Nestled among the pines on two acres of land in South Fork, this lofty lodge offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and landscape, as well as plentiful space to relax both inside and out. Whether you're planning to ski the slopes of Wolf Creek Ski Area (22 miles southwest), explore Creede (25 miles northwest) and Pagosa Springs (46 miles southwest), venture into Rio Grande National Forest, or fish in the gold medal waters of the Rio Grande itself, you'll never be bored at this lovely log home. Come home each afternoon to toss the day's clothes in the private washer/dryer, kick back and relax outside on the wrap-around deck, or curl up in the great room amid beautiful natural wood, floor-to-ceiling windows, plush furnishings, and stuffed deer and lynx. Enjoy a fully equipped kitchen, an adjacent dining room, and a flatscreen TV with basic DirecTV service for your after-dinner entertainment. At night, you'll have your choice of a king bedroom, a bedroom with a twin trundle bed, and a loft with a king-size bed and a twin trundle.

Very quiet location! Beautiful views

Great cabin! Very peaceful.

We absolutely loved watching the deer pass through or just lay up. Lots of chipmunks really enjoyed watching them and some prairie dogs. The view of the mountains from living room was breath taking.

South Fork getaway

Cleanliness and local management was not to a normal standard and was biggest drawback. House location was good with a nice view of hills out living room windows. We had deer come by almost every day. Wifi connectivity was good.

Wonderful place to stay

We saw deer in the front yard everyday, the home is cozy and warm and we had everything we needed! Highly recommend this property if you have 4 wheel drive!

However---shower in main house doesn't work and you had to go to the other building to shower. Mice on kitchen counter eating food, chewing on bags of food. Critter under main bedroom all night long scratching. Lack of wash cloths. Back door does not shut properly.

Overall a good stay

The property is as advertised. We only had three people so the fact that one of the bedrooms was not accessible from inside the house was not a big deal for us but I would not want young kids in that room. The only complaint I have is that the showers have little to no water pressure at all.

Deer, stay & ski

We loved the beautiful mule, deer nestling up to the birdfeeders, just outside our breakfast window each morning, staring at us while we stared at it. Beautiful sunrise and sunset, overlooking the hill, sloping down to a white expansive mountainous view. Very comfortable setting, super well equipped kitchen And work even able to watch our beloved Celtics and Bruins over beer and pizza dinner.

Alpine mountain top cabin!

Brought my family for a ski trip to Wolf Creek and stayed at this amazing cabin. The cabin location was great, very close to South Fork Colorado. It was exactly what we were looking for to getaway. The cabin was well stocked with everything we needed for our week’s stay. There was plenty of space and very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked as we cooked meals two of the nights we were there. Really nice patio with a great Grill! We will be back next year again with family and friends, and would love to stay here again. Highly recommend to stay here, or near South Fork! We made some great memories!

Great outdoors

We would book this cabin again. We loved the space and we enjoyed it thoroughly. It had more amenities than we expected. There was plenty of heating throughout the whole house and several cooling fans you could move where you needed them. Wonderful cross breeze through the home windows were screened made it very enjoyable. We had some great wildlife around us. The deers chipmunks and lots of birds. The Blue Jays were just gorgeous. Thank you for share your home!!

Awesome cabin and view

There were 7 family members in our party plenty of room for everyone including the 2 dogs. Perfect location 1 mile from the Rio Grande where you can fish from the bank. Short distance into South Fork . Cabin is roomy with very comfortable furnishing. Kitchen is well equipped. Nice covered deck with grill and seating. The front deck has a beautiful view. Kids and dogs enjoyed playing on the large property. And of course we had s'mores using the firepit. You can't find a nicer place to stay in the South Fork area. Highly recommend and the host was great communicating with us during our stay.

The Good - the house was well stocked with most things you'll need. The Bad - the house is situated in a draw so there's not any yard or view. The parking needs improvement. While we were there it rained most afternoons and it was impossible to not park in mud and track it into the house.

We loved this house!

The house was actually bigger than we expected - we got the extra space thinking our kids (16 and 13) could have individual space but instead they were infatuated with the spiral stair case and wanted to stay in the loft area. My favorite was the wrap around porch. Perfect for reading, having morning coffee, or sitting and talking. The owners had a mason jar of bird seed in the kitchen so I put some out and befriended a chipmunk - who came back every day for more. :) Lots of birds and some pretty wild flowers in the side and back yard area. Everything you could need was in the kitchen! We loved the decor in the living area! Books and games to play were available which was nice.
