The Space:
Wild Turkey Ridge is a cozy cabin nestled in the West Virginia mountains, with everything you need for your Lost River getaway. We’re perfect for couples, families, or small groups of friends!
The cabin includes:
- Two bedrooms to comfortably sleep four
- A spacious, wraparound deck for relaxing and grilling
- Outdoor hot tub perfect for relaxing
- Fast, reliable WiFi that’s more than enough to stream movies and hold video calls
- Fully-stocked kitchen with dishwasher, stove/oven, and microwave
- Outdoor fire pit to wind down the evening with s’mores!
Our community also has access to a private lake with a sand beach, just a short drive from the cabin. It’s open year round for fishing (we’ve caught bluegills, bass, and catfish), and in the summer is great for a swim!
We often take our three little kids and dog to the cabin with us, so we're very family- and dog-friendly. Unfortunately we don't allow cats (we're allergic).
Please note:
Our cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but due to the natural setting, you may still notice some leaves, pollen, or similar—especially during certain seasons. We appreciate your understanding as nature tends to leave its mark, no matter how often we tidy up!
The gravel driveway and yard are on an incline. Take care when driving in and be mindful when using the yard, especially for play or outdoor activities.
Beyond the cabin itself, the Lost River area is great for so many reasons -- and Wild Turkey Ridge is just a short drive to everything. Downtown Lost River has several cute, artisanal shops -- while the greater area has fantastic hiking trails!

We had a wonderful weekend in Lost River. The cabin was perfect for my husband and our fur-baby. It was easy to get to all the Lost River area has to offer, and then we had this cozy cabin to escape to.

My dog (Mya) and I spent 3 nights in this lovely little cabin. Mya liked the big deck, hiking opportunities and all the outside smells. I liked the hiking, comfy bed and the well appointed kitchen. Thanks for a lovely respite.
We so enjoyed our stay at Turkey Ridge Cabin. Cabin was cozy, clean, comfortable, and deck was fantastic. We enjoyed cooking out on grill, then sitting by fire at firepit to close out our day! We visited Trout Pond, and did the Cranny Crow hike in Lost River Park. We wouldn't hesitate to stay at your cabin if we venture to WV again! Thanks for being such great hosts, Tony and family!
Overall everything was as described. The cabin is in a fairly secluded spot surrounded by woods. There are a couple other houses within view through the trees, but I don't think we saw another person during our stay. There is not much to do in the surrounding area besides hike, but if you are just looking for some peaceful seclusion, this is a good place.
My father and I were in the area overnight for business and chose this property rather than staying in a hotel. We were so pleased with our choice. The property is very well maintained with all of the essentials and then some. Very relaxing and private with wonderful outside space. The owner was accommodating and easy to communicate with. I will absolutely be coming back with my family when the weather is warmer and I have more time.
You can't go wrong with this sweet, cozy cabin in the woods! It's been recently renovated, so everything is new and pristinely clean. The motif is casual and welcoming with comfy furniture, bedding, and throws...perfect for our winter getaway! The kitchen has all of the amenities , and everything is organized and readily available at your fingertips. The cabin itself is very warm with a woodstove for added ambience. The wraparound deck affords beautiful views of the serene woods, and a firepit promises beautiful evenings under the stars. The host, Tony, was extremely forthcoming with pertinent information in her house manual and was very responsive as she offered ideas of things to do and restaurants to visit. There are several hiking trails nearby and a pond/beach area for outdoor recreation. Be prepared to be self-sufficient regarding food if you go in the winter months as few local restaurants are open during the week in the winter months. The driveway to the cabin is initially a surprise as it's very steep, especially in snowy or wet conditions, but it's easy to maneuver once you experience it. We highly recommend the Lost River cabin as your cozy getaway, and we will be planning a return visit to the cabin in warmer months to explore the trails, check out the neighboring George Washington National Forest, and investigate the local fare!
Booked a last minute trip at Tony’s cabin and was absolutely not disappointed. The wrap around porch and fire pit were just the beginning of the amazing space in GW Park. The cabin was cozy and adorable, rustic but very well done w airy decor, great bedding, and all the desired appliances. The armchair is the perfect spot to watch some Netflix or do work from home-the wood stove is an amazing bonus so buying firewood per Tony’s suggestion is 100% worth it. My pup Harper loved exploring the outdoor space and I loved exploring my book on the porch (wine in hand 😊) did a bunch of hiking as well as horseback riding. A terrific location and even better cabin. Miss it already. THANK YOU TONY!!
The cabin is in a very quiet and peaceful forest area. Very cozy and clean! Big deck with decoration lights! We had a very relaxing two nights, away from city noises. Sipping a cup of coffee on the deck and seeing clouds moving in the sky, and all we heard was nothing but breezy wind and bird chirping… We enjoyed the fire-pit and grill as well. My 8-yr old son loved watching the Roku TV. The host was very helpful and responsive. An overall perfect holiday weekend for us.
Our family (2 adults, teenage twins and dog) stayed here for a long Thanksgiving weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin is surrounded by mature trees and mountains nearby, so we truly had a sense of getting back to nature and it was very easy to leave our cares behind. Tony communicated well with us before, during and after our stay. We enjoyed making S'mores at the fire pit, and also enjoyed indoor fires in the wood stove.
Tony was extremely responsive and communicative throughout the whole booking process and stay. The cabin was impeccably clean and so beautiful! It was the perfect place for a quiet getaway for my husband and I. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone wanting a quiet, relaxing trip.
Tony's house is very cute and was equipped with everything we needed for a weekend getaway. The location is great - in a very quiet community of small houses and cabins, but still very secluded. The cabin is well appointed and was very clean upon arrival. The deck is awesome and we spent much of our time there among the trees and beautiful ferns. Great spot for some quiet time and very close to some great hikes and swimming (check out the beautiful lake/park nearby).

We were excited to try a new place for an extended getaway and not only did Lost City not disappoint, it exceeded our expectations. First, Tony was a great host throughout the process and excellent with communication. The location was awesome, and the cabin itself was so nice, clean and well decorated. We enjoyed just hanging out on the huge deck or by the fire pit, or just relaxing inside. The bed was soooo comfortable as well. The surrounding area is beautiful. Enjoyed a hike around Rockcliff Lake as well as exploring in Lost River State Park, which is amazing! Also enjoyed a stop at the Lost River Trading Post. We have been staying at cabins every few months the last few years and this one is definitely at the top of the list and look forward to a return trip from Pittsburgh!
My friend and I enjoyed the quiet retreat. We went hiking and sightseeing so only spent the evenings at the cabin for the short retreat, but it was beautiful in the wooded area and clean! The owners are attentive and friendly.

I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.
What makes this property unique
We spent years searching for the perfect getaway, and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and Wild Turkey Ridge in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
