Pacific Redwood Hideaway - Pristine forest, luxurious, private and pet friendly
Come and see why guests consistently rate their stays here so highly.
Set among the redwoods on a quiet, one-acre property just outside of Fort Bragg, this is a place designed for comfort, calm, and a bit of space to breathe.
The main house is a two-bedroom, one-bath with an open living area, vaulted ceilings, and skylights that bring in soft natural light throughout the day. There’s a wood stove for cooler evenings, a large sofa for settling in, and a 65" television if you feel like winding down indoors.
Included with every stay is a separate in-law unit with its own kitchenette and bathroom. It’s a flexible setup that works well for families, couples traveling together, or anyone who appreciates a little extra space and privacy.
Outside, the property opens into a clearing surrounded by redwoods, with a fire pit, seating areas, and room to move around. There’s also an enclosed dog run, and the space overall tends to feel quiet, sheltered, and easy to settle into.
It’s a short drive into Fort Bragg and the surrounding parks and coastline, including MacKerricher State Park. Whether you’re here to explore or just spend time on the property, the goal is the same — a stay that feels simple, comfortable, and unhurried.
Weekly and monthly discounts are available for longer stays.

About the host

This rental is run by my wife and I, not a property manager! We take pride in our cleanliness and attention to detail. We always stay up here when the property is vacant and try to improve everything.
Why they chose this property
We purchased this property in March 2021 with the idea of retiring here one day, and we wanted to make sure it would be a great property both short and long term. We couldn't be more delighted to own this heavily forested acre of land with this beautiful, historic house! A famous local woodworker and educator named Jim Krenov once lived here and ran a woodworking summer camp. The first thing we thought when we visited this place was that it felt like a KOA, the perfect blend of nature and the comforts of home. It is surrounded by towering redwoods yet cleared to the south just enough to be wonderfully sunlit (and sometimes moonlit!). We installed a fire pit in the middle of the clearing and find it a wonderful place to congregate on a mild summer evening.
What makes this property unique
Our proximity to Fort Bragg and the wonderful parks/beaches that surround it makes it a great place to base your visit. The "banana belt" effect provided by our beautiful redwood forest blocks wind and is sunny much more often than it isn't. Our neighborhood is very sparsely populated, well maintained and extremely quiet! On days with big surf, you can hear the ocean from our property about a mile and a half away as the bird flies.
