We had a lovely time staying at the Red House this past weekend while in Gainesville for a conference. It was super well located for our purposes. The house itself was cool and calm, very clean and tidy, and communication with our hosts was great. We'd absolutely stay there again if we have an opportunity to come back.

We stayed for a Florida football weekend and the property is less than a 5 minute walk to downtown Gainesville. Perfect location and the host was extremely responsive with anything we needed. Would love to stay at this property again!

This was a lovely property -- clean, comfortable, within walking distance of many restaurants, and an easy drive to the campus of University of Florida. The owner was friendly and easy to reach.
Lovely vintage home near downtown Gainesville. Very easy to find and no issues with parking. There was plenty of room for our family of 3 to spread out or be together. Very comfortable beds and nice large couch. Will definitely consider staying here on my next trip to visit my Gator.

I was in Gainesville for masterclasses at the music department of U of Florida. This was the PERFECT place to call home while here. Maria provided all we needed in a charming setting. I would definitely come back!

Thank you so much for being such a wonderful guest! It was an absolute pleasure to host you and you are welcome back anytime!
We thought we canceled. We arrived at the rental on 31 July. The appearance was nothing like the online presentation. Also the neighborhood was terrible and we were very uncomfortable. We found somewhere safe to stay. I really feel we should be reimbursed something. For one thing, no cleaning was required. Vrbo should drop this listing.

Roaches, rock stars and no hot water
Proximity to campus was nice, host was very responsive. Thats about where the positives end. The road the house is on appears sketchy, stray cats live under the house across the street, house is DEFINITELY not as pictured. Exterior is cute in the pics, but its faded and looking a bit rough. Interior is very dark, lights dont help much, 3rd bedroom is just that, a bed in a closet. On the surface the home was clean. Those are all things you can absolutely live with. However we had ZERO hot water for the 2 days we were there, we reached out to the host about it but it was never addressed even though we did get a response back. Not luke warm, we showered in ice cold water for 2 days. The neighbor is obviously a rock star in the making because night 1 his band played for hours but thankfully all that noise stopped before dinner time. The second night however the music played until 3am and the houses are so close together you could hear every word and the bass vibrated the walls. It was absolutely horrible. The final straw was coming home from dinner the 2nd night and upon entering the middle bedroom multiple roaches were walking across the floor, as i went to get a paper towel to kill them they scurried across the floor and ran into the wall. There is no baseboards on the walls so who knows how many roaches are actually living in those walls. I would look elsewhere if i were you, I know my family will never be back.
Visited property after family was admitted to Shands.. Property was spectacular upon arrival. There was a slight hiccup when trying to gain access however the host responded quickly and resolved our issue. We were bummed that we weren't able to extend our stay. The experience (quietness, floorplan, neighborhood, supplies, etc.) spoiled my mother. I hope to visit the property again if I am in the area. Cheers!
I visited Gainesville with a few friends, and Maria and her property were amazing. We were in town for a competition It was easy to access find and close to everything that we needed. Looking forward to the next time we have a tournament in Gainesville to stay again.
We loved staying at this downtown Gainesville property. Close enough for a $10 uber to UF Campus on Game Day (AND WE WON) and centrally located to great evening dining (LOVED DRAGONFLY) and Sunday Brunch (LOVED PARAMOUNT GRILL). Would definitely recommend it as a simple alternative for a family to stay while visiting their UF student! Thanks again Maria for everything! House was comfortable and quaint!

In town for the football game. Good location close to several entertainment areas. Had some issues with a malfunctioning lock but the property manager got us in. Overall a good place to stay!
My family enjoyed our stay in this quaint home. We were close to restaurants and attractions like Cade Museum and Depot park. Florida Museum of Natural Museum was a short drive. We had a great time!
This home was beautiful! Love the old house charm and LOVED LOVED the front porch!! Quiet neighborhood and close to everything! Very comfortable beds and cold A/C. We all had a great time, boys were worried at first that it was going to be scary because of their imaginations but what can you expect from three 11 year old boys. Will definitely stay again next time we go to Gainesville!!
