The Purple Pelican is a well-stocked, bright and homey bay house located in the gated community of Bay Creek's Marina Villages. This eastern shore home is only a short walk to a private beach where you can relax or go for a dip in the calm waters, perfect for young children. Enjoy the view (especially the sunsets!) of the Chesapeake Bay from the fenced in backyard or the back deck, while lounging in high-backed chairs-- without even leaving the property. The Oyster Farm Seafood Eatery, close to the world-class marina, is only a short walk, bike or golf cart ride where you can enjoy a cocktail or one of the best meals in town.

Guests staying at the Purple Pelican have access to Bay Creek amenities, just minutes away by car of golf cart, which include: The Life Center gym which includes exercise classes, pool and a slide, an additional larger private beach, a nature preserve with walking/biking/jogging trails, fishing ponds, The Coach House Tavern Restaurant as well as planned activities for families and children (trivia night, arts & crafts, etc.).

This vacation home offers a a 1st floor master suite with a king bed and a large bathroom with a walk-in shower and a large jacuzzi tub. The 2nd floor rooms include two queen bedrooms, each with a balcony, a bunk room that sleeps 4 and a jack-and-jill bathroom. There is also a 3rd floor loft with a wet bar, fridge and TV. For family dining, there's an eat-in kitchen dinette that seats 4 as well as a dining room table that accommodates 7; 3 more can be seated at the kitchen counter bar stools.

This is the ideal spot for a family vacation. Downtown Cape Charles is golf cart-friendly and only three blocks south of Marina Villages. (TIP: RENT YOUR GOLF CART IMMEDIATELY UPON BOOKING - they go fast!) In town, you'll find quaint shops, art galleries, bakeries and restaurants -- there's always something to do and there's always time to relax. Enjoy!

Wonderful vacation home

Great location, clean, comfortable, and complete with everything needed to spend a great vacation. Available Bay Creek Resort facility access is a big plus. Host is very responsive. Highly recommended.

Cape Charles 2025

Our stay at the Purple Pelican was wonderful. We were a party of 8, including 4 children all under the age of 5, and there was plenty of room for us all. The beds were comfortable as was all the furnishings in the home. One of the Bay Creek beaches was in walking distance and the sunset-gorgeous!

Another Fun Cape Charles Vacation

We really enjoyed another stay at this property. The house has great views of the bay from the back decks. Another plus is the access to the Bay Creek pool with the slide, which our kids love!

Family vacation July 2025

6 adults and 4 children ages 3 and younger. First time in Cape Charles. Everyone had a great time. House is very well stocked and great location. Loved having access to pool at Bay Creek. We rented a golf cart for the week and used it to go everywhere. Walked to beach by house which was nice for little ones. Fenced in yard is nice too for little ones. No complaints at all. Plan on returning.

Another Great Stay at the Pelican

This is our third stay at the purple pelican. We have always had a great stay, and being in Bay Creek is such a huge plus. Great fishing right out the back door for the kids, and the private beach access and life center make the trip. We have never had a major issue, but the owners have been great and responsive dealing with even minor things. cant wait until next summer!

Fabulous Vacation

We had 6 adults and 3 children 4 years and under. The house was better than expected! It had everything we needed and most importantly was very clean! Great sunset views and a yard that was fenced for the kids! The location was perfect and everyone in Bay Creek was friendly and helpful! The house is on the Marina side of Bay Creek which made it more accessible to the downtown of Cape Charles. We also were able to use the golf side of Bay Creek which was great- pool, beach, golf and a restaurant that delivers to the pool! All in all a 10! Would highly recommend! Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did!

So good we came back

This was our second time at the purple pelican after trying another house in the same neighborhood the year before. Very easy to see why we made the decision to stay here again. Great beach access, fun ping pong table and perfect for our family with 3 kids under 10.

Perfect Vacation Getaway

The property was beautiful. The house was immaculate and so comfortable from the beds and pillows to the furniture. The kitchen was absolutely the best equipped kitchen I've ever been in. Everything you could possibly need was there. The house was very spacious and perfect for a family of eight. We had a wonderful unforgettable family vacation.

Wonderful Week in a Beautiful Home

This property is a home, not a house. Very tastefully furnished, very well equipped with everything you need and exceptionally clean. The location provides beautiful views and close proximity to all the good things in Cape Charles. The use of the Bay Creek Resort amenities is a super plus; we thoroughly enjoyed the pools, nature trails, private beach and Life Center. The host was very helpful and responsive to our inquiries. We are already planning a return trip.

Gorgeous home and views!

We had a wonderful week. The Purple Pelican is hands-down the best we’ve ever stayed at in our 10+ years coming to CC! The decor is beautiful, and there are awesome water views from the back decks and easy beach access. Great Wi-Fi, TV/streaming options, and a fun pong pong table and stereo in the garage. Well equipped kitchen and beach gear, and two bikes with helmets. We loved the access to Bay Creek fitness center as well. Great gym and pool with water slide.

Perfect Family Getaway

The Purple Pelican was a perfect vacation home for us! There was plenty of room for our six adults and four kids to spread out. The kids especially enjoyed the bunk bed room and “crow’s nest,” while the adults loved the sunsets off the back porch. We really appreciated the two bikes, ping pong table and numerous beach chairs available to us. The house was well stocked with everything we could need, and very clean when we arrived. The location was wonderful as it gave us access to Bay Creek’s pools. It was an easy bike ride or golf cart ride to the downtown area and park. Bert was very responsive with any questions or concerns we had. And we look forward to our next visit to the Purple Pelican!

Purple Pelican Is Great

The house is a home, not a rental asset. You can tell the owner stays there-it is fully and functionally equipped. Very clean, spacious and comfortable. Although it is not in the "Historic District" it is right next to it, a short cart ride from everything. (or walk if you want the exercise) We used to stay in the Historic District, but I got tired of the "quaint old houses" that needed minor repairs while you stayed in them: like tightening door knobs that were never tight, faucets the didn't shut off, worn out plug receptacles, tripping over uneven floors and stairs. The Purple Pelican is new construction, a pleasant place to enjoy your vacation. The view from the 3rd floor is super.

Great stay

We stayed at the Purple Pelican the first week of June. The house is fantastic and the location is great. The house has plenty of amenities but the view from the back porch is the best. The real seller for us on this house was access to the private pool and gym over in Bay Creek. It is such a nice pool and a great respite from the beach. The house is a quick walk to the private beach which is nice for sunsets. We prefer renting the golf cart (a must in town) and taking it over to the public beach for all-day beach activities. The grill at the house worked great and we enjoyed borrowing the bikes. The owner was vey responsive to any minor issues that arose. The hose outside broke and he had someone there with a new one the next day. Overall, great property. perfect for the 4 adults and 2 small kids in our group. We will definitely book again, especially for the Bay Creek access and the sunset view from the back porch.

Lovely Stay in Cape Charles

We had a wonderful week in Cape Charles. The Purple Pelican house was lovely. The house was clean and well stocked with everything we needed and more. The house has wonderful sunset views from the back deck and is only a block walk to access a beachfront bay for swimming. The house had plenty of room for our group to spread out and enjoy. The kids loved the ping-pong table and corn-hole set. Having access to Bay Creek’s amenities such as the private beach, swim club and fitness center was an incredible perk. Renting a golf cart for the week was so much fun for the family and made trips into town and over to Bay Creek easy and enjoyable. We want to thank the owners for sharing their home with us. They were very responsive and communicative to any and all questions we had. We are looking forward to another stay at the Purple Pelican in the near future.

Wonderful vacation home

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Purple Pelican. This home is wonderfully laid out, with ample space for family time, and true to it's description and pictures. It was within biking and driving distance to the awesome Bay Creek amenities. Our grandkids loved the pool with a curving slide, beach, biking through their preserve, and game room. The sunsets on the bay from the decks were spectacular. Our host was very responsive to our needs. Great vacation spot!

Relaxing Purple Pelican Stay

My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Purple Pelican. The house was beautiful and the views of the bay were very relaxing. We enjoyed many gorgeous sunsets across the bay from the back porch. The private beach access was just a very short walk around the corner. As a mom of two toddlers, the amenities Bay Creek had to offer made our stay even more enjoyable. Bert was very responsive and offered wonderful information regarding the town of Cape Charles! Book your stay at Purple Pelican you will not regret it!!!

Charming Cape Charles Getaway

The Purple Pelican was the PERFECT spot for our long-awaited family getaway. It was perfect for ALL ages - parents, children, and teens. It was a 1-minute walk to a private beach, 5-minute bike ride to Brown Dog Ice Cream, and a 10-minute golf cart ride to Bay Creek. The house was clean, well stocked, and in a perfect location. The hosts were warm and welcoming.

Family Getaway Week

We enjoyed our location and the home was nicely appointed and clean. We were given clear guidance information to maximize our enjoyment of the area on such things as beaches, pool, gulf carts, bikes and amenities in the community. Would recommend the home to families. We all agreed on another return trip! Multigenerational family. Thank you for lovely accommodations.
