Creekside Cabin w/ Jacuzzi, Fire Pit, Views and old rustic appeal!
Clemontine’s – Welcome to our new construction home built in the foot print of our grandmothers old home and on family land in gorgeous Western NC. While we couldn’t preserve her house, you will see some aspects of the old homeplace still intact, like the springhouse, the smokehouse, corn crib and the old grapevines still on the property. We also tried to incorporate some materials from the old house as well, an old door for a headboard in the Master bedroom, tin roofing as old barn doors in various places, multiple old chest of drawers, old vanity repurposed, china cabinet repurposed, the old oil drum made a great love seat on the back porch, several other old doors as a coffee table and hall tree, some old windows and various other odds and ends. The home is in a great location in the Fruitland Area of Hendersonville, NC, with close access to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure, Biltmore Estates and Asheville, NC. The home is located near popular apple orchards (Justus Orchard, Stepps Hillcrest Orchard, Grandad's Apples N Such, Nix Pumpkin Patch and many more ) as well as Dupont State Park. So whether you want to get outdoors to hike, fish or Mtn bike, or visit the local breweries/Wineries (Point Lookout and Burntshirt Vineyards) or shops downtown, we hope you will enjoy our little mountain getaway.
The home offers 2 bedrooms and 2 ½ baths. The master suite offers a king size bed and master bath with separate tub and shower with dual vanity. The upstairs loft offers a twin bed and full bath, along with a futon that could be used for sleeping as well. Linens and towels are provided.
The home comes complete with a fully stocked kitchen with new stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops. Dishwasher and coffee maker are available.
A couch and chair round out the living space featuring a 65” TV and gas logs.
Fire pit, pavilion, outdoor seating with Mtn views and a Jacuzzi Hot Tube are your items of choice for relaxing outdoors.

We enjoyed our time here! The house was amazing and everything we needed to make our stay great. We will definitely look when we come to the area again to see if this house is available.
The host was magnificent and accommodating! I feel like everything was thought of to the last detail. Plus, the host was easy to reach whenever needed. This place is beautiful, clean, and peaceful. I would happily recommend this place to anyone!
We had an amazing time staying at your home. My friend and I needed a break from the daily hussle of normal life and this was the perfect place to be. It was so quiet, with birds chirping beautifully in the morning. We loved reading about the history and story of the property. The flowers coming in on the property was a welcoming surprise as well - so cool!
The cabin was perfect. Uniquely decorated and well appointed. The location was close to the town, but the cabin was situated in a very tranquil setting. Our hosts were outstanding and made sure our stay was memorable. We will be back, and can't wait to book our next visit.

Glad you guys enjoyed. Thanks for treating our home like it was your own and leaving it spotless. Looking forward to your return trip. The flower farm should be in full bloom by then.
House was perfect for our four day stay. Pictures match the dwelling. Communication with owners - seamless. Location to Hendersonville, Asheville and other towns made getting around easy. Cleanliness of house was outstanding. Deck sitting and hot-tub were added pleasures. Highly recommend this property for any length of stay.
Cameron has done a fantastic job with this house. It is beautifully updated but he has incorporated several items from his grandmother’s home place. This is the house that I want to build when I retire!

Dan,
Thanks for the kind words and noticing the hidden memories we incorporated throughout the home and property. Hope to host you guys in the future. A few local tri's in the area (Hendersonville/Asheville/Canton) . Check them out and book with us again. Best of Luck!
From the moment we arrived it was all the ad said it would be. A very spacious home. Lots of history about the surrounding yard. It had everything we were looking for. Many thanks to the host for sharing his property with my family. We can't wait for our next adventure.
From the moment we arrived, everything felt welcoming and peaceful. The room was extremely clean and very comfortable, making it easy to relax and feel at home right away. The jacuzzi was absolutely amazing and became one of our favorite parts of the stay—it was the perfect way to unwind and enjoy the moment. We also made great use of the grill, which worked perfectly and added to the experience by allowing us to enjoy meals together as a family. Spending time around the fire pit was truly special; those moments of laughter, conversation, and togetherness are memories we’ll always cherish. What really stood out most was the peaceful setting. It gave us a true home-away-from-home feeling, allowing us to disconnect from the stress of everyday life and just enjoy being present with one another. Every part of our stay was meaningful, and we loved every single moment of it.
We just finished our third visit to Clementine Cabin. Our experience was again restful and relaxing. The cabin is comfy and cozy, well appointed and charmingly decorated. We love sitting in front of the fireplace, watching football or our favorite movies. Close to center town; He
The property is breathtaking. Everything listed about the property is accurate but can not describe the details of the history of the home. The home is AMAZING!!!! I love how they added in some of the older home with the new home. It was relaxing and a very nice home and we will definitely come back to visit.
When we arrived at the property it was better than advertised. It had plenty of space and was private. A perfect location for a getaway weekend. The house was super clean and felt cozy. The amenities on property were all as expected. The owner was very communicative, and we were able to purchase an extra day through communication with the owner. We would definitly stay here again.
Very nice farmhouse. We enjoyed our stay and it was convenient to everything. We visited apple orchards, shopped in Hendersonville and neighboring cities. Went to Burntshirt winery and enjoyed seeing Chimney Rock.
Looking forward to hiking there.
At dusk in this country setting you can enjoy stars and fire flies. The Mountain View’s are beautiful. Looking forward to visiting again.

So glad you enjoyed your trip and we hope to host you in the future.
We came for a short stay and loved this property! The history of pieces of the home were really sweet, all while enjoying a very modern, comfortable home. The property butts up to an apple orchard with Shetland cows! We got to make friends with them and feed the apples in the mornings. In the evenings, a dip in the hot tub while it was chilly outside was heaven!
Close to a few cute downtown areas, this is a great home to stay in if you want to get out of the hustle and bustle, but still be able to get to restaurants and shops.
Are you looking for a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for your family vacation? Look no more!!
The property and home is so beautiful. Sitting on the porch enjoying the weather and listening to the serene sounds of birds was very relaxing. The kids were able to run around the property and loved their loft home. The kitchen was stocked with what you need to feel at home and the jacuzzi was a nice treat after long days of hiking.
Overall, it was wonderful to stay at this cabin in the woods. Our family highly recommendeds it!!!

Anna,
Thanks for the kind words and great review. Glad you guys enjoyed "Clemontine's " and the surrounding area. Hope to host you guys again in the future.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. The property is beautiful and the history of it makes it a true gem. A few FYI’s for future guests - the master toilet seat doesn’t fit the toilet properly, there is no keurig & make sure to bring wall plugs for charging devices as there are no USB ports. Cameron was very prompt to respond to messages and went above and beyond when we had an issue with the hot tub. We would most certainly stay again if visiting the area in the future and highly recommend to others! We had a wonderful vacation and enjoyed our stay very much!

We enjoyed having you guys and glad you enjoyed your stay. Thanks for the quick communication on the jacuzzi and allowing us to fix the problem. The master toilet has also been corrected and thanks for bringing that to our attention along with the other recommendations to make our home more enjoyable.
This farmhouse was the perfect getaway for our 20th anniversary! The new construction had all the amenities of a modern home with the beautiful farm landscape around us (we enjoyed greeting the beautiful horse and mule each morning). The master bedroom and bath was a spacious retreat in itself. The property is about 30 minutes from attractions in Asheville and I suggest a visit to the Stone Ashe Vineyard about a mile away to enjoy a gorgeous view while enjoying a glass of wine. Cameron was a responsive host who provided a great history of the property, homemade apple jam and we even scored some fresh made banana bread from a family member on our way out :) definitely a place to return!

Glad you guys enjoyed and congratulations on 20 yrs. That's Awesome. Hope to host you guys in the future.
My husband and I stayed here for my birthday and our babymoon. The house is absolutely gorgeous! I loved all the rustic details and charm they used throughout the house. I loved that they incorporated items from their grandmothers house to bring character to this new property. The owners hospitality was amazing. They made sure that our stay would be perfect and even left me birthday cake and card in the fridge. They were very attentive to details and I cannot wait to revisit this beautiful home in the future. My favorite part of all was the huge soaking tub in the master bath. The area is quiet and very relaxing. Also there are 2 friendly donkeys and a beautiful horse next door that love the attention of guest. I highly recommend this property for a relaxing getaway!

About the host
Hosted by Cameron Beddingfield
Hi, I'm your host and grew up on this property as a child. This was my grandmothers old home place. We tore it down in the spring of 2020 and built a similar structure right back in its place and closed on the final product in Oct 2021. We tried to incorporate lots of the old history and memories from way back when, browse around and see what you can find. Currently I reside in Lincolnton NC with my wife (Kim) and 4 children: Lizzie 9, Bryce 16, Brooke 18, Breyden 20, and "Silver" the dog, a 3-year-old Aussie Doodle. Once Kim and I become empty nesters we will move back to the property and family land listed here and enjoy God's creation.
If I'm not towing a child to or from school or some sort of ball practice I am usually running, biking or swimming as my hobbies consist of competing in triathlons, swim/run events or any type of individual events that challenge the mind and body; Ironman's, half Ironman's, 100-mile bike rides, etc. I'm self-employed and own Racing Toes Inc, an event timing company that times and host 5k's, 10k's, bike races and any type of endurance event that requires timing. We have been timing events for about 12 years now and prior to Covid we would time about 80+ races a year. I also run a pressure washing business called H2Oooh Mobile Wash. We focus on residential and commercial soft and high pressure washing. I enjoy being outside and staying busy but am looking forward to slowing down in the next few years and enjoying our mountain property at 134 Beddingfield Hill Ln. Thanks for joining us.
Why they chose this property
Why this property? Well, we think new is always nice. This home was finalized in Oct 2021 and was a site built new construction project. We really enjoyed being part of the process and watching the transformation daily. It's kind of a bitter sweet moment. My grandparents Donald and Clemontine Beddingfield established the old home place with about 16 acres back in the 1930's. They had 3 daughters and my dad, Gene. The house was a very rustic farm home and suited its times with an old out house (no plumbing until the late 1980's, a spring house in which they drew water to drink, cooked and cleaned with an old corn crib and smoke house. All still standing today. Several structures were not salvageable like the old chicken coop and wood shed but bring back such fond memories. As kids, we would tromp the land hunting squirrels, digging up crayfish in the spring creek, helping out with the farm animals (chickens, cows, horses, etc.). But the best memory of all is that our entire family would always meet on Sunday after church for a big home cooked meal. Clemontine was the best cook ever. A Sunday lunch would consist of fried chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes, corn bread, desserts and all types of jellies all from the land they tended. We never missed a Sunday lunch as we knew family was all we had and how important that bond was and being together. Although some homemade ice cream helped out a little. You'll understand if you ever had to sit atop that churn. My grandparents farmed and I think my generation is the last to understand all the hard work that truly went into surviving back in those days. Clemontine canned about anything that could be canned out of the garden, she sewed and mended the kids' clothes and quilted blankets and heated the home with wood. I value that generations work ethic. I wanted to honor them by incorporating and preserving some of the history into our new home. You can read more about some that history below.
What makes this property unique
These might not be unique for you but are great reminders for me and my family. As you drive up the drive the old spring house (on the right) should catch your attention and still functions today. Closer to the new house as you park, you should identify the double seater out house (on the left), the smoke house with a repurposed door (white) from the old home straight ahead. Back to your left up on the hill by the grape vines, the corn crib. All these structures were important and used daily for my grandparents. Some items inside are from the old home place too. You will notice that each walk-in closet has an old chest of drawers. The 2 sliding barn doors (master bath and pantry) is the tin from the old roof. Did you notice the master bed's head board and post? How about the (3) old windows scattered throughout the home? The China cabinet in the kitchen and vanity upstairs have been repurposed. The old single bed frame in the upstairs bed room was used by my dad as a child (this has been replaced with a full bed frame and mattress). How about the wine glass holder? Don't forget to relax on the love seat on the back porch. That's the old oil drum used for heating. Last but not least, the rock retaining wall that offers the fire pit and steps that lead up to the grapes and corn crib was built by my dad and I (not masons for sure) but we wanted to utilize the rocks from the old foundation. We just finished up the 16 x 14 outdoor pavilion. We used old barn wood to slat the roof and we think it turned out pretty nice. Our plans for Spring of 2023 is a U Cut Flower Farm in the lower farm acreage by the creek. We just planted about 500 bulbs that will pop in the spring and ordered about 10 pounds of all season flowers to be put in the ground once spring rolls around. So keep checking back in as we continue to grow and make adjustments. Thanks for reading and we hope you find our home at "Clemontine's" as unique as we do.
