Saltbox - Pacific Grove House - Two Blocks to Beach and Downtown!

Ready for a great vacation in “America’s last hometown?” This is it.  You’ll find vintage charm around every corner in this classic Pacific Grove home. The cozy living room (with seating for four) opens to the dining area (with a table that expands to seat 6) and a coffee station (with a Keurig and a drip coffee maker).   Sparkling quartz countertops and a beautiful tile backsplash highlight the kitchen, which includes a four-burner gas range with a griddle, a rolling butcher block island, and a 24” dishwasher. The laundry room is behind the kitchen, along with a full bath with a curved shower.  The light-filled bedroom off the entry has a Queen bed, comfortable reading chair, and an adjoining office with a desk. A narrow stairway leads to the master bedroom (King) and a third guestroom with twin beds. The upstairs bath has a clawfoot tub/shower.   Relax in the sunshine in the Adirondack chairs out front, barbecue out back, stroll to the beach, or head downtown to explore restaurants, cafes, galleries, boutiques, antique shops, and a cinema. We enjoyed the house! Great location for walking down to the beach and trails along the coast, as well as walking up to the shops/restaurants. Saltbox was welcoming, very clean, and tho we needed to call the maintenance number to make the heat work,he was very responsive As older women the stairs to the upper bedrooms were intimidating, and there was a great handrail. Beds very comfy. We recommend a little coffee table in the living room

We loved this house. We used to live in PG, and we wanted location, and this was perfect for us. The downstairs was spread out so we had a bedroom, office space and a nice sized bathroom area. All this was near the kitchen and living room. My daughter stayed upstairs. The kitchen had everything we needed, and lots of space for everything. Don’t expect a view, but the location was ideal. Visitors need to realize that parking is a bit of a challenge here, but we would definitely stay here again,

Location is Wonderful

Saltbox's location is the best part about it. You can walk to Lover's Point, many restaurants and easy access to the coastal trail which we loved. It has some pretty steep stairs that were not ideal for our one year old walker and some very thin walls which was also not ideal for privacy amongst our other guests. Another issue we had was that the toilets didn't flush every time. They would flush if we manually filled the bowl or about every third try to flush.

This small house was the perfect place for our family to gather for 3 days and enjoy the ambience of the Monterey area. The kitchen was well-stocked for cooking, always appreciated, and the neighborhood was quiet. We were even able to always find a parking place nearby on the tiny street.
