Hi Maria,
I am happy to hear that your family enjoyed your vacation at our lake house.
Thank you for the review and we look forward to hosting you again in the future.
Property is in a very nice and relaxing location on Loon Lake- we brought extra kayaks and paddled on the lake every day. We quickly set up “camp” on thursday, and enjoyed 3 nights with the wood burning stove and the firepit by the water.

This is what we all needed. The property was great, being on the water and close to everything. Waking up a seeing the water view was as good as it gets. We will likely return soon.

Thank you Brian! We look forward to hosting you again.
This get away lake home is on a wooded dead end, with a beautiful view of the lake. It's private and well equipped, right down to a coffee whisk and electric cork screw, we had everything we needed. We enjoyed our first cup of coffee on the dock, followed by a morning hike, kayak in the afternoon and fire by the lake at night. We enjoyed some good meals at the local restaurants. Everything was in close proximity to the home and had an "off the grid" vibe. We would definitely consider coming back.

Thank you for your feedback. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay at our lake house. We look forward to hosting you again.
The grounds and access to the lake were beautiful and we had no problem docking our boat or swimming off the dock. The loft upstairs was perfect for our teens and having a bath and a half was great with a family. The house does not have a washer and dryer but the owners kindly left a large drying rack which was very helpful for drying our swimsuits and towels.

Location, location. A secluded home on the lake... We loved everything about this beautiful house. It was our first winter vacation ever. My three sons loved walking on the frozen lake. I Enjoyed my cocktail sitting by the window overlooking the lake. The house was so cozy. The wood burning stove was a treat... Love it and would return... Considering returning in the Summer...

Hi Susana,
Thank you for your review. We are glad you and your family enjoyed your vacation at our Lake house and we are looking forward to hosting you again!
We (four adults and two young teens) greatly enjoyed our stay. As others have noted, the location is excellent; the trees around the house provide privacy. The kayaks were a major plus; we plopped them into our little cove whenever we felt like it; they were perfect for this lake. We paddled to a public beach in one direction and a pretty marshy cove at the other end of the lake. We also rented some kayaks at the marina that were not as good. Hanging out on the dock and deck was great, and we enjoyed swimming right off the dock. The kids enjoyed the rowboat, which requires some bailing first. The lake itself is very pretty. It has houses all around it and was a bit noisy and crowded with motor crafts, jet skis, and nighttime fireworks over the holiday weekend. Fortunately, during the week it quieted down and then we could hear loons' beautiful and haunting call, especially at when we were outside at night. During the day, we saw a pair of them swimming through our cove a couple times. We lucked into great weather, and never needed the heat or A/C, but the house was a fine place to be on the one rainy day too. The owner was very helpful and responded to every message right away. Definitely recommend. Enjoy it!

wouldn't recommend
If you are just a couple with small children, maybe this place would work. It did not work well for our family, seven adults and one infant. The two bedrooms downstairs are very small...so small you could not even open your suitcase on the floor. There is no furniture to put clothes in, so you need to be in your suitcase constantly. The place was very dirty, cobwebs hanging from beams, windows so dirty you could barely see through them. When we arrived, there were no towels to use in the kitchen. The owner's reply "sorry about that, use your hand towels provided for the bathroom." The row boat was old and rickety...the deck was so shaded, you couldn't even see the lake from it. Also, the grill caught on fire the first time we tried to use it. (I guess from accumulated grease). For the money, I just wouldn't recommend this place. As I said, maybe for one small family, it could work, but for us, it was a disaster. I'm sorry to say these things, but they are true and I hope no-one else is disappointed as I was. I have never posted a negative review in my life, but I feel in this case it is necessary to help others.

I am sorry to hear that you didn't have a good experience with your family. I am surprised by your review as this is the first negative review I received since I started renting our lake house. I would like to address some of your comments and encourage everyone else to read all my other reviews.
The house is professionally cleaned after each stay and there were never any complaints about the issues you raised. I think the listing information and the pictures provide a very detailed and accurate description of what the house looks like and what is provided.
I have rented the house several times to large families or groups of 8 people and have never received any feedback about the house being too small to accommodate 8 people. We are a family of 7 and feel very comfortable at the house. Both bedrooms have a large closet with plenty of room for storage and shelves for clothing. One of the bedrooms also has a large dresser, and 2 beds in the loft have drawers.
As per the listing, we do not offer towels for the kitchen as we provide paper towels. I was trying to be helpful and allowed you to use hand towels instead. The rowboat is not brand new (as per the picture) but works perfectly and is what you would expect at a lake house.
Loon Lake is an amazing place and this home has an awesome private dock on a little side spot with perfect access but enough off the main section for privacy and more relaxed swimming and boating. The house is cozy and has everything you need. We had a great stay. Thank you!
The property is awesome! Large deck, plenty of sleeping spaces, private stairway down to a private dock and swimming platform. Close to lots of activities and the lake has great fishing! It was great for our children.
The house is located in a neat little cove very secluded from other people, the views from the dock are amazing with mountains rising above the lake, the large deck is great for cooking and having a fun time with friends, highly recommend this property.
The outdoor area of this property makes for an amazing stay! Great Lake !

About the host
Hosted by Ludjane Carvalho
We have four children and cherish every moment we spend at the lake, where we’ve created countless unforgettable memories. As a host, I love sharing our home with other families so they can experience the same joy and make lasting memories in our little piece of paradise.
Why they chose this property
We love spending time at the lake, whether it’s swimming, boating, fishing, or simply relaxing at the dock or fire pit while soaking in the stunning views. The area has so much to offer, and we enjoy exploring the local restaurants and outdoor activities. There are several beautiful trails just minutes away, and in the winter, we take advantage of skiing at Gore Mountain.
What makes this property unique
The house sits right on the lake with a great waterfront area and features a private dock, providing a perfect retreat. Tucked away at the end of a private road and surrounded by trees, it offers a secluded atmosphere. Despite its tranquil setting, it's conveniently located just 20 minutes from downtown Lake George and Gore Mountain.
