The property is ideally located to a day trip to the great sand dunes, a leasurily hike in the woods or conquering 14ers. We will be back to relax some more!
The accommodations were wonderful with so many thoughtful little touches, like couch blankets, coffee and toiletries. Plenty of towels and a great kitchen with pretty much everything you could possibly need. The landscaping was fun and if you lay on the front porch at night, you get an unbelievable view of the active night sky. The back patio was great for morning coffee and spending time with my kids, who loved the yard! The beds were comfy with plenty of pillows and blankets. We could not have asked for more.
My partner and I visited Crestone just as the fall leaves were beginning to peak. This beautiful A-frame was more than we could have asked for! Everything from the cleanliness of the property to the comfortable decor was a delight in a "home away from home." Also, the yard made for a lovely way to start each day in a recliner and enjoy the mountain views over a cup of coffee.
A great all around stay if you are looking for a great place to unwind from it all. If you are in the area, you won't find a more charming accomodation.
Bonus: Make sure to check out the huge black night sky from the patio!
The house was quite charming and served its purpose well. I appreciated the full-size, programmable coffee pot! While most of our days were spent out and about exploring and sightseeing, it was nice to return back to such a cozy place. We were, however, disappointed to find the balcony mentioned in the listing was restricted from use. While the view from the backyard was not entirely bad, it would have been better to have had the higher vantage point. We had to take turns in the lounge chair since the second one was on the balcony. The pictures online show the closed door without the "Private" sign. I checked my booking email to see if I had missed anything about the balcony being restricted and nothing was mentioned. Overall, a good stay.
This was a great home base for our hiking trip. Most of the furniture, linens and kitchen supplies seem to be brand new! Wi-Fi was very good. The privacy fence and closing gate made us feel very safe there. Communication was very quick when I had a question. Excellent stay!
This property was perfect for our Sand Dunes Getaway. The home had everything we needed and the location was gorgeous. The mountain views and the adorable town of Crestone were the perfect place for our family. I highly recommend this location as a home base for your family vacation.
