We loved our stay at the lake house! Lauren was a wonderful host and our family greatly enjoyed the paddle boards, walking trails, fishing, hot tub and pool/fuseball tables!
The house was beautiful and well stocked. The property is large, private, but above all just so full of nature that it’s hard to describe. Peaceful lake.
Sparkling clean home with lovely lake views! Our family of 7 adults, 1 baby and 1 puppy had a great time at this property. We kayaked every day on the lake and enjoyed the gorgeous scenery. Property owner was gracious and responsive to questions. Area outside the home had more insect life this summer than I personally anticipated- glad we had bug spray!
A true week's vacation in a slice of paradise just 30 minutes from Perry Sound. Reservation, check-in process and check-out could not have been more simple and effective. Cottage was fitted out as described and suited our needs. Kitchen was perfect for our needs as well. Wifi via Starlink was very good. Dube Lake is small but beautiful, peaceful and provided many hours of family boating and activity time. Our host was always reachable for any questions or issues we had. A wonderful getaway for the whole family!
Lauren and Larry were wonderful hosts and the cottage is fantastic. Already trying to figure out when we can go back. Our 1 year old and 2 pups also loved the property. Frank the turtle was great entertainment as well!
Dont hesitate to book!
Lauren and Larry were fantastic hosts and the cottage and property were flawless.
The check-in was great with Lauren and Larry taking time to show us where everything was and the "cottage" was fully stocked and had everything you need/want for a relaxing stay.
The property was very quiet and the 40 acres were great to enjoy some solitude with my family and even three 15 year olds found they always had something new to do every day for a week.
We highly recommend Lauren and Larry's place and hope to be back soon.
We enjoyed our stay. Very clean residence and has everything you might need for entertainment and cooking. Hosts are very friendly and accommodating people. If you enjoy nature, quiet atmosphere in a comfortable setting, smell of wood you will enjoy it. They have lots of activities (table games, hot tub, sleds in winter, barbecue ..) It’s not easy to find everything you enjoy in one place, so I definitely recommend
The cottage is very well equipped , not only with all of the supplies who could ever think of but also lots of water toys to play with on the tranquil lake. Frank ate all of our fruits and vegetables so we ate a lot of bbq meat all week!
The hikes were fun and we did a lot of exploring. The dog slept very well at night due to all of the activity she had during the day. Thanks for a great trip!
This was the second time we have stayed in this beautiful piece of heaven on Dube lake. The cottage is clean and bright with all the amenities a family could want/need. The property is beautiful. Dog heaven, chewing grass and chasing frogs. Plenty of non-motorized watercraft on a calm quiet lake. Owners, Lauren and Larry, are wonderful. 5/5, would stay again. :)
The drive to the cottage was a beautiful part of the stay. We enjoyed the surrounding towns and the long country roads that took you to and from paradise. The cottage was clean, well stocked, and we all agreed the beds were comfortable. Frank, the turtle, captured many hearts-a fun, unexpected ‘host’! We spent hours on the lake thanks to the paddle boards, canoe, and paddle boat. Cooking and eating for our group was both easy and enjoyable. Lauren was quick to message me and was a warm and helpful host. Thank you!
Property is beautiful, great view, walking path around the lake was well cleared. Serene. Lauren and Larry provided access to paddleboards, paddleboat etc and were very engaging during the orientation to their beautiful cottage. Frank the turtle kept us all well amused. Absence of motorized watercraft was wonderful. Campfires at night were beautiful as well. Thank you Lauren and Larry for offering your beautiful cottage to our family to enjoy for a most wonderful week of making memories.
We had an absolutely amazing time at Lake Dubé! From the get-go, Lauren was super proactive in communicating with us, making sure we had everything we needed well in advance of our stay. On arrival, we found the cottage was stocked with EVERYTHING - all the kitchen stuff we needed (even a pizza stone!), kayaks, paddle boards and a canoe, and the indoor and outdoor fires were already set up with logs and kindling ready to be lit. The cottage is spacious, with amazingly effective A/C (and fire for those infrequent cool/rainy days). The lake is small but without any motorized watercraft is perfectly tranquil for a kayak or canoe. The baby toys, crib and high chair meant we didn’t have to pack much for the infant in our family, while close proximity to a driving range/golf club made granddad happy too. The billards table and darts were tons of fun, and the hot tub was a great way to stay outside even during the couple of nights when the bugs made it less pleasant to go out on the dock (though Lauren has done a great job bug proofing the cottage itself). This was the best stocked cottage we’ve stayed at which speaks to Lauren’s careful touch, and we thoroughly enjoyed the stay - a perfect slice of summer paradise for any age group.
A perfect vacation in a beautiful, peaceful setting
My husband and I and my son, daugther-law , 12 year old grandson and dog stayed for a week at this beautiful property. It was exactly as the pictures showed it. The lake is small but very quiet and so pretty. The swimming off the dock was lovely .My grandson loved the paddle board and kayaks provided. The surrounding forest was perfect for walks with and without the dog. The cottage itself was really well equipped, clean, pretty and very, very comfortable. It was perfect for getting together for family meals, movies and board games and yet had lots of space so that my son and grandson could play Nintendo on one level while the grandparents read and relaxed on another. Lots of fun games and early morning coffee in the hot tub as the sun came up was wonderful. Our hosts were lovely. They met us to walk through the cottage and were available throughout our stay to answer questions. They really could not have been nicer or more helpful. It really was a perfect vacation for everyone in our party, lots to do in a beautiful, peaceful setting. Highly recommended.
Overall a very relaxing and enjoyable vacation for our family of 10 people. The place was clean and had enough room for all of us and our dogs. The cottage was very well equipped and we had a nice getaway in an area we are very familiar with!
The Dube Lakehouse provided a wonderful place for our family to reunite after the pandemic. Great activities for the teens and adults as well as separate sleeping areas that allowed us to get away from each other when needed. Peaceful non-motorized lake and beautiful dock were much appreciated by all. And Frank the turtle provided a lot of entertainment! Thank you Lauren and Larry.
Over the last several years, we have done five different cottage rentals. This one was by far the best to date. Some of the special things that stood out from other rentals:
-Lauren and Larry greet you in person for a full walk-through of the property and make you feel very welcome
-the kitchen is fully stocked with all the condiments you could want and even some food and a fire was laid out in the outdoor fire pit
-the 60-acre property is very private with only three other cottages on the lake, which is small and warm, which makes for great swimming.
-there is a very friendly and tame giant snapping turtle named Frank who will hang out with you while swimming or spending time on the beach or dock, (and who prefers strawberries to raspberries). This is not as scary as it sounds, and was very entertaining
Other smaller points that really helped elevate this week include the 30 min long private hiking trail around the lake, the abundant kayaks, SUPs, canoe and paddle boat for exploring, the large swath of raspberry bushes that provided tasty snacks.
Can't say enough about this beautiful cottage and the wonderful hosts, Lauren and Larry. All of our family members, from ages 26-95, thoroughly enjoyed the location, amenities, privacy and peaceful location. Just like staying in a 5 star hotel. All the toys you could want - paddleboards, kayaks, etc. - and easy hiking trails. Great for dogs too! Highly recommend!
