This property is truly beautiful. Rushing water, outdoor deck, hot tub, outdoor grill, indoor fireplace, full kitchen. Just an amazing venue for you to get away to get cooler temperatures in the summertime or amazing foliage in autumn. Five stars all the way.
Damien was extremely helpful and responsive. The house was very clean and just as described. I left my shirt and he mailed it to me at no charge. Recommend this to anyone who wants a peaceful and pleasant get away!
This is a fantastic property! Clean, very well appointed, serene, and beautiful. The creek is fast flowing and fun for a quick plunge. Prompt and friendly service from the property manager and owner whenever we needed anything. Very reasonable owner when requests were made. I highly encourage you to reach out to Damien if you have any questions or concerns before or during your booking. The gas fireplace is super easy and enjoyable. The hot tub is terrific. We did two hiking trails nearby, one within walking distance and one only about a mile away. Both were beautiful and highly recommended. Both were in the guide provided which was very useful. Several whitewater rafting options are nearby, we did the Nantahala with Carolina Outfitters (self guided) and had a great time. It’s 45 minutes away but a beautiful drive up the same road the house is on and you're basically there. The only thing I didn't realize is that while the loft has two very comfy futons to sleep on, it is an area that others staying with you have to pass through. The two upstairs bedrooms and the bathroom are off of the loft area, so if someone sleeps there they need to be ok with that. It wasn’t a problem for us, just something to be aware of.
We so enjoyed your beautiful and comfortable home! It had everything we needed and more. The water flowing over the rocks in the creek was exceptionally peaceful. The location was perfect, and we enjoyed all the sights in the area ... including Nantahala Lake and a trip to the Highlands. We'll definitely be back!
Absolutely wonderful setting with a gorgeous set of windows in the living room. The owner was so responsive and quick to help! The only suggestion we would make to improve the stay would be a new mattress for the master bedroom. Overall, we would highly recommend others to stay here too.
We absolutely loved our stay. The house is so comfortable and inviting- the couch just calls you to come chill out and relax! The girls were out in the river even in the cold just being kids! We have found some great areas to explore nearby and love the peace and tranquility of this spot- our family can't wait to return. The hosts were extremely responsive and the house had everything we needed and more. If you are looking for a great place to relax and get close to nature this is the perfect spot. Thank you for a great stay and can't wait to come back soon!
This was way above of what I was expecting. Beautiful location. Awesome host very easy to get a hold off and super friendly. Would recommend to anyone. We would we back to spend more time. Loved it. Thanks
Overall experience was so good with the cozy home and the amenities provided. Surrounded by natures beauty and listening to stream sound brings in peace & serenity which would be what everyone needs during a vacation. We wish we could have come during spring or summer to make much use of the stream, but will look forward next time. Improvement suggestions would be to add mitten in kitchen, cleaning outdoor grill, new kitchen sponge and some games for children
If you are looking for a peaceful relaxing place with lovely surroundings, this is your place.
If you need good WiFi to do work, this is not your place.
Cell service is non existent so keep that in mind.
The house is very clean. The gas grill only heats to 350 though.
The ceeek is delightful, and refreshing. We loved sitting by the creek drinking wine.
The master bedroom has no furniture besides the bed so,it was difficult to unpack and had to,put the suitcase on the floor. I have bad back so it was inconvenient to bend down.
The kitchen is well stocked.
We would rent again if the few suggestions are taken to heart.
It’s a beautiful property overall.
My husband and I took a last-minute trip in celebration of our 43rd wedding anniversary. We were thrilled to find such an amazing property available for our dates. Damien is an excellent host; everything is communicated clearly and accurately. This beautiful home is decorated in great taste, and it is roomy and comfortable. Although it is not secluded, it feels like it is because of the beautiful tree canopies--even in the winter months! We did not see another house or hear any people during our stay. It is located right on Wayah Road, which we enjoyed because of convenience to Franklin and Highlands, and we were delighted to find Wayah Road also goes along the lovely Nantahala Gorge. And although there was a little traffic -- not much-- we never heard it because the lovely creek can be heard in EVERY ROOM! The owners also provide extras that so many rentals do not; quality linens and better quality paper goods and soaps. The wifi worked just fine for us--we streamed some movies and it never buffered once. And we loved the large master with an extremely comfortable King-Size bed and a lovely little balcony onto which you can open the bedroom door and hear the creek all night. One of the best VRBO rentals we've ever booked, and we will definitely be back! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Great communication with property owners. The windows provided a beautiful view of the picture perfect creek and greenery. Home had everything you would want or need. We definitely want to come back
We had a lovely weekend with friends and three children (ages 4-8). The house was probably one of the best stocked we have rented. Everything was clean and super comfy:-) You can hear the creek from every room in the house, awesome! Great outside areas with beautiful landscaping. Creek was easy to get in and out of with plenty of spots for the kids to play. The well water is great and it was nice not traveling with a case of plastic bottles for once. All of the beds were comfortable and the seven of us had plenty of space. The hosts have everything well thought out and are very quick to respond. Definitely recommend!
The property was located on a nice little creek, with the doors open you could hear the water run. Quite a bucolic retreat, with board games, DVDs and a short down into the town of Franklin. We had an amazing stay.
We had an amazing time. A great place to find the perfect balance between adventure and relaxation. The hiking up the road is fabulous. I could hike that 5 more times before I would want to go further down the road to the next awesome trail. Don’t forget to submerge yourself in the fresh cold creek!
Tranquil location. Creek running beside the property was very relaxing to listen to and watch. We spent most of our time on the deck overlooking the creek. This area is very secluded and perfect for getting away from "the real world". There was some damage to the deck from trees that had fallen. I was a little disappointed in dealing with the damage considering the price that I paid for the unit, but I would definitely stay there again. The unit was very clean and had everything we needed.
Again - very unique property/location!

Why they chose this property
Rushing water from the creek makes Creekside Basecamp a very special place to stay. Listen to it and feel at one with nature. Watch it flowing all day and all night. Step into it and feel alive. The interior of the home is nicely remodeled and the beds are very comfortable. All rooms are spacious. We provide bath towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner and cooking items like oil, salt, pepper, spices, etc. Make the most of your creekside time in the mountains with large rooms, super-comfy beds, oversized couch and spacious kitchen.
The home is only minutes from the conveniences of a town like Franklin with cafes, shops, supermarkets, yoga & more while giving you the feeling of being in a private oasis.
What makes this property unique
The home sits literally just a few feet away from 2 intersecting creeks that can be enjoyed from the oversized deck or inside the house. The entire Western North Carolina region is famous for outdoor enthusiasts and hiking and hiking trails with waterfalls are right across the street from the house. US Forest Service borders the property on 2 sides. Sonos speakers throughout the house are connected to an ipad so you can stream music. Close proximity to all that Western North Carolina has to offer, such as hiking, fishing, lake boating, driving, gem mining, golf, exploring and taking a breath of fresh air.
