About this property
Way Up Acres and Lodging
*** WE ARE PET FRIENDLY BUT THERE IS A PET FEE ***
Way Up Acres is a 50-acre farm/homestead. We have farm animals that you will fall in love with and a lot of area to go hiking if you like to. The stars and fireflies are amazing at night. Beautiful views all around. If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, then this is the place for you. This rustic cabin comes with a queen size bed. There is electric to the site but no water. There is a bath house in close proximity to the cabin for our guests to use. We provide bed linens only. This is for 2 guests but could accommodate 2 small children also in the sleeping loft. Children in loft should be no more than 200lbs total and will need to bring sleeping bags or mat. You need to bring your own towels and soap. The cabin site has a fire ring, picnic table, tv with dvd player and ac. While you are here you can say Hi to all our farm animals and watch them play. Relax and unwind from everything here. Enjoy the beautiful views all around and connect with nature. There is a pool on the premises that will be open from May - Sept. Towels will be available at the bath house. Our Cafe and Marketplace are next door in the big metal building. Come grab a bite to eat and shop. Moncove Lake State Park is about 10 minutes away where you can fish, and kayak and they have a community swimming pool. We are close to Humpback bridge, Cheese n more store, bakery, Hanging rock observatory, Jefferson National Forrest, Greenbrier State Forrest, Falling Springs Falls, caverns and more. We are about 10 mins to a very small town with grocery store and about 45 mins to Lewisburg which is voted best small town in USA where there is more shopping and bigger stores along with antique stores.
**** There is a propane heater in cabin for the cool months only. Please supervise children at all times and make sure it is turned off when gone ****

I had a very relaxing and wonderful time in the cabin ...great place relax and unwind...loved all the animals ...Patches and Boots (the 2 cats ) really are the welcome wagon and they hung out with me most of the time i was there ...great place to just "be"
We enjoyed our stay here. Our adult children and our grandchildren camped at the state park about ten minutes down the road, so it was very convenient. The grandkids really enjoyed feeding all the animals. We would stay here again.
The Blu Bird was an awesome little quaint and peaceful cabin we were blessed to have the pleasure of staying in while visiting WV and attending the state fair. Precious welcoming kitties, beautiful and elegant peacocks and multiple other delightful animals! If ever in Gap Mills please treat yourself to this little piece of WV heaven!Sheri Moore
My husband, myself, and our daughter have stayed here for a few years now on our anniversary. This is the perfect getaway for us. Very peaceful and the owners are wonderful. They've made a lot of changes all for the better. I love the new additions of the market placeand cafe. We had a great time.
We had a great stay overall! The animals were all nice besides the donkey. The market was nice for breakfast and a little shopping. The cabin was a bit chilly the first night as there’s not really insulation but with both heaters going and the fan blowing towards the roof it made it more than comfortable the second night. The hosts were communicative and accommodating. There’s no service up there which could be a plus or negative depending what you’re looking for but there is WiFi available at the bathhouse.
We had such a wonderful night at Way Up Acres! We were greeted by the 2 cutest little kitties when we first arrived. We only spent one night but will definitely be returning in the future. Love all the animals and the quiet setting. Thank you for giving us a comfortable spot to relax during our trip down south.
Very beautiful cozy and perfect setting. Exactly what I was wasntingvabd needing. Listing says it was heated but there was no propane tank connected to the heater. It’s the last week of August/first week of September so it was fine but would have been nice for late night/early morning
We spent a wonderful week-end ! Our tent and bed were very comfortable. And we felt so far from urban life, enjoying the stars in the sky and the melody of a quiet night in the countryside. Besides, the surroundings are beautiful, especially Moncove Lake. We really would like to thank Christine and her family for this experience.
Perfectly situated amidst mountains, clean comfortable & affordable. Hiking Hanging Rock & the trails at Moncove Lake were exhilarating & spectacular! John & Chris's were superb hosts. Thank you! W. Va = holiday dream!!
Best wishes,
