This house was perfect for our stay in Crestone. It was quiet, clean, and had a nicely stocked kitchen for my husband and me. Erin, the host, was responsive to communications. Will reserve again when in Crestone.
We loved our stay! Location was ideal for a variety of adventures, views were gorgeous, and accommodations were pristine. Looking forward to our next visit!
Everything about our stay was superb. Amenities and supplies met our needs perfectly. The house is spacious for two or three people, the outside property is attractive, and the neighborhood is quiet. Last but not least, communicating with the host was easy and prompt.
Wonderful cabin with an amazing view of the mountains and stars. Its remote, but still close to a Dollar General. Check in and communication with host was great.
Such a wonderful place to stay while I was in Crestone! It surpassed my expectations. The host was very communicative and helpful. The property was immaculate and very comfortable. I would definitely book with this host again! Highly recommended. 🤗
Our stay was exactly what we hoped it would. The cabin was very clean, handicap accessible, with lots of space and an abundance of light. The Mountain View was amazing and the stars at night were spectacular. The best part of our stay was the quiet. Only the breeze in the trees and the birds singing. Thank you so much!
Our dog is terrified of fireworks, so we wanted to book someplace where there wouldn't be folks blowing up the neighborhood all weekend - this fit the bill quite nicely. The cabin was plenty spacious for my husband and I, with our dogs, the bed had a comfy memory foam mattress, kitchen small but clean and had everything we needed to make some easy dinners during our stay, table was plenty large enough to play board games - there were even supplies for the dogs! The host setting out bug spray turned out to be a blessing - the mosquitos up there are no joke! If you are looking for a quiet stay in a dark-night area to enjoy the quiet and some stargazing - this is a good spot.
We had a wonderful get away! The property is insanely quiet and the dark sky community allows for incredible star gazing. Highly recommend for when you want to get away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy nature. So many deer!!!
I thoroughly enjoyed my 5 days over Christmas in this modern, well-equipped cottage just minutes from the charming village of Crestone. It has wonderful views from both sides with lots of deer to enjoy. You can tell when the owners are thoughtful and considerate by the condition of the unit and its small details. This is the nicest rental I’ve experienced by far through VRBO. I would gladly stay here again.
We stayed at the Mountain Retreat for a week with our dog and it was one of the nicest rentals we've ever stayed in. It was clean, comfortable, and beautiful (both indoors and outdoors--the view is a AMAZING!). Erin was easy to communicate with and we had a fantastic stay. The kitchen has all the basics to prepare simple meals and having laundry was huge for us. We did have some issues with the internet for several days of the stay but that was not a huge problem for us. If you are visiting in July bring some high quality bug spray as the mosquitos are FIERCE all day long (but the house has screens so you can still enjoy the fresh mountain air!).
We were able to book this cabin for a birthday trip for my partner and I. The posting and photos sold it short! The area was beautiful and secluded but still close to Crestone and other areas in the valley. The cabin itself was very well appointed with nice linens, a surprisingly amount of kitchen items to cook with, a wonderful supply of coffee and toiletries which was not expected. Additionally there were several books, games and other activities to keep you entertained for the stay when not out on adventures. The location gave the perfect opportunity for star gazing at night. I have not seen that night sky for years and was the best part of being out there. The host was superb and very communicative before and after our booking. There was a small leak that we had discovered when at the cabin in the second day there. She quickly had someone out to look into the issue and made temporary repairs until a full repair could be made after our departure. I really appreciated her communication and help while we were there. There are no issues or recommended changes that need to be made. Of note though for individuals who are not from the area, it is strongly recommended that you have bug spray and long sleeve shirts and pants in the summer months which is dependent on how much water the valley has received. There was some in the cabin when we arrived but we needed much more due to the swarm of mosquitoes. This was an oversight on our part not the host.
Sweet little cabin in an interesting location. The views were spectacular. Wish we had brought our binoculars! Comfy bed, nice kitchen and dining area. Windy and chilly, but sunny for the first part of our week. Cabin was very restful and quiet. Wish there were comfortable patio chairs as we love being outside and it got warmer at the end of the week. No restaurants were open in town when we arrived, despite online info. One opened Wednesday, and others were scheduled to open next week for the summer. The hot springs in the area were great, especially the one in Hooper. It also has wonderful food in the Garden Room. The sand dunes are fun, and huge. Lots of hiking nearby.
