The cabin has a warm and friendly atmosphere. Very much a cabin atmosphere with a bit of character added in. Close to hiking, fishing, etc. Will absolutely stay here again.
We wanted to do a hiking trip in VA and this location was affordable, allowed pets and was close to the Shenandoah park. It is also close to the Luray caverns. We absolutely loved our trip and this is a lovely rental. I would 100% recommend.
We enjoyed our stay! Farm fresh eggs welcomed us, home was very spacious and clean! Perfect location to stay and hike Old Rag mountain! Pig & Steak restaurant was great- short drive away and Yoders is a fun country market to visit!
We made our annual fall pilgrimage to Old Rag this past weekend and stayed here. It was clean, convenient, and well appointed and we had a lovely time!
We loved our time at Robinson River Roost! It exceeded our expectations, such a comfortable home with everything you need & located in a beautiful area with a few neighboring properties. Would definitely recommend, thank you for such a memorable stY
Exactly what we expected (in the best way possible). Clean, cozy, great AC, reliable Wi-Fi, great location for hiking and convenient 1.5 bathrooms. We had a wonderful trip!
Very quiet neighborhood. Close to many wineries and breweries. Close to the skyline drive. Owners were prompt in responding when asking a question. This place was VERY clean! Cleanest rental that I have stated in. Place was as advertised. Loved the different paintings on the wall. Would definitely stay again if in the area!
The property is very cute and as described in the listing. The owners are friendly and helpful. Overall the experience was a good one and would recommend!
This property is perfect for anyone looking to escape to the mountains. It is in the middle of a tiny, cute town near the Blue Ridge Mountains and close to Old Rag trailhead. The home is well equipped to host a family of four or small group of friends, has a living room where everyone can gather and a small fire pit outside. Bedding was quite comfortable; I’d book again in a heartbeat.
We spent a weekend hiking in Shenandoah NP. This was a perfect location to access the park. The house was clean and comfortable with all amenities included. The hosts were very sweet to leave fresh chicken eggs on our arrival and were very helpful to assist in anything we needed. Would definitely stay again!
We loved staying in this adorable cottage for a mini Shenandoah National Park vacation. The location was perfect as it was close to lots of great hiking. The cottage was a perfect place to relax after hiking all day and had everything we needed. We loved the back deck, the grill, and the fire pit. The Robinson River was close by and my husband and son enjoyed swimming in it. Thanks for a perfect trip!
Loved the house and property. We were traveling with our dogs competing in NADD competition close by. Great quite property that was well equipped for our visit. Loved walking down to the river. We will be back. Host were great to deal with. TY
Had a fun weekend stay with a trip to Shenandoah National Park for a hike and blackberry ice cream pie, visited a ciders in Sperryville, and enjoyed the Possom Store and Art Print shopping near the listing. Would love to come back when the weather is warmer and float or swim in the river. Farm fresh eggs left by super responsive host were great!
We were looking for just a little more than a cabin but within the budget. This was more than we could've asked for! A cute cottage with two bedrooms, 1.5 baths, a full kitchen, washer and dryer including a campfire area and a grill. We didn't even need to pack linens!!! Not far from a number of wineries, Shenandoah National Park, Skyline Drive, hiking, many historical sites and cute shopping as well as beautiful country to tool around in. We did not get it all done in a week! The hosts mostly left us on our own but were quick to respond when we needed something - with puppies, we had a few issues. They even had fresh eggs waiting for us! We plan to go back!
Main concerns for older visitors, the bathtub has no grab bars. My friend who is almost 80, fell while trying to get into the tub. She stepped in with one leg and she slipped, didn't have anything to grab onto and fell backwards out of the tub and hit the vanity. We went to the ER and thankfully nothing was broken but her back is very painful. This happened on our last full day there.
The other recommendation is to put some plywood under the mattress on the bottom bunk bed for some support.
We really did enjoy the area, so much beautiful nature.

Nancy, we are so sorry to hear that your friend fell! We appreciate the recommendation about the grab bar and will look into installing one.
For me, this place was perfect! It was just me and my dog, so it was more than enough space. The place is decorated simply and very cozy. My only concerns (not enough to lower rating) are there is no outside lighting and the lock on the back door does not lock unless you are holding the door and pulling it toward you. There is a porch light on the back deck, and it lights the deck only. I arrived at night and there were no lights on. I keep a flashlight in the car, so I used that anytime I left/came after dark or for bedtime potty breaks for my dog. The lock is not a huge deal, but it’s very easy to leave thinking you’ve locked up and return to a door that is unlocked. I did this on more than one occasion.

Hi Megan, we're sorry about the porch light not being on for you! This is a good reminder for us to check it each time the house is cleaned. Hope we'll be able to host you again in the future!
