In frontline They also have private access from the house to the beach. The apartment with a total size of 140 m2 is located in. 1 Stock and is ideal for family or friends together planning a beach holiday. There are 4 large air-conditioned bedrooms and 2 bathrooms available. Two bedrooms are furnished with double beds. The 3rd and 4th Bedrooms are equipped with a single bed (ing. 2 single beds) and have a wonderful view of the sea. Enjoy already at breakfast on the balcony the magnificent sea view. The bright living-dining area offers a lot of space and has a large dining table with six chairs. The sofas invite you to relax. There are all amenities such as WIFI, satellite TV, air conditioning and cot available. The kitchen is fully equipped. Of course, a dish and washing machine and ironing equipment is available. For the little ones there are different toys in the garden. A diving center, Supermarket, Kafes and other restaurants are located just outside the door. The proximity to the beach makes it the ideal place for those looking for relaxation in the sun, beach and sea.

Lygaria is between Heraklion (18 km) and Rethymnon (60km), directly on the beautiful sandy beach of Crete. In summer the beach is a popular beach where you can borrow chairs and umbrellas. Various water sports are also offered.

The location Lygaria is in winter a very nice place to enjoy the island and you can experience wonderful sunsets.

Amazing apartment on first floor directly on the beach. The kids loved playing on the beach outside and made full use of the indoor, garden and beach toys. We arrived to a massive home cooked meal on the first night and the apartment was fully stocked. We loved the location, on a quiet beach with local restaurants.

This a wonderful apartment ; the balcony views are lovely and the space is big and airy. Amazing stay on a quiet and beautiful beach!

We started writing this review in our heads 3 steps after walking into this home - as we were so impressed from the start. We were greeted by Yani and Poppi, who brought us into the rental space for a tour. We were greeted with delicious snacks, water, and a stocked fridge with milk, juice, and beautiful fruit. The 2 bathrooms are spacious and the 4 bedrooms (2 Queens/2 twins) are lovely! As advertised, we were right on the beach and the view is incredible. The property was comfortable, fully appointed, and on a very quiet beach frequented by locals, as there are no hotels immediately on the beach. The restaurants/cafes on the beach were amazing and just steps away from the house. This is our third vacation on Crete and we are already planning our next visit featuring a stay at this paradise house!

Fantastic!

What a wonderful property! Immaculate and homely, the apartment is spacious and well stocked with everything we could have needed. In our group were four adults and a baby, and the layout of the apartment was perfect. The location is a dream - we sat on the balcony soaking up the sun and the views, listening to the waves gently lapping. The apartment is practically on the beach so we could swim every day. The hosts are a delight and the home cooking which welcomed us was delicious and very generous. We would all book this property again in a heartbeat! What a lovely holiday!

Beautiful!

The home was clean and welcoming. The owner and his parents made us feel like family and greeted us with fruits and more. They were warm and friendly and also the best party folks. We had a wonderful night with dinner together and dancing as we celebrated my upcoming birthday at the time. I love that the home is literally right on the beach; as you open the gate, there it is! Beautiful beach and mountain views from the home's balconies. Not even a few meters to your right are a bunch of restaurants with good food! Lygaria, Crete was perfect for me. I like the village, chill vibes/feelings. I would definitely visit again.

Fantastic hospitality

The apartment is right on the beach and has beautiful views of the sea. It is spacious and equipped with everything we could possibly have needed. Poppy and Yiannis were the most fantastic hosts. When we arrived Poppy had prepared a delicious meal for us and the fridge was stocked with fruit, water and all essentials including wine Throughout our stay Poppy continued to spoil us with some lovely home cooking and brought us fruit on the beach! Yiannis kindly put our sun beds out for us every day and drove us when we needed to go to Heraklion. Poppy, Yiannis and their lovely friends made us feel so welcome and evenings of eating, drinking home produced wine and Greek dancing made our holiday very special! We cannot thank them enough.

Absolutely perfect!

This home truly was perfect! From the second we arrived, we felt so welcome. The owners parents were there to let us in. Popi had prepared a wonderful Greek meal for us, stocked the fridge with groceries and wine for us and showed us all around the home. The house itself is literally steps from the beach. There is a grassy area out front with toys that our children play with. Plenty of room to spread out. All four bedrooms have air conditioning and are spacious. There are several tavernas nearby. The owner had recommended Sirocco so we tried it and loved it so much, we ate there twice! And Popi shared wonderful vegetables from her garden with us and even made us dinner a second night. I would highly recommend this home and cannot wait to go back!

Lost for words, photos didn’t do it justice!!

Wow, my friends and I absolutely had the best time staying at this property. The owners were very thoughtful, helpful and responded to queries very quickly. The apartment is equipped with everything to make it a home from home, including a meal on arrival, that would probably have fed 3 times the amount of people. Wed arrived late a night, so it was a very welcomed sight. The location was just spectacular! A little slice of heaven. Only a 30 minute transfer from the Heraklion airport. Plenty of taxis await to take you there. Hiring a car is a great idea and for those like me were a little hesitant, the roads are easy to navigate and the drivers are very courteous, just pull a little to the side to let them pass if they wish to do so. The apartment is so close to the beach, perfect for nipping in for lunch or forgotten items. There are several restaurants/bars nearby, I mean less than 5 Mins walk. Our favourite was LD Lygaria, everything we had was cooked fresh and very tasty. Apart from the rocket fuel they give you afterwards, Greek Raki, certainly gave you a warm feeling! We thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing stay in Lygaria, beautiful weather, great food, fabulous place to stay and we were very sorry to leave!! We will be back!!

Fantastic Crete Property

First I want to thank Yiannis, Popi, and Zozo for their wonderful hospitality. They made our stay in Crete an extraordinarily special experience. The apartment was clean, spacious, and fully equipped. It has everything you need for a great vacation. The apartment is located on the waterfront in Lygaria beach and just a few steps to a beautiful beach in a secluded cove. There is a beach umbrella and five beach chairs so it was easy to sit on the sun and enjoy the water and the view. The apartment was perfect for our family of five with three adult children. Everyone had their own room so there was plenty of space. The kitchen is fully stocked with plates, silverware, coffee makers, a stove, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer, spices, and all the kitchen essentials to cook a meal. There is also cable TV (with a few channels) and wi-fi. Each bedroom has an air conditioner and two of the bedrooms face a private balcony overlooking the beach. Lygaria is located about 15 miles from the airport in Heraklion and it is an easy drive. There are several restaurants and a store to buy essentials and souvenirs on the waterfront strand in Lygaria beach just steps from the apartment. There was a delicious home-cooked meal in the refrigerator and fruit and wine waiting for us when we arrived which was welcomed after our long trip to Crete from the United States. This was our first trip to Crete and throughout our stay we kept remarking how lucky we were to have chosen such a fantastic property from just the pictures and reviews on VRBO. A tip for vacation planners - I booked the ferry tickets for a day excursion to Santorini before I left home but I wish I hadn't because I could have booked the excursion from Anna at the Supermarket at Lygaria and the price was actually a little less after including the parking in Heraklion and bus tickets/taxi to get from the port in Santorini to town of Thira which is on top of the mountain high above the port. There are many other day excursions available at very reasonable prices. Everyone in my family absolutely loved staying at this property- there were no disappointments whatsoever. The owners, the property and the location are excellent. This was truly a special experience.

Einer der besten Urlaube, die wir je hatten!

Wir sind als Familie gereist, Opa, Tante, Eltern und 2 Kinder (1+4 Jahre). Die Lage des Hauses und die Ausstattung sind absolut perfekt. Der Garten bietet Spielsachen, für das Meer gibt es ein Kanu, was wir mit benutzen durften. Für unseren 4-Jährigen gab es einen großen Schwimmring. Der Blick vom Balkon ist ungaublich, die Bucht ist super zum entspannen und schwimmen. Es gibt viele Restaurants die innerhalb der Saison geöffnet sind und wirklich gutes essen haben. Aber auch Ioannis ist ein super Koch, der uns des öfteren mit leckerein beglückt hat. Auch wir kamen in den Genuss des selbst gebrannten Raki und Wein. Einige Abende saßen wir gemeinsam draußen und haben uns trotz Sprachbarriere gut verstanden. Wir können die Unterkunft absolut empfehlen, hier hat es an nichts gefehlt. Auch die Region ist sehr schön. Es hab einiges zu klettern, viele Ausflugsziele im Umkreis von 30-90 Minuten Entfernung. Ioannis und Poppi sind super flexibel gewesen, so war der Check-In und Check-out für uns ganz entspannt (was natürlich mit vorherigen und nachfolgenden Buchungen zusammenhängt). Wir waren am frühen Morgen angereist und es gab für uns einen bereits gefüllten Kühlschrank und ein warmes Essen frisch gekocht. Danke dafür! Die Zimmer sind gut aufgeteilt, und es gibt ausreichend Bettwäsche und Handtücher, sowie eine Waschmaschine und Wäscheständer. Vielen Dank für die unvergessliche Zeit und diese wunderbare Atmosphäre bei euch!

Un merveilleux séjour en Crète

Nous sommes arrivés tard le soir et là surprise, un repas crétois nous attendait. Tout au long de la semaine Ioannis et Popi nous ont choyé, nous offrant même des cadeaux le soir de notre départ. La situation de la maison est superbe, tout au bord de la mer dans une petite baie. Nous avons pu manger tous les jours sur le balcon. La maison était tout à fait conforme à nos attentes. Les visites d'Arkadi, d'Imbros, de l'île de Spinalonga, les baignades sur les plages du sud et devant la maison, tout était parfait. Un seul bémol, le loueur de voitures à ne pas recommander (Carjet, Carandgo à l'aéroport d'Héraklion). En résumé nous garderons un excellent souvenir de ce séjour et encore un GRAND MERCI à Popi et Yoannis

Super Unterkunft, ganz tolle Gastgeber

Fantastische plek met warme gastvrijheid

Wij hebben hier enorm genoten: in deze prachtige ruime woning, op de eerste verdieping, direct aan het strand. Niet eerder hebben we zo een gastvrijheid meegemaakt als hier; eigenaar Ioannis en zijn vrouw die beneden wonen, hielpen ons ter plaatse. Zoon George hielp ons met al het contact in het Engels. De woning ligt in een kleine maar gezellige baai met een reeks van tavernes en een kleine supermarkt. Parkeren kan op 50 meter van de woning. Het huis is van binnen prachtig. In alle slaapkamers airco, overal WiFi. Op het strand staat een eigen parasol en ligbedden. in het huis zijn alle basis zaken aanwezig, van afwasmiddel tot shampo, van pleisters tot wasmachine. Bij vertrek werden we verrast met een afscheidscadeau. Met pijn in het hart hebben we afscheid genomen van Ioannis en zijn familie, alsof het onze eigen familie is. Amazing Stay!

This was one of the most amazing vacation experiences I have ever had. The beach front condo was comfortable and spacious and very well equipped with pretty much anything we could want or need. The beach is right out the front door and many good restaurants and a small market are just steps away. Although the property was pretty much perfect and was everything we expected, it was our very gracious hosts, Ioannis and Popi, that made this property stand out way above any other I've stayed at. When we got to the condo Popi and Ioannis were waiting for us outside (they live downstairs). They greeted us warmly and Ioannis helped carry our very heavy luggage up the stairs while Popi showed us around. There was all kinds of homemade food waiting for us so we didn't have to worry about what to eat that evening (and for the next 2 days!) and Popi continued to surprize us with her delicious food during our time there. They also had us down for an unexpected and fabulous evening of food and music and dancing during our time there. This evening was hands down one of the best experiences of my life. I will never forget it. I am not a writer and I could never get across how absolutely amazing our time was at Ioannis and Popi's property at Lygeria Beach was. We enjoyed our time there more than we can say and I can't wait to go back. All you can do is experience it for yourself and I suggest you do!!

Wir waren 9 Tage dort und die Wohnung hält, was sie verspricht. Popi und Yanis waren super Gastgeber, uns hat es an nichts gefehlt. Als wir ankamen war der Kühlschrank gefüllt und es stand etwas zum Essen bereit. Der Strand vor der Tür ist ein Luxus - es hat sogar ein Sonnenschirm und Liegen fürs Apartment. Strand vorwiegend mit grobem Sand. Einige Restaurants in Gehdistanz. Einzig mit dem Auto teilweise schwer, ein Parkplatz zu finden (schmale Stassen!) Gerne wieder einmal, Danke!

Beautiful roomy apartment in a fabulous setting

If you are looking for a relaxing holiday by the sea this is the perfect property. It has a large roomy kitchen/lounge/diner but also a table on one of the balconies, four bedrooms and is very well equipped (plenty of towels). From your private entrance you step into the garden, out of the gate and you are on the beach, definitely a wow! Sun loungers and an umbrella are available on the beach for your private use which is very convenient. The owners were extremely welcoming and hospitable, providing us with home cooked food on more than one occasion and inviting us to a great family BBQ. We did not hire a car but used a local taxi firm when we wanted to visited Knossos, the archaeological museum and the Venetian Fort in Heraklion and Water city water park. There are a few bars and local restaurants along the beach which provided good reasonably priced food and a small supermarket to buy essentials. As we didn't hire a car the owners very kindly drove us to a large local supermarket so we could stock up the fridge and freezer when we arrived. They also provided us with home grown produce which was very much appreciated. The water melons were delicious! We loved the Greek hospitality and the friendly locals and will definitely return to Crete again to see more of the island. ευχαριστώ (thank you) George and family for making our stay so enjoyable. A bit of heaven

Cannot rave enough about this place and the hosts. Wonderful location, spotless accommodation, fantastic food steps away. It is an easy 25 minute drive from Heraklion. A perfect place to chill out and frequented by locals not tourists. I almost didn't want to let this secret out.

Nothing left to wish for

Superlatives aren’t enough to express the extreme hospitality we have experienced. The appartment is immaculate, spacious and the location by the beach is just a dream. You ll go around Crete and find that, when you return to your temporary home, you are very lucky to have your stay here. And so, what we did, was only: enjoy. Thank you for this most needed relaxing holiday, it was all we could wish for.

My family’s stay at Ligaria was nothing short of wonderful. From the location, to the view, the accommodations, and hospitality, I couldn’t have asked for a better stay in Crete. My family of 5(4 adults and a 19 month old) was looking for an authentic Greek experience in Crete, and we definitely received that here. When we arrived, we were greeted with a completely stocked fridge (milk, yogurt, wine, fruit, butter, waters, jam, and more). There was also a homemade spanakopita and pasticcio cooked by the owners, and waiting for us in the oven. We had great food experiences all over Greece, but the food cooked lovingly for us was my favorite. Check in was a breeze with the owners living below the very large apartment. The apartment was beautiful, spacious, and fully stocked with essentials (soaps, toilet paper, paper towels, towels, etc.). Everything we needed was already there, making things very easy for our family. The place has a large kitchen and a large comfortable living/tv room with 4 good sized bedrooms, and ample closet space and dressers. The view was fantastic, which makes sense because the place is maybe five steps from the beach. There is a balcony outside the dining area, and from the beach side bedrooms. You wake up in the morning to crashing waves and a wonderful view of the sea and mountains. Breathtaking. There is also a good-sized yard, which we had access to. Our daughter really enjoyed having the yard, and accompanying slide and rocking horse to play on. There was a patio with a large table and chairs that we spent a lot of our evenings on. We really felt at home here, in large part because of the outdoor space. I would be amiss if I didn’t mention the fantastic hospitality of the owners as well. Not only did we have a stocked fridge, and home-cooked meals on more than one occasion here, but they were great hosts in so many other ways. When it rained one day, they took our clothes into town to get dried (they have a washer, and hang dry at the apartment). They treated us to home-made wine, raki, and fruits grown in their garden. They were very helpful to us with questions about the surrounding areas and just all around friendly people. When we return to Crete, there is 100% chance that we will stay here again.

Fantastic!

Our family (3 kids and 3 adults) recently spent one week in this apartment located directly at the beach in Lygaria, and recommend it wholeheartedly! Before our vacation we received many useful tips and detailed information regarding the apartment itself and possible excursions and activities in and around Heraklion. Any questions we had were answered promptly, which made planning very convenient. After a short drive from Heraklion we were warmly received by the owners (an older couple who live downstairs) and some of their family members. The apartment is spacious and comfortable, WIFI works without a hitch (very important to our teenager), there are plenty of towels for bath and beach, and of course, the location is amazing. Only a few meters to the beach (mainly pebbles, although there is some sand). Lounge chairs and a gigantic umbrella were also available for our use. There are several restaurants and a small supermarket within short walking distance. Also at the end of the beach is a diving school. My husband and our eldest went on a snorkeling excursion and enjoyed it very much. The apartment itself is wonderfully equipped with all possible amenities, especially the kitchen. The fridge was already stocked with many groceries, so it was not even necessary to go shopping right away. There was even a warm dinner waiting for us - which was phenomenal. We were treated to homemade delicacies on several occasions (rivaling any restaurant!) and kept supplied with fresh fruits and vegetables. The owners truly showed us Cretan hospitality, making this an unforgettable vacation. We felt very welcome and would love to go there again someday!

Ganz klar 5 Sterne

Wir waren in diesem Jahr für eine Woche in Ligaria in der Ferienwohnung mit 7 Personen (3 Kinder). Die Wohnung ist vom Heraklion Airport leicht zu finden. Fahrtzeit ca. 20 Minuten. Wir hatten vor unserer Ankunft schon alle wichtigen Infos per Mail erhalten. Der Kontakt war da schon sehr angenehm. Es wurden ein Beistellbett und ein Hochstuhl für unsere kleine in die Wohnung gestellt. InLigaria gibt es einen öffentlichen Parkplatz, auf dem wir schon abgeholt worden sind. Vom Parkplatz sind es ca. 2 Minuten zu Fuß. Der Empfang war sehr herzlich und liebevoll. Unsere Erwartungen wurden bei weitem übertroffen. Die Wohnung bietet alles, was man sich wünscht. Eine wirklich komplett ausgestattete Küche, wo nichts fehlte. Wir haben überwiegend selbst gekocht, so dass wir auch vieles genutzt haben. Es gibt guten WLAN Empfang in der ganzen Wohnung. Unglaublich viele Handtücher und Ersatzbettlaken. Es gibt vier komplett eingerichtete Schlafzimmer in der Wohnung mit Klimaanlage. Was wir sehr schön fanden war, dass die Besitzer uns so liebevoll empfangen hatten. Der Kühlschrank war mit allem gefüllt, was das Herz begehrt, es wurde extra für uns gekocht, und es gab Raki. Damit hatten wir nicht gerechnet. Die Besitzer (ein älteres Ehepaar) wohnt im Erdgeschoss und war immer sehr aufmerksam. Die Kinder hatten schnell heraus, dass es unten immer ein Eis, oder etwas anderes gab. Wir wurden mehrmals von Popi bekocht, was grandios geschmeckt hat. Trotzdem hatten wir immer unsere Privatsphäre. Selten haben wir uns im Urlaub so wohl gefühlt. Der Strand ist direkt vor der Tür, so dass wir beim Einschlafen und beim Aufwachen das Meeresrauschen gehört haben. Nur ein paar Meter entfernt sind ein paar Tavernen, Cafés und ein Minmarkt. Wir haben die Tavernen nicht ausprobiert, da entweder Popi oder wir gekocht haben. Zu der Wohnung gehören auch Sonnenliegen und ein großer Sonnenschirm am Strand, so dass wir immer einen guten Platz für uns hatten. Unsere Kinder konnten sich frei und selbstständig in der Gegend bewegen, da direkt vor dem Haus keine Autos fahren. Am Strand sind fast ausschließlich Griechen, was wir auch als sehr positiv empfunden haben. Alles sehr angenehm. Wir können die Unterkunft weiterempfehlen und würden immer wieder dort Urlaub machen.
