Val delle Corti is a small winery in Radda in Chianti. The ‘Capanna’, an old, tastefully restored natural stone hay barn is a few meters from our main apartment building. Our guests have their own terrace with a garden and a wonderful view over the Tuscan hills. A quiet place in the heart of the Chianti Classicos from which all the beauties of Tuscany can be easily reached. B. Florence, Siena, Pisa, San Gimignano, Arezzo. Two to four people can be accommodated in the 90 square meter house. On the first floor of the house there are two double bedrooms (one with two separable single beds), halfway up the bathroom and on the ground floor a large living room with an open kitchen and dining area. From here, guests have access to the terrace with dining area and their own garden, deck chairs and barbecue are available. The kitchen is fully equipped (also with a washing machine) our guests are self-sufficient. The next town Radda is 1.5 km away, there are various shops, banks, a pharmacy, restaurants and bars. About the host
Hosted by Lis Grundmann
I'm born in Germany, I studied architecture at Berlin. I live in Italy since 1991 where I met my husband Roberto. We took over the estate from Roberto's parents in 1999, where we live with our 2 children and Roberto's mother Eli.
Why they chose this property
In 1974 Giorgio Bianchi moved his family from Milan to Radda to fulfil the dream of a lifetime: living in the country and learning to make wine. This was a brave choice at a time when Chianti was a wild and wonderful place, economicially backward, and without good quality winegrowing and tourism, with a very few exceptions. With passion and a great deal of effort Giorgio and his wife Eli rebuilt the long-abandoned farmhouse, replanted the vineyards and built a small cellar. After Giorgio passed away prematurely in 1999, his son Roberto took over the winery. He and his wife Lis have succeeded in developing the farm’s potential and bringing its wine production to an excellent standard.
What makes this property unique
Val delle Corti is a realy beautiful place, even if we live and work here every day we still see it. I first came here as a turist and I enjoyed the possibilities to see all these cities of tuscan art and to relax at home in the garden with its beautiful view, the sun and peace.
