Why Guests Love The Alpine Haven
Wake up panoramic views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains from the front porch, just minutes from Wolf Creek Ski Area, the Rio Grande Club, world-class fly fishing, hiking, ATV trails and endless Colorado adventures.
Whether you're planning an active vacation or simply looking for a peaceful mountain escape, Alpine Haven is the perfect place to unplug, relax and reconnect with family, friends and nature.
Guests consistently tell us they appreciate the cleanliness, thoughtful amenities, easy check-in, comfortable accommodations, and peaceful mountain setting. Our goal is to make your stay relaxing, comfortable, and memorable from the moment you arrive.
Winter at The Alpine Haven
Wolf Creek Ski Area is just a short drive away and is famous for receiving some of Colorado's highest annual snowfall. County roads are maintained throughout the winter, and our private driveway is professionally plowed after snowfalls. During major winter storms, we still recommend an AWD or 4WD vehicle, as is common throughout the Colorado mountains.
Watch the first light of day illuminate the Sangre de Cristo Mountains from the front porch, then unwind under some of Colorado's clearest star-filled skies each evening.
Summer & Fall Adventures
South Fork is an outdoor paradise. Enjoy hiking, fishing, ATV and UTV trails, mountain biking, wildlife viewing, scenic drives, and some of Colorado's best hunting. Explore the nearby Rio Grande National Forest or simply relax on the front porch while taking in the Sangre de Cristo Mountain views. Whether you're spending the day exploring or simply relaxing on the front porch, there's something special about every season in the San Juan Mountains.
Anytime of Year
At night step outside to enjoy some of the clearest star-filled skies in Colorado. With very little light pollution, it's the perfect place to relax around the fire pit and experience the beauty of the mountains after dark.

We are so happy that you and your family were able to visit! Also, we are so happy to hear that it was a perfect fit for your family! I know you and your family made some new memories and we hope that you get to come back and visit again soon! Thank you again for visiting!
We stayed here two nights. It was very comfortable for my sister and our youngest kids (15 and 16). Prior to even checking in they sent a long list of restaurants and things to do in the area. We already had plans, but having the list of places to eat was so awesome! It was a cozy and easy to access to where we needed to go.
The cabin was perfect. Very quiet area and nicely decorated. We are traveling cross country by motorcycle and wanted a nice place to relax and do some riding. This is a very beautiful area and we would love to come back and stay again. Thanks for being accommodating to our needs. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

This was the first time I took my daughters with me on a Colorado summer trip. This cabin was perfect for us. The inside of the cabin was updated and nicely decorated. The property owner was awesome and great to deal with. We look forward to coming back.

It was so nice that you got to visit with your daughters and spend some time together. We hope you made some great new memories. We would love to have you visit again!
From the booking process until the time we left, this was the best booking we ever had. Karen spent a lot of time telling us about places to go, places to eat, etc. The cabin was homey and perfect. Our kids were so excited when we walked it. The neighborhood was so quiet and had beautiful views. We enjoyed s’mores by the little fire table, grilling, and relaxing watching TV. The addition of the mini split AC was perfect! We felt so comfortable the entire time. I absolutely recommend this place to anyone that is interested! Thank you so much!!

Liked: Check-in, communication
Disliked: Location
Needs a few things.
While we enjoyed staying here there are somethings that can be done to improve the experience and some things out of the owners control. The home was not super clean, we noticed some dust and dirt and the windows really need cleaning. There was nowhere in the shower to place shampoo/ soap and would recommend that basic amenity. Out of the control of the owner is the location. This cabin is in a neighborhood of very small lots,,neighbors are very close. The views, while ok, we’re not outstanding. Although we noticed previous reviews were “exceptional” this property didn’t rise to that level for us.

We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay. The feedback is always valuable to ensure we are meeting our guests needs which is always something we strive to exceed. One very helpful suggestion for future travel for you or your family would be to communicate directly with the host and ask specific questions related to your expectations and details regarding the property. I reviewed your reservation and reached out twice to ask if you had any additional questions regarding the cabin or the area which were there was no response to. Hosts and owners of properties are always wanting to exceed expectations so in your case more detailed communication explaining your expectations or what you were looking for would be very helpful to the host as well as a more enjoyable stay for yourself or your family. We hope this suggestion helps and improves your future travel experiences so you find a property that is more suitable to your tastes, area and proximity to neighbors or a more remote location. Thank you again for visiting!
This was a very relaxing cabin property. Our host provided the extra touches that made us feel right at home. The kitchen has everything you might need. The front porch is the perfect spot to enjoy the scenery and wildlife. The neighbors we met on our walks were very friendly. Will definitely recommend this property to others.
Remodel was fine, but probably should consider upgrading the beds. Memory foam pads were hard and not comfortable.

Thank you Robert. We always appreciate the feedback. We have found during the cooler months the memory foam takes time to acclimate and warm up if the temperatures are cold. Thank you so much for visiting and taking the time to help us make everything perfect for our guests.
Very clean cabin only 30 minutes from wolf creek, I spread here with 4 other friends for the weekend and LOVED my stay! The best part was deer watching in the morning :)
