The home was amazing! If you ever wanted to feel like a million dollars without spending it, this is the place to stay. It's beautiful and romantic. The view is truly one of the best on the islands, and the small, beautiful courtyard attracted hummingbirds during the day and bird-chirping tree frogs in the evenings (they sound just like birds). We watched iguanas roam the yard and trees below. We also enjoyed the jungle fowl with chicks walking around the yard and all the large deer we encountered along the private road. BTW the privacy was incredible! Regarding the drive to the home, the private road was not bad and relatively flat. You will want a Jeep or Bronco though, because the road is not paved and therefore bumpy. You can bottom out a car if not careful (think old country back road). What can be intimidating if new to the island are the paved roads which have many blind, steep, sharp turns going up and down the mountainsides. It takes some time to become comfortable. We were incredibly thankful for the home's back up generator and automatic transfer switch (the power grid on St John can be iffy). The island had a power outage one night, but Jared warned us ahead of time and also followed up with us to ensure our generator had switched over (which it did). I loved this stunning home and location so much, I had tears in my eyes when I had to leave. You can tell this home is loved and well maintained.
