A cozy studio with a beautiful tranquil lakeside location on Lake Rotorua

The Boatshed, a lakefront self-contained studio accommodation, has a vaulted beamed ceiling, a living area, a built-in corner queen bed and a tiled ensuite. The accommodation opens onto a private deck and patio facing the lake. It is a self-contained unit with a microwave, fridge, toaster and electric jug. Continental breakfast provisions are supplied as well as Ginie’s freshly baked goodies. The linens are high quality 100% cotton and are air dried to ensure a restful night’s sleep.

The atmosphere of the studio is relaxing and soothing with antique furniture and a collection of 60-70’s record albums. Underfloor heating provides a cozy comfort during the cooler weather. The outside deck, hot tub and patio area are for your use only. Stroll down to the lake to watch the beautiful sunrise or moonrise. This is perfect for enjoying your first cup of tea or coffee while the beautiful sunrise is directly in front or having a glass of wine watching the evening twilight.

Guests have parking in the carport and a private entrance to the studio.

Lakeside boat house

Exactly what we were looking for. Peaceful location yet close to Rotorua. Loved the home- baked goods and other supplies. Self contained accomodation that ticked all our boxes.

great place to stay

Perfect base for a weekend in Rotorua. Generous bkfast plus little extras much appreciated. Spa on the deck followed by a dip in the lake after a 50km ride was magic. Thanks B&G. Might stay longer next time to appreciate the vinyl !

Slice of paradise

My partner and I stayed 3 nights over the New Year. Everything was perfect, our hosts greeted us with freshly squeezed grapefruit juice after a long drive, the room was stocked with everything we need from cereals, bread, milk, butter, home made banana bread, cheese scones, jams. We felt like we were in our own little oasis. The bed was super comfortable, a great lounge and TV. Our favourite part was the outdoor spa, situated right on the beautiful lake front you couldn't ask for more. We will definitely be back and have told lots of friends and family to stay here when they are in Roturua.

Shula’s Lakehouse

Ginie and Bob are amazing hosts! The boathouse is the perfect little spot for a relaxing weekend getaway. Put on a classic vinyl record, make a cup of coffee and indulge in one of the many delicious pieces of home baking provided. Perfect!

Beautiful place with à super warm welcome

Everything you could possibly want including homemade jams, cakes and biscuits. Undefrloor heating kept us super cosy and the hot pool right on the edge of the lake was amazing. Will deffinatley recomment to others and will come again. Thanks so much for a loveley stay

Nice little place

Had a really good experience, great location and great hosts. Bed is a bit squished in the corner and not the comfiest sleep but not enough to make this not a 5-star location!
