Changes and altitude is a wonderful cabin. Very comfortable with all amenities. Was great for a family gathering. Close to Bryson City and areas around but quiet mountain area. The host provided all the information we needed and instructions and quickly answered any questions. Would highly recommend this for family and friends.

Thank you for the great review. We enjoyed hosting you!
Beautiful location and the cabin was very nice from the cleanliness to the floor plan. We will be staying here again. Lots of room and the wrap around porch with the bear gates makes it easy to enjoy the outside views even when it's raining.
The cabin was beautiful, spacious and had everything we needed. We went with our two daughters, their spouses and our four granddaughters. We had plenty of room. Everyone enjoyed making smores around the firepit and sitting in the rocking chairs on the porches. The hot tub was also very nice. There were lots of board games we enjoyed also. The only downside was the drive to the cabin. The weather was beautiful and dry for our stay, but I would not want to make the drive in snow or rain.

Hi Johnny, thanks for sharing your experience with us. I can tell you the road is maintained in the winter months.
We loved the cabin and the location was wonderful. The property manager checked in regularly by text message to make sure everything was perfect. Check in and out was a breeze.

Hi Greg, thanks for sharing. We hope to have you back.
We loved Changes in Altitude! Our family gathering of senior-aged siblings and spouses enjoyed the hot tub, mountain walks, and the campfire. Having 4.5 bathrooms was a big plus as well. The kitchen was well-equipped, and we all enjoyed the openness of this beautiful home.

Hi Linda, thanks so much for sharing. We hope to have you back!
The house was perfect for our group of 8. We loved everything
The house had 3 master bedrooms with king beds. We played games on the porch and enjoyed the firepit. We had family in several cabins and they all came for dinner. There was plenty of plates and glasses and silverware for everyone. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

Christmas Vacation
The journey to the house from the bottom of the mountain, in the snow was a little scary and we were in a truck. However, the house is beautiful and so was the view. We had a great time.

Thank you Julie - We are so happy you enjoyed the cabin and the awesome view of our mountains - with the snow. Please come back and stay with us again!
Four couples came to Bryson City for the Moonshine Express on the Smoky Mountain Railroad, some waterfall gazing, and time together in a beautiful setting. We loved staying at this home. The layout is perfect for four couples (everyone had their own bathroom). We enjoyed the hot tub and the firepit. We spent a lot of time on the back deck enjoying the view of the mountains. The kitchen was well stocked and there was a Blackstone grill on the deck as well as a regular gas grill. It's a bit of a winding drive from Bryson City, but the setting and the seclusion are worth it.
White Elephant Chritmas party and Family get together
Great. Plenty of rooms, bathrooms, kitchen was well stocked and easy to get around in. Loved the firepit and hot tub.
Needed a TV downstairs, just for emergencies like a rainy day and something to entertain the little ones.
No lights in the stove microwave. Hard to see food when cooking.

Thank you for your feedback.
Thank you for staying with us. It was a pleasure to Host you. We hope you had a great time and made wonderful mountain memories. Please come back and stay with us again.
We did a long girls weekend getaway and Changes in Altitude was more than perfect. It was clean, spacious and provided everything we needed. It was close enough to everything we wanted to do. We went hiking, shopped and ate at some really good restaurants/cafes around Bryson City. We enjoyed the hot tub after a long hike. We cooked hotdogs outside on the firepit and really enjoyed the wrap-around porch. I liked that the tv was located upstairs in the loft. It did not distract those that wanted to enjoy a book or some quiet time by the fire downstairs. We loved that everyone had their own bathroom. My only complaint was the mattresses were rather stiff for my taste. The views were breathtaking! The cabin was located near the top of the mountain and provided spectacular views. It was nice to sit on the porch and enjoy coffee every morning. Will definitely be back!!!
If you are looking for a secluded cabin high up in the mountains, this is a perfect place to stay.
Getting to the cabin is a bit challenging…the drive on the very narrow winding steep road is quite challenging, especially at night (our stay included a performance of “Unto These Hills” in Cherokee and required us to return to the cabin rather late in the evening). There were 3 couples in our party, and the layout of the cabin lended itself very well to accommodating us all with its three bedrooms with private baths. Also, the kitchen is very well stocked with dishes, glasses, and cooking pots, pans, and utensils.
Our biggest complaint (hence the 3-star overall rating) is in that, when paying such a large fee for cleaning serves, the cabin was, at best, only “spot cleaned” when we arrived. Cobwebs hung from light fixtures, the table was so sticky, we had to pull off the table runner and placemats and wash everything down in order to use it. There were other things we noticed as well, mostly small issues; however, when paying a rather large amount to have a place cleaned by a professional service, you expect a better outcome than we found.
That being said, we did have a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay.
FYI….be aware that there is a massive poison ivy vine on the tree directly in front of the porch area.
