The adjacent dining room boasts a one-of-a-kind, custom-crafted, live-edge, banquet-style dining table that comfortably seats up to fourteen (14) guests. The large kitchen features granite countertops, custom cabinetry, and high-end appliances. There are barstool seats at the kitchen bar and window seating for four more at the custom live-edge breakfast table. The upper floor features a nice loft with a desk and a checkers/chess setup, offering a space to both work and play. A second king bedroom suite has a walk-in closet, HD Smart TV, and a full ensuite bathroom with a tub and shower combo. One of the two also has a full-sized floor mattress for additional sleeping options. There is a full bathroom across from the loft and between the two queen bedrooms. An open balcony looks down into the great room and out to Grandfather Mountain.
The lower level begins with a cozy alcove room at the foot of the stairs featuring a custom log bunk bed with two Twin XL beds and open floor space perfect for children to spread out their toys and play. There is another Queen bedroom on the lower level, with an HD Smart TV and glass doors that open onto the lower deck and look out at the mountain views. There is a central bathroom with a tub and shower combo on the lower level. The majority of the lower level encompasses the family room and game room, with an eight-foot slate pool table, dartboard, foosball table, air hockey table, and shuffleboard table. The family room/game room also features a stone fireplace with gas logs, a large HD Smart TV, a comfy sofa, and glass doors opening to the large lower rear deck. Both rear decks stretch the length of the house, are covered with an open-air extension on the main level, and have good views. This house looked so good in the photos - and was even better in real life! It was absolutely perfect for our crew of 8, with plenty more room if we had more friends. One of the cleanest rental property hot tubs I've been in.The kitchen was chock full of tools, utensils, etc. The game room was well loved, certainly, but everything worked and provided great entertainment. The huge table was a coffee shop and work space in the morning, a family dinner table in the evening, and a poker game at night. The whole house was big enough for everyone to have their peace, but with plenty of cozy social spaces throughout. I would be shocked if we didn't end up staying here again.
This house was perfect for our family vacation. The view was incredible, and the game room was a hit! We loved being able to sit together for dinner at the beautiful table. I highly recommend!

Very cozy! The place felt bigger than what the pictures showed which was great. Highly recommend staying at this house for large groups.
The house itself was beautiful and everything we were expecting based on the listing. Unfortunately, many of the doors in the house did not lock properly and we needed to use cords/dog leashes to secure them. The dishwasher wheels on the racks were rotted. As we attempted to put a few glasses on the top rack it collapsed and shattered many plates and glasses. When we went to use the vacuum it didn’t work until we personally tried to fix it and unclog it. After reaching out to Carolina Cabin Rentals, they sent a maintenance man who delivered a brand new vacuum. He confirmed that the door locks were broken and the dishwasher needed to be replaced. Neither of these were fixed throughout the week while we were there. For the amount of money that we payed we didn’t feel as though we were given the treatment we deserved when we were expressing our concerns for safety.
Thank you so much for sharing. Hearing that a guest had a great time and knowing that the home played a small part in creating memories for our guest is such a rewarding experience.
Thank you so much for sharing! Our greatest reward is hearing from our guest that they had a great time and enjoyed the home. Take care and we hope you will revisit again soon.
The house is perfect for a large family and even better for the younger and older adults with the layout of the house. We really enjoyed our stay . Beautiful home, property, and location.

Thank you so much for sharing. Guest feedback is so integral in providing the very best experience possible for our valued customers. Its our fondest hope to see you again, sooner rather than later.
Overall a great experience. I would say pet friendly, just not a huge area for the dogs to go potty. We had a few issues, but management was very quick to respond and remedy the problem. Even on the Christmas day. Beautiful view of Grandfather mountain. The game room needs some items repaired, but the kids and adults still enjoyed it. Also need an updated list of items provided in the kitchen. It would have been nice if the place was decorated for Christmas so we did not have to improvise for what we paid. Location was perfect to everything we wanted to do in the area and very accommodating for our group of 12. Ages ranging from 8-68. Would totally come back, but will bring mattress toppers. The beds were a little stiff for everyones liking.
Beautiful house! So much room for everyone to spread out and enjoy our stay. Just a few things need attention by owner. The downstairs couch legs are broken and the downstairs bedroom door does not lock.

Stayed for a week with family and friends. House was clean and spacious. Plenty of room for multiple families, with space for people who needed to work remotely to get away from the kids. Property manager was responsive and answered questions quickly.

This house was a perfect home base for our family of eight while we were in town for my daughter’s wedding at Appalachian View. Close to venue and grocery, and had perfect space inside and outside on the decks to relax. The game room was much enjoyed as well. It exceeded our every expectation, and we hope to come back!!!

Thats fantastic! Appreciate you sharing and we hope that a revisit is in the works.
We really enjoyed staying in the high country. Very relaxing, great central location to skiing, hiking and other small towns to shop/eat. Kids stayed busy in the evenings with everything in the game room. I’m pretty sure our dog didn’t want to leave either haha. Would definitely recommend.

We made this location the place to host our weekend marriage retreat with 3 other couples. The location is scenic. There is a lot to do nearby and there is plenty of space for everyone to spread out or congregate around the dining room table and enjoy time together. Overall, we would recommend this to others pursuing similar objectives.

Awesome! Thank you so much for sharing. Its our sincerest hope that you will visit us again soon.
We loved our stay and the indoor and outdoor features were great for a family get together for the eight of us. There were a few items that need fixed for future guests: the drain in the main bedroom suite and the second floor hall bathroom were clogged; the shower knob in the second floor king suite was broken; the shower curtain rod in the lower level bathroom was broken; the gutters on the back deck were clogged so ran over during a rain storm.
We loved every minute of our family vacation! Each family had their own “floor” which helped anchor everyone. The amenities were wonderful and the game room was a big hit! My only feedback is that the kitchen lacked some basic equipment that would have made dinners easier. Our family loves to gather around food and with dietary restrictions and picky eaters, we prefer to cook at home. We made it work, but for a home of this caliber, it was disappointing.

Thank you for sharing. We are thrilled when a guest enjoys the home and in some small part we can help folks create cherished memories.
We absolutely LOVED our time at VILLACOSTALOTTA.....it was the perfect house and location for our family trip celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary!! We had 6 adults, 2 children (ages 8 & 10), and 1 puppy with us. The house was exceptional and we made many memories there....we loved the views, game room, corn hole game and having lots of space for everyone! Also, theTynecastle neighborhood was so beautiful and it was easy access to town and the main roads.
Any questions or concerns were quickly addressed and answered by the rental agency.
Our family all agreed that we would love to stay at Villacostalotta again someday!

Thank you so much for sharing. We are always thrilled to hear that a guest had a great vacation experience and that the home met and or exceeded any expectations. Its our hope that you. will visit us again in the very near future.
We really enjoyed our stay. The kids LOVED the game room, and the house was plenty large enough for our group. The house was a little worn, but very comfortable. I only have a couple of things that could have been better.
While it looked like the house had been clean, it seemed that it had not been cleaned very recently. There was a lot of dust on the indoor surfaces, and the porch and outside windows were not very clean.
There were no instructions or book in the house for the equipment or what do to when leaving. However, all the light switches were labeled, which was wonderful.
Even with these two things, I would highly recommend the house for a family stay.
