The cottage was used during the filming of the movie “Merv.” The beloved dogs featured in the film stayed right here during production, and the sofa in the living room even appeared on the set as part of Zooey Deschanel’s apartment. My husband Steve and I fell in love with the Carolina Beach and Kure Beach area years ago and slowly began building our little dream on the island. What started as a single cottage project turned into a passion for restoring and caring for these charming beach homes so guests could experience the same relaxed coastal lifestyle that made us fall in love with the area.
Steve is the practical one who keeps everything running smoothly, while I focus on the design and the small details that make each cottage feel warm, comfortable, and welcoming rather than like a typical rental.
