We just stayed for Feb vaca and had a wonderful time. The house was clean and appointed nicely, everything we needed. The pool, hot tub, proximity to beach and shops, and exceptional communication from the host make this home a great choice. It's always a bit nerve wracking to pick a VRBO home that you haven't ever personally seen but this house was a win. We would stay again for sure.
Captiva is our favorite family winter vacation spot. Since our family has grown we needed to find a second home to rent. We found the ideal spot! Everything was perfect. The property owner could not have been more responsive, accommodating, or gracious. The pool and hot tub were a big hit and we were steps from the beach. An added bonus was The Green Flash across the street. It was excellent. The corner store and restaurants were walkable. Great home for a family vacation, will go back again next year.
The property was very neat and clean. What was appreciated the most was having extra towels and items for the beach. The kids and wildlife enjoyed the pool very much. I cleaned it daily to help with the upkeep. The birds would eat the trash at the Green Flash and come over for a drink after. They left quite a few maggots in the spa from their meals. I would say that was the only downside but nothing the property is responsible for. Overall we had a great week and definitely would stay there again.
Everything in this house is brand spanking new. From the floors to the bathroom tile to the bedding to the kitchen utensils. And the owner has such good taste I felt like I was staying in a Pinterest board. The swimming pool and hot tub are wonderful too. It was the perfect place for our family of five. Steps to the beach. Communication was excellent and the owners were very attentive. My only complaint was the pillows were not very comfortable. But that’s a common problem whenever you stay away from home.
Would definitely stay here again if we make it back to Captiva.
We loved everything about Erin’s place. The location is fantastic! We were able to easily walk to town where there is nothing but delicious food to be eaten. (Our favorite was The Green Flash.) It was just my husband and I, but there is plenty of room for children, possibly even two families The couch in the living room made you want to curl up and take a nap after a day on the beach (easy walking distance.) The rest of the decor is perfectly beachy and very tasteful. Erin has made sure to stock plenty of linens, including beach towels, so you don’t have to worry about running out, but if you do, there is a full size washer and dryer, not those small stackable ones you usually find in rentals. We didn’t do a lot of cooking, but everything I needed was available. There are even beach chairs provided. If I had any questions at all, Erin quickly responded.
I could go on and on about how much we loved it here, but you should just book it now and thank me later!
Our family of 5 had an awesome stay at Fredrickson’s Corner. It was our first time to Captiva and we loved it. The cottage is in a great location and just a short walk to the beach. There were beach chairs, boogie boards, and a wagon which was so helpful getting beach stuff back and forth. Our kids loved getting in the pool after a day at the beach. We rented beach umbrellas and a paddle board from YOLO Water Sports. The Green Flash is right across the street and has great food and desserts. We also ate at RC Otters and Cantina Captiva. Boops has ice cream, coffee, and amazing desserts from the Bubble Room(restaurant will open later this year). There’s a Starbucks too. All within walking distance. The beaches are beautiful and filled with lots of sea shells. We rented a pontoon boat for the day from Captiva Water Sports and boated to Cabbage Key. They have a nice restaurant and gift shop. Supposedly famous for Jimmy Buffett’s Cheeseburger in Paradise song. For sure take some bug spray or Avon Skin So Soft - the no-see-ums were pretty bad the week we were there. Would definitely recommend this property. Erin was extremely helpful and responsive to all our questions and needs.
We had a great stay at the property and really enjoyed our time here.
This was our 8th year visiting Sanibel and Captiva and opted for a house since having 2 kids under 4 is a bit challenging in a hotel.
The walk to the beach was maybe 2 blocks -- very short. It was very easy to pack everything up in a wagon provided and make the trip down to the water.
With a family, it's not exactly walkable to restaurants/stores in Captiva, but if we didn't have the kids, it 10000% would be. We ended up renting a golf cart, which was awesome.
The house was great, but just a personal "wish" was that we had a pool for naps and bedtime. We kinda felt "stuck" inside without a pool or view of anything. Again, not fault of anyone other then our own expanded wish list/opinions.
One concern we had was about noise being on that main curve by green flash, and it wasn't an issue at all! We never heard noise.
All in all, we had a great stay and time. It's a great house for a family and felt that beyond minor cosmetic blips here and there, it really is an updated and pretty home that is accessible to quite a bit in Captiva, whether you are walking, biking, carting or driving.
Very nicely updated, clean and plenty of room to spread out. It is a very short walk to the beach and walking distance to all the great places to eat. The owner was so helpful, she even helped us figure out our issue with a cancelled flight. Would definitely stay here again!!
The cottage is perfectly located, accommodating, and well equipped. We especially liked it because it feels like the Captiva of earlier days. It is not a McMansion; it is a sweet cottage with a large living space for hanging out, one large bedroom suite and two much smaller bedrooms. The outdoor shower is great and the screened porch was perfect for morning yoga. The walk to the beach is short. It would be ideal for a couple and 3 children; we were 6 adult siblings all over 60 and we made it work. Erin was helpful and very responsive. When I asked about a coffee grinder, she promptly ordered one. A great time! Thank you for sharing your home.
Our family couldn't have had a better vacation in this home, looking forward to a return next year! Location was amazing with a short walk to the beach, we found the home well stocked to meet all of our needs. One small issue came up during our stay and the owner worked immediately to be sure it was handled properly and to our satisfaction. Really can't say enough how much our family enjoyed our stay in this wonderful home, highly recommend to others looking for some R&R!

Tired old house at a horrible location
This house looks much much better in the pictures than reality. this is a tired old house. kitchen is too small to cook in. I am used to dealing with bugs in south Florida, but this house had way too many bugs to deal with. The location is horrible. This house is right on the corner of the busiest road. Cars drive buy all night long. very loud. The driveway is dangerous to get in and out of with all the traffic. This is NOT conveniently located to the beach. its a far walk, especially if you have a lot of gear. We would not stay here again. there are many better alternatives. This price is way too high for what you get. We've stay on Captiva 8 years in a row. This was the worst house yet.
You can’t beat the location of this house. We loved the 5 min walk to the beach and the provided beach cart to get everything down to the beach. You can leave your car parked for the week because the house is also the perfect walking distance to the restaurants. We stayed with our 3 kids and look forward to renting again when we return to Captiva.
Convenient location and well stocked home made this a true vacation!
This is a darling bungalow that has been well cared for and is stocked with washer and dishwasher detergents, clean linens and bedding. There are many storage nooks for your travel items. It is an easy two blocks to the beach with chairs, a cooler, some beach toys and a wagon to pull it all. Beach is clean and beautiful. Erin was responsive to all of my questions.
Great property. Doesn't look like it when you pull up but once you are in it is exactly like the pics. Easily fit our family of 7. Couch is huge and easily sleeps a couple people but you don't need to. A little bit off the main drag but that was fine because it has privacy that none of the other places had. So we didn't bother anyone with our noise. Captiva is great. Erin the home owner was great and easy to get a hold of. We will go back.
What a terrific spot for a Captiva vacation. Property totally renovated with care and attention to detail. Modern beach house feel with a great screened in porch and comfortable living area.
Thoughtful touches through out from a full size washer dryer, double dish washer, new grill and an outdoor shed with all the beach stuff you would want.
Erin was wonderful to deal with. Quick in getting back to us and proactively checking in.
The location is perfect. A 1 minute walk to to the beach and an easy walk to several restaurants in Captiva. We rented bikes and even the furthest parts of Captiva was reachable in 5 minutes. (Although an easy walk as well)
We loved our stay. There were 5 of us and had plenty of room to stretch out. Highly recommend.
