The inside was well done and clean. Even though the neighbors are close, they were quiet. My husband and I were able to relax in a comfortable setting.
Easy check in. House is located in a cluster of homes. Photos are misleading. Cleanliness was sub par. Linens and towels from previous guests were laying on top of the washer. Wasn’t sure if the linens and towels that we did have were even clean and fresh. Home smelled of alcohol and cigarettes. Good location.

Basement was musty. Washer & dryer full of linens. Not enough linens supplied for number in our party. A microwave would be a great addition. Stove handle is broken. Bathroom sink didn’t drain properly. Hot water stinky. Grass needs cut, though I understand it had been raining. Beds were uncomfortable, though living room was.
You would do well to avoid staying at this property. Shortly after we had settled in to the property, my wife informed me there were mouse droppings under the couch cushions. As we continued our stay, we found more mouse droppings in more places. There were cobwebs throughout the house, mildew stains in the bathroom, and there was mold in the washing machine. We were not left any washcloths for dishes or bathing (although there were dirty dishes left for us to clean), or an iron or iron board (which were advertised to be in the house). Even worse, the shower curtain rod was rolling freely and liable to fall off at any time, and the king bed frame was broken such that we awkwardly sank into the bed, making sleep very difficult. The hosts never attempted to address our concerns during our stay, and acted too busy to take care of any of these issues. This house could be made a decent place to stay, but it seems like the owners have no interest in making that happen.

Nice, except for the Cockroaches
So, let me start with the positives: clean, updated interior, with plenty of bed linens and towels, kcups and laundry detergent/dryer sheets, bottled water, coffee filters (the coffee pot is keurig and basket brew). Can tell someone put in effort to fix it up and make it nice inside. They were also communicative through the vrbo app. Unfortunately, this was not a pleasant experience and I will never stay there again. The first day when my mom turned on the oven, cockroaches ran out on the stovetop, the wall behind, and the floor of the kitchen. When she was sitting in an armchair in the living room, she spotted a cockroach on the arm of the chair and then it jumped onto her shirt. The host was apologetic, sent a handyman to come spray: he opened up the cabinets, the drawers, and just sprayed roach spray on all the dishes, the utensils, etc. I asked for a refund for the remaining days so we could move to a new location, but they only agreed to refund us one day and for the roach spray and traps that I purchased. So we stayed in a roach-infested house for 8 days. Couldn't use the oven/stove, as the roaches would come out immediately (spray & traps did nothing). The location is "okay", but be aware there are quite a few run-down houses (toilets sitting outside, etc) close by. In the house close behind, is a German shepherd that will run out and bark at you (was always on a lead, but it was very startling for me and my children each time).

Some things to consider..
My friends and I were attending a wedding in Harpers Ferry so we decided to stay close by. We picked this properly because it was dog friendly, I brought my golden retriever, which was great.
The house was fine, if you’re just using it to sleep… But there were some issues that we noticed. There was definitely a bug problem, but it’s the summer and humid so there’s not much the property owner could have done, because the AC units are in the windows and not an HVAC.
Like other reviews, the basement was definitely moldy. There was some mold above one of the ceiling fans in the bedroom. The whole house could have used a deep clean in my opinion. Also, if you’re a long haired girly, the water pressure was nonexistent. And you can’t use a blow dryer in the bathroom with lights on because it would flip the breaker.
The real issue was mice in the kitchen, we left early because they were getting into our food. We didn’t even stay our whole trip. I communicated this concern with the host and got an automated message back.
Additionally, part of the cleanup routine before leaving was stripping the beds… Stripping the bed in the main room was kind of disgusting. The mattress protector was all sorts of stains.
Overall, you get what you pay for… It wasn’t very expensive but we would not stay again. 5/10 stars.
Great communication from the host, clean home, easy access.

Lovely country- rustic and low key
We really enjoyed staying in this home. The bedrooms were spacious and clean, living room lovely and kitchen met all our needs (we made breakfast lunch and dinner there). We couldn’t get the wifi to work and owners did not respond to our request for assistance, and the shower was a bit more rustic than we expected but overall we really enjoyed a break in this house. We did bring our own bottled water based on feedback from other renters.
We stayed at this home for 4 nights. It was a very quaint little house, and was suitable for all of our needs. It was in a good location to the things we wanted to do. This is a nice place to visit. I would recommend it to anyone going to Harpers Ferry in the future. We especially liked that it was pet friendly as we were able to bring our dog with us.
Nice house for me and my dogs to use as home base while competing in DockDogs. Quiet location and room for them to stretch. Had friends stop by and viewed fireworks from front porch. The only issue was when I arrived the house was not cool despite the 4 AC units running. I looked and all filters in the units were totally clogged. I cleaned each one and the house immediately cooled down. Other than that the house was a gem. Thank you for a great stay.

The property was "hidden away," but still had neighbors. The neighbors were no bother. Once found the access was easier each time to find. Easy going owner with all amenities needed. Would have been helpful to label if the tap water was drinkable and same with water in the fridge. We used it for the Keurig.
The place was clean as could be, located in a nice general area close to Harper's Ferry, Charles Town, Hillsborough etc. We had a blast checking out all the surrounding areas. The communication was perfect with the owner/listing agent. The only issue with the place was the shower. There was absolutely no pressure and there definitely is a scent from the water. Plenty of space for a family to go to or whoever they just need to address that shower issue.

We cut our stay short
Property is NOT easy to access, and is near nothing of convenience. Water smelled like rotten eggs, no water pressure. All the bedrooms and bathroom were on a terrible downhill slope...showering was an adventure! The renovations were of terrible quality. Photos do this place more justice than reality and make the space seem more spacious (I am 5'4 and could touch the ceiling). The house was clean, but clearly there were recent guests that had smoked indoors.
We opted to drive home a day early.

Nice location, cute and comfy
The property was cute and comfy, overall. Beamer Lane is a very narrow dirt road but the property driveway is paved. We preferred drinking bottled water and using to brush our teeth as the tap water was undesirable. Be cautious in the shower as it was very slippery, a bath mat would be recommended. The internet was down the entire stay which meant there was no TV. My biggest complaint is that the owner was non communicative before and during the stay. I sent a total of 3 messages that were never answered by the owner. The phone number on the profile needs to be updated as it is for someone that is no longer associated with the property and the maintenance line provided by the owner was of no help.
Here are some safety we found, a ramp would have been helpful for my 91 yr old mother, the bathroom shower is extremely slippery. The tolet need to be secued to the floor and facet is not centered to sink. Inside door mats at entry would have been nice since it was rainy and muddy. Decor was nice and kitche4n well stocked.
Another concern was when we went into Harpers Ferry my mother wanted to stay back and saw someone enter house unannounced. Even if owner thought no one was home (assuming it was the owner) its not appropriate and I noticed laundry basket missing in basement.
Thank you for this review. Glad you were able to have family time.

Harpers Ferry Family Getaway
Good location, plenty of towels, cleaning products, dishes/silverware/pans, lots of water supplied(much needed and appreciated due to sulphur smelling tap), keurig and pods galore. Comfy beds and adequate space for a family of five and pups.

Thank you for the review. We have a new water filter system that is removing the sulfur smell, so that will be much better for future guests.
The house was a very nice and clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our break from work. Visited Harper's Ferry one day to see the museums and shops. Great time!

This is a cute home that is clean and safe. The property owner was quick to respond. The beds were clean and comfortable and there were plenty of towels and dishes. The one complaint we had was the water. The water had a very strong sulfer odor. So much so that we chose to purchase bottles water for everything including brushing our teeth and making coffee. It's a good to know thing, bring bottled water.
