About this property
Charming 2BR Retreat in San Pancho Jungle – Pool, Palapa & Local Art
The Casita Celestial is a 2 bedroom 2 bath that sleeps 4. It is a secluded little home in a lush jungle with its own little pool and palapa (and kitchen and TV and all the comforts of home). It is part of a larger complex called VILLA DE VISTAS. There are stairs to access this property. It is not recommended for those with mobility issues.
- The space -
The Casita is located in a jungle garden which was created and is cared for by Melissa Roberts (a master gardener) and Daniel our caretaker.
Inside the casita you will find:
1. The central room has a complete kitchen, a comfortable sitting area, and a smart tv.
2. To the east is one bedroom suite; it celebrates the sun.
3. To the west is a second; it celebrates the moon.
Through sliding glass doors lies the prime real estate -- the palapa with its dining area, its dipping pool, and some benches for enjoying one another's company.
Down a set of stairs from the Palapa you will find a garden retreat, with sun loungers and a hammock.
Up 1 flight of stairs is a larger pool, which is perfect for young children, even infants, is also comfortable for adults. There is plenty of space for conversation, games, jumping, and splashing.
The CASITA has a small treasure of Mexican arts and crafts. Most notably is a collection of masks and needlework from all over the country.

Electric generator:
Our generator sets us apart from most of our competition. The power grid going down is not uncommon. This is not an issue at our property due to our generator. AC and internet are reliable.
Concierge Services:
Guests connect with our Concierge prior to arrival for support with a variety of services including chef services, ground transportation services, golf cart rental, and activity reservations.
Redundant internet provider:
We have 2 internet service providers, which means if one goes down we have a back up.
Wireless mesh network:
Our extensive internet network allows for fast internet throughout the property.
Check in:
You WILL NOT be able to check in without coordinating with our concierge.
Most doors have touchpads for locks. There are a few that require keys. She will give you key codes, keys, explain various useful details about the home, and answer any questions you may have. Details on coordinating with her are included in our guest guide.
Accessibility:
The property has many steps and is not well designed for people with mobility issues.
Location:
- 1 hour from PVR airport
- 7 minute walk to the beach
- 8 minute drive to the center of San Pancho
- 35 minute walk to center of San Pancho
Parking:
There is plenty of street parking, a parking space, and electric charging for golf carts if you choose to rent one.
Privacy:
Guests have access to the property however, if the The Big House is rented by other guests, they may share pool deck and pool access.
- Other things to note -
Our property is on a hill that rises 200 feet from the level of the sea. Our villa's structures, in a sense, cascade down the hill. Whereas The Big House is entered at street level, the Casita is down the hill and reached by stairs. This property is not recommended for people with mobility issues.

About the host
Hosted by Melissa Roberts
A note from Melissa and Bill Roberts:
We have lived most of our adult life in Middletown, Connecticut, where Melissa was a school social worker and Bill was a clergyman for the first half of his career and a consultant for the second half. In 1979 we built a home on Cape Cod for our family -- we have three sons.
The Cape House was very important to our family, but as the boys grew up, moved away and had children of their own, we decided to sell that house and build a three-home complex in San Pancho to accommodate our expanded family as well as friends and other guests.

Why they chose this property
San Pancho. The Jewel of the Mexican Rivera. The Cultural Center of the State of Nayarit. A charming little Mexican town which has not yet lost its character even as it is undergoing a surge in popularity and development. We are so grateful for the welcome we have received from those who have lived here for generations. But we’re also pleased to be part of an expatriate community that respects the people and the traditions of the Mexicans.
Our guests regularly comment that it is wonderful to be a bit removed from the village. It is quiet here. The primary sounds are the pounding surf, the rustling fronds of the palm trees, and the singing of birds -- some of whom cackle more than they sing.
The property provides a perfect combination of surf and turf, in this case the turf is a jungle.
The CASITA is one of three homes on this property. It is completely separated from the other two, entered by its own stairway or, in the other direction, by a path through a tropical jungle garden. It has its own dipping pool, its own outdoor sitting area, and a large palapa, which ushers sea breezes into the house.
