Up North Retreat - hot tub - pool table -arcade- sandy oasis- fire pits
Enjoy a beautiful cottage on “Wixom Lake”. If you are not familiar with the area, in May 2020 dams failed changing the landscape. Although there currently is no water this retreat will provide you a unique getaway. Our home sits on one of the “fingers” of Wixom Lake and currently has a small stream running through. There is a ton to enjoy on the property and the surrounding area. 2 bedrooms and 2 full baths, rec room (with a pool table, arcade games, dart board, bar, tv., etc) a sandy oasis, Weber BBQ Grill, indoor Jacuzzi hot tub and a ton more!
Full exclusive use of the home, deck, patio, two fire pits, grill, yard games, dartboard, pool table, arcade games, Xbox, basketball hoop and indoor hot tub. 1 bedroom has a queen bed with attached full bath. 2nd bedroom is a full bed with a single top bunk. The living room has 2 sofa couches that can sleep 4. There is a Jacuzzi brand hot tub in the sun room. All buildings on the property have heat and a/c. Other things to note there is WiFi and four smart TVs (living room, both bedrooms and rec room) ran by Firestick and/or Roku. The indoor hot tub fits two adults. Use of two kayaks are included that can be taken to nearby sites.. **As mentioned, water is not accessible but a natural creek runs through. You will notice in the pictures this water level changes seasonally** We are on a small septic drain field so we ask that guests limit using the hot tub once per day. **Our base rate includes up to 4 guests. To cover additional linens and cleaning, groups of 5 or 6 are welcome for an additional fee of $10 per night per guest.

We had a wonderful stay! The home was exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated for Christmas, which made it feel so cozy and festive. The hosts were incredibly thoughtful and clearly put a lot of care into making sure the house had everything you could possibly need. Everything was well taken care of and exactly as described. We truly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely stay again. Highly recommend!

Cute, clean , quiet get-away. The property is well maintained, inside and out. The cottage was well stocked with all the daily necessities. The game room and yard games kept everyone, especially the kids, entertaining.
The host made access easy. The home was clean. The detached rec room was great. The host was responsive and easy to communicate with. The area is quiet and beautiful. I highly recommend the stay.
Perfect place for a cozy weekend. The weather was not the greatest but the hot tub, rec room, games and TV were all a bonus for family time away from home. We were especially happy to be able to bring our dog.
I was so impressed with this getaway! The place was spotless and full of amenities! I particularly enjoyed the hot tub. I also appreciated the history of the dam break. I am looking forward to returning when the dam is fixed! The game room was also a lot of fun. Even without the waterfront, this was such a great place to stay! The hosts were very accommodating and the late check out was greatly appreciated! I highly recommend booking your getaway here.
My husband and I came here for our 15 year Anniversary. It was a wonderful stay. Very clean and comfortable. The surrounding houses were close but it was very quiet and relaxing. It had most everything you would need for preparing food as well as coffe options. The Jacuzzi tub was just amazing! We used it nearly twice a day the entire time we were there. The game room was a lot of fun for just chilling out.
We were a little dissapointed as we had no way to Kyak since the river is no longer there for the time being as that wasn't indicated on the site. But otherwise we were 100% satisfied and talked about coming back with our kids at some time! We highly recommend!

Thank you for your review and kind things you wrote. We're disappointed with the lake situation as well and excited for its return. We look forward to hosting you again with a repeat discount. We will try to make it more clear within our description that the water is not accessible at this time and more pictures showing the different water levels we get throughout the seasons.
Such a wonderful home and experience! Booked this cottage for three nights for my fiances birthday and did not disappoint. The home was so cozy and clean. The rec room is awesome and very entertaining. The owners go as far as keeping glasses in the freezer for ice cold chilled drinks. I highly recommend this cottage for a nice R&R! Would definitely come back!
My husband and I were in the area visiting our son and his wife and their 3 week old baby. The house was perfect for us. Spacious and well appointed . We stayed in most of the six days we were there and cooked. The kitchen was so well stocked, there wasn’t anything my husband, the chef of the family, needed. We especially loved The Toasted Toad “bar” which was a perfect addition when you’re traveling with an infant and can’t go out to a real bar. Pool table, dart board, TV. We had many memorable nights at the Toasted Toad. Honorable mention goes to the fire pit . Coming from Florida it was nice to have a fire in the middle of the summer. Great time bonding with family.
