About this property
Pamlico County Lodge on Goose Creek Island! Quiet, relaxing, comfortable stay!
Well appointed lodge in Hobucken, NC. This house is raised and has a front screen porch and rear deck for sitting and enjoying the wooded views. Very quiet setting. The interior is cozy and the kitchen has recently been remodeled. Perfect for a weekend get away or to use as a staging area for your next hunting or fishing adventure on Goose Creek Island North Carolina. Perfect for staying in before your Pamlico Point, Spring Creek, or Campbells Creek Impoundment hunts!
Home is NOT ADA compliant and does not have handicap access. (The ramp pictured does not enter the home.). The location is remote. We recommend getting groceries and toilet paper/paper towels prior to arrival. Oriental and Bayboro are about a 20-30min drive to the nearest grocery store. During warm months mosquitoes and biting flies are also common so we recommend taking insect repellent to use while outside. This is setup to be more of a hunting and fishing lodge. Due to its location on a gravel road in the country some amount of dust in the air is common and insects and insect and wild animals are present in the woods around the property.

Great place for four our annual duck hunt and trout fishing weekend. The house was clean and had everything us guys needed for a great weekend. Plenty of room to get a 20’ boat in and park. Lee was available to answer any questions we had. We plan to book again.
Lee the owner was perfect to work with and very friendly.
We were looking for a lodge to accommodate 3 days of hunting and fishing and this house was perfect. Will definitely stay there again.
Perfect place to stay for your hunting or fishing trips on the island. I’ll be back for sure!

Inaccurate Picture & Description
Most important point was the very quick response from owner in refunding our stay!!! The current picture of the property needs to be updated.
We were unable to stay. The picture of the property clearly showed a ramp to access the property. We arrived and there was no ramp. The ramp was tossed to the side of the property in a pile. The home is more run down than indicated in the description. The kids were looking forward to roasting marshmallows in the fire pit. We would not have been able to use it. It was some cinder block structure that seemed to be used for burning trash. It was full of rubbish, not cleaned out. Its probably a great place for a bunch of guys on a fishing or hunting trip. It is not really appropriate for a quiet weekend getaway for a family with kids.
There is a fence line, shady looking neighbor's on other side. No problems, or issues. House is as stated. 3 bedrooms, no ceiling fans in whole house. 1 t.v. Pets allowed awesome!! The driveway is littered with brown recluse spiders!!! Dont move the rocks, you'll regret it! Over all great place. Your an hour away from attractions. Word of advise, Kennel Beach!! Had dolphins 100yds.away jumping out of water. People were awesome!!
Quite area. Great for getting together with friends and relaxing. House was old but in great shape. There is a yellow dog that will follow you everywhere you walk. If you pet him you have a friend for life. The folks at the marina are very nice.

About the host

I enjoy the area and own another house that I frequently go down and stay in. The area is so great with the people, the outdoors, the water and endless opportunities to explore the inner banks of the Pamlico and Neuse Rivers and Pamlico Sound. I love Goose Creek Island and bought the house as a way to provide other people a place they could come, stay, and enjoy the island too!
Why they chose this property
This property is secluded, already raised on a tall foundation to protect against flood waters and the interior is perfect as a base camp for a nice getaway!
What makes this property unique
It is one of only a handful of locations to stay on Goose Creek Island. Save the drive from New Bern or Washington, NC and stay right on the island with your family/friends or fishing and hunting buddies and have your boat ready to go at one of the local ramps withing 5 minutes of the house.
