About this property
5 Minutes to Downtown. Steps to Memorial Park. Dog Friendly w/ Fenced Backyard!
NEWLY REMODELED BATHROOM! Mid-Century Modern merges with Colorado Springs casual in this well-equipped, centrally located apartment, close to everything Downtown has to offer. The apartment is available for stays of 30-plus days. We welcome and provide a home-away-from-home for remote workers, digital nomads, traveling medical professionals, Olympic Training Center athletes, house-hunting families, and people who hear about how amazing Colorado Springs is and want to give it a trial run.
Enjoy your very own, private apartment--the entire upper level (1,322 square feet) of this 1959 brick mid-century modern rancher. The bathroom is newly remodeled. The monthly rent accommodates two guests only.
BEDROOMS: Two bedrooms, each with beautifully refinished hardwood floors and large closets. One has a queen-size bed, one has a full-size bed. We provide two complete sets of linens for each bed.
BATHROOMS: Enjoy the newly remodeled full bath and an additional half-bath adjoining one of the bedrooms (the one with the full-size bed). We provide towels, hand towels, and washcloths.
WORKSPACE: Desk and chair in a corner of the living room; we also provide basic office supplies and an erasable whiteboard. The dining table offers a comfortable second workspace.
KITCHEN: Well equipped w/ Bosch appliances: stovetop, dishwasher, wall oven. Large two-door refrigerator with pull-out freezer drawer. Toaster, blender, coffee maker, microwave, Dansk stoneware dishes, Crate & Barrel wine glasses. A wide array of utensils, pots, and pans to assist with great gourmet experiences. I love to cook and know how frustrating it is to rent a furnished apartment with inadequate kitchen utensils!
DINING ROOM: Large rectangular table and 4 chairs.
LAUNDRY: Your own private laundry room downstairs with washer and dryer, iron and ironing board, clothing rack and hangers.
LIVING ROOM: Spacious and bright with beautiful refinished hardwood floors, multiple windows, TV, ceiling fan, sliding glass door to balcony, view of Pikes Peak from the couch.
PARKING: 1 garage space, two offstreet alley parking spaces.
OUTDOOR SPACE: Your own private front balcony and a shared, fenced backyard with your own deck.
HOUSEHOLD SUPPLIES: We supply our guests with trash bags, wastebasket bags, paper towels, cleaning supplies for the kitchen and bathroom, laundry detergent, a starter pack of toilet paper, and a first aid kit. We also provide olive oil and a nice array of spices.
The house is located steps away from Memorial Park and Prospect Lake and close to downtown. At any given time during park operating hours, there are dozens of people in the park exercising and playing games, so please expect sounds of life and not complete silence. If you are outside or have windows open, you can expect to hear cheering, whistles, clapping, yelling, and occasional traffic. That said, with the windows closed you can enjoy peace and quiet as the house is well insulated. Memorial Park offers a skateboard park, the Mark "Pa" Sertich Ice Center with public ice skating and lessons; a velodrome with a bicycle racing track and roller skate racing track where Team USA Olympic athletes train; three baseball/softball fields; 15 football/soccer fields; 12 tennis courts with Tennis Center; and the Memorial Park Recreation Center with an indoor pool, fitness room, social/play room, and swimming lessons.
Walk to Cambio Yoga, located at 1604 Pikes Peak Avenue. In approximately 5 minutes by car, you can be downtown with all of its entertainment offerings: Acacia Park, CityROCK, Warehouse Restaurant and Gallery, Phantom Canyon Brewing Company, Weidner Field, U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Museum, Oskar Blues Grill & Brew, The Rabbit Hole, Jack Quinn's Irish Pub & Restaurant, Denver Biscuit Company, and more.
History buffs will be interested to learn that the house is a few doors down from the former site of Nikola Tesla's experimental station. Be sure to walk over to Memorial Park and see the honorary plaque in his honor. In fact, you can sit on the front balcony and watch tourists and Tesla fans walk over and take selfies at the site.
