cozy and lovingly appointed, with an incredibly generous amount of supplies. Nicole & Kurt were very pro-active in making us feel comfortable, going the extra mile to be accommodating with our special requests. The neighborhood is fantastic -- gardens, shops, pubs, live music venues, restaurants within walking distance. Truly a "crème de la crème" experience !

More like a proper home than a vacation rental, the hostess’s decorating talents are obvious in the superbly stocked kitchen, furnishings and art. Easy entry, wonderful bed, responsive and friendly owners. Great location too. Highly recommend!

The Perfect Stay

Loved our stay here for a short break in Seattle. It's a great location, in a cool neighborhood w lots of shops, restaurants, close to playgrounds and walks. Easy to get in and out and the hosts were fabulous.

Lovey home away from home in Ballard

I really enjoyed my stay in Ballard. Wonderful, quiet neighborhood with everything you need within walking distance. The property was exactly as advertised with lovely hosts. Highly recommend staying here when visiting Seattle and I will come back on future trips.

Fun stay in Ballard

We had a wonderful time in Seattle and the basement suite was in a perfect location. We especially enjoyed walking to bagels and coffee down the street in the mornings. The space was clean and well thought out, with everything we needed. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Cozy hideaway

We really enjoyed our stay at Nicole and Kurt’s. They were very welcoming and accommodating hosts with great communication. Everything was clean and cozy and we had everything we needed for our stay. The neighborhood is pleasant and has some fun restaurant/bar options within walking distance.

Clean, quiet and calm!

This is the perfect place to come back and relax after exploring Seattle. They have all the amenities including a full kitchen to help make your stay feel like you are at home. The neighborhood is great with walkable places to eat and get drinks. Hosts are so nice and offered great suggestions!
