Beautiful home -clean and quiet. Hosts were fantastic. Came here to see nature and we were not disappointed- saw deer, eagles, seals, cormorants, starfish. All from our private beach. If you’re looking for a place to unplug and relax this is the one!!

What a stunning property! From the moment we stepped inside, it was obvious that the Bluenose is a very special place. The pictures do not do it justice--every detail is perfect, and the peace and beauty of the surroundings are unmatched. Our hosts were wonderful and so very helpful and responsive as well. Great place on the water

Bob, I wanted to thank you for your hospitality. My family and I stayed at this house for 10 days. The place was very clean and communication with the manager was very easy. I have no complaints and would stay here again.

Restore, recharge in peace

What a stunning location. Morning coffee on the deck. Nighttime stargazing. The home is beautiful and well cared for. Highly recommend a visit to Point Michaud beach, but only if you can drag yourself away from the bliss that is the bluenose house.

Great Place to get away from it all.

We had a great time. We loved the fact that it is so secluded. Great location. The house was clean and comfortable. Just know there is no TV so it's great to get away. The saltwater shower took a little getting use to, but it did the job. Nice hot water. The view from up the loft area was nice. We had a lot of foggy mornings, but the evening view was awesome.

Very nice

The property was beautifully situated with a beautiful view of the water and within driving distance of Cabot Trail and Fort Louisbourg. The house contained totally everything we needed. The only criticisms are the taste of the water (there was a large bottle of pure water), the single shower (bit of an organization for 4 older adults), and the stairs to the beach (still storm damaged so the ladies were unable to get to the beach). Overall we had a wonderful stay. 👍👍 Also enjoyed the wood fireplace. 🔥 Thank you Bob!!

Private, clean, lovely views

This is a lovely home in the woods with a great view through the trees to the water. There is access to the beach as well down a set of stairs. The house worked well for four of us. There is a half bathroom attached to the loft bedroom and a bathroom with a shower on the main level. The beds are much more comfortable than they first appeared to be. I slept very well in this house - although we did have to steal some extra pillows from the bunk room we weren't using. I am always looking for more pillows! The kitchen is well equipped with everything we needed including cutting boards of several sizes, toaster, electric tea kettle, coffee pot. There is no automatic dishwasher but we did not mind. The view from the deck, living area, and loft are great. Loved that there was a set of binoculars in the house so we could watch the birds. There is also a great collection of books in the loft upstairs (mostly in German but several in English), and a small collection of music CD's downstairs which we really enjoyed. This is a lovely home, very clean, very quiet. We really enjoyed our stay. I would definitely consider staying here again if we are ever out that way again.

Great Water Views!

The cottage has wonderful water views, and is cozy and comfortable! We curled up in the loft chairs and enjoyed the view.

Cape Breton

Hurricane Fiona hit Cape Breton during our stay. Bob and his staff made sure that we were safe and had everything we needed, checking in with us several times. House was very nice, view was great, and we’d like to come again without a storm. We still had a great time. Highly recommend.

Wundervolles Haus in wundervoller Umgebung

Wir waren begeistert. Ein helles, lichtes Holzhaus mit einem unsagbaren Blick in den Fjord. Unsere Vermieter waren immer für uns erreichbar und sehr hilfsbereit. Wir hatten eine Autopanne und Robert hat uns an einem Sonntag den Kontakt zu einem Freund hergestellt, der uns auch sofort geholfen hat. Danke an Heidi und Robert.

Perfect getaway

Beautiful location on the water. Perfect launching place for touring Cape Breton or just relaxing. Bob (host) is a wealth of information and can help guide guest to find what they are looking for. Would highly recommend!

Lovely location

This was a great spot to relax and also to explore the lower part of Cape Breton. Bob suggested a great beach just up the road which we visited twice and also made a restaurant recommendation (we did not make it because the deck on the Bluenose was just too enticing around sunset). Very nice place to spend a week!

Beautiful house and lovely view!

Robert was very easy to communicate with. The house was spacious and lovely. We were 4 adults - mom and 3 grown sons. House was well equipped with anything you needed. The view and the deck was spectacular!

Gemütliches Ferienhaus mit grandioser Aussicht

Adler, Robben und Kolibris - man möchte eigentlich den ganzen Tag nur auf der Terrasse oder im Obergeschoss mit Panoramafenstern dieses schönen Ferienhauses sitzen und den Ausblick auf das Meer mit den Inseln genießen. Und Nachts sieht man die Milchstraße, unzählige Sterne und mehr Sternschnuppen als Wünsche … Es gibt aber noch jede Menge zu entdecken, erleben und erwandern in dieser herrlichen Gegend und das Haus bietet einen guten Ausgangspunkt dafür. Und wenn man heimkommt, hat man alles, was man für einen gemütlichen Abend und eine erholsame Nacht braucht. Sehr gut ausgestattete Küche sogar mit Teekanne und Tablett, großer Grill, Essplätze für draußen und drinnen sowie große !! Betten und überall Moskitonetze! Auch die jungen Leute waren mit dem verfügbaren schnellen WLAN sehr glücklich! Wir waren 4 Erwachsene und haben uns eine Woche lang mit viel Platz auf 2 Etagen hier sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Kommunikation mit den deutschsprachigen Besitzern war unkompliziert und sehr nett! Vielen Dank für die schnelle Reaktion auf unsere Wünsche und die guten Tipps! Annett mit Familie aus Deutschland

Paisible avec vue spectaculaire

Vue exceptionnelle sur l’eau et les petites îles environnantes autant de l’extérieur que de l’intérieur de la maison. En une semaine seulement 1 petit bateau moteur, mais plusieurs kayaks. Par contre, l’accès à l’eau depuis la maison est difficile. L’escalier pour s’y rendre est en mauvais état. Le quai qui doit être sur l’eau ne l’est pas et est mal entretenu. Prévoir vos propres embarcations pour profiter du plan d’eau. Pêche aux maquereaux possible en kayak devant le chalet. Pas besoin de permis, mais surveillez les limites. Eau potable mais désagréable au goût. Cruche d’eau de source disponible à l’arrivée mais prévoir en acheter durant votre séjour. Proximité d’une tente (Dôme) offerte en location. Pas un problème si les locataires sont calmes… BBQ était à remplacer… Douche extérieure n’existe plus. L’extérieur de la maison en général manque un peu d’amour mais la personne en charge en est conscient.

Wonderful remote home

The property is very secluded and peaceful. The interior of the home is very beautiful. Accessing the home is slightly challenging due to the condition of the dirt road that goes to the property, but that certainly isn't the owner's fault.

New year’s stay

We enjoyed our sty so much ! The chalet is immaculate clean and to be honest so much nicer then the pictures show. It is so comfortable and cosy , it has everything that you could possibly need . Because we were there for New Years , I cooked a 3 course meal and I had everything I needed there . We took an afternoon walk on the beach and it was awesome , very quiet , private . I would highly recommend this property, you won’t be disappointed! The owners were so great and responded to every question we had to make sure our stay was the best !

My wife and I had a lovely stay at this beautiful property with scenic ocean views in Cape Breton. The house was clean, had everything we needed and the wood stove was a lovely touch on those chilly November evenings!

Gem of a place!

This property was above and beyond. Robert the manager, was always available for questions and ideas, and happy to go out of his way to provide extra information. The house was "eat off the floor" immaculate and had everything and anything you could want or need. We had an amazing week here and would definitely return. This will be a tough act to follow in terms of everything. Robert, thank you for keeping such great care of this place.
