Classic Colorado Cabin on the Florida River - 20 Minutes to Downtown Durango

NOTE: 4WD/AWD required in winter (December through mid March).

Enjoy end-of-the-road privacy in this quintessential Colorado river cabin located within a 20 minute drive from Durango. In the mountains and on the Florida river, this is a great location as "base camp" while enjoying all that the Durango area has to offer.

It’s all about the riverfront location!  Outside, the wraparound deck is a great place to enjoy morning coffee, relax in the rocking chairs or fish, and it’s a great place to view the starry night skies.  Fall foliage is spectacular with aspen and other seasonal trees surrounding the home, and winter snow creates a unique mountain getaway at this home.

The cabin layout includes the main level with kitchen, living room, dining room and the large deck at river's edge, with both a covered section containing rocking chairs and benches, and an open area with picnic table, BBQ grill chiminea fireplace and steps leading to the lawn and riverbank beyond.  The open living area and deck make a fine gathering place for friends and family.  There is an AC Unit in the upstairs bedroom.

The cabin is not pet friendly - please do not bring pets or emotional service animals.

With Vallecito Lake a 15 minute drive, and Lemon Lake 8 minute drive from the home, you have easy access to robust fishing, boating, and paddle boarding. This home has very limited cell service.

Stay with us and we offer DISCOUNTS on both summer (white water rafting, horseback riding etc.) and winter (ski/snowboard rentals, sleigh rides, snowmobile tours etc.) activities.

Hideaway River Cabin

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Loved the river location. The cabin itself is need of a thorough cleaning and a slight facelift. Even new doormats would help.

The location on the river was beautiful. The kitchen appliances were aged and the downstairs bath is in need of remodel. The living room was comfortable but covered in dust. I would recommend having an information booklet giving instructions on what to do with trash, towels and miscellaneous information about the place. We had a rodent chewing on the dryer vent at 2am trying to get into the house. We have stayed at many vacation rentals and felt this one was overpriced for the condition of the property.

The cabin was great! The location on the river was amazing. The cabin was clean upon arrival. It is a 25 minute drive into Durango, but it’s a beautiful drive. Would stay here again.

Peaceful and relaxing riverfront

This was everything we hoped for and more. We enjoyed truly relaxing mornings with coffee on the porch listening to the river and watching the hummingbirds and blue jays.

Peaceful and serene.Close to Durango but removed enpugh to be so much more restful. Beautiful

Next to the river. Animals around great place to sit and read. Close to towns with great scenic drives available. Telluride, Ouray, Silverton and Mesa Verde are close by. Enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.
