The view was great and the inside of the property was nice. Depending on what you plan to do the location may not be the best. The steps on the deck were not great and the bbq needs some work.

We are disappointed with Tony’s stay. Although he originally booked for 2 guests, he arrived with 4 and only confirmed the extra headcount after we reached out. When we requested the standard additional guest fee, he was displeased. Booking the correct number of guests on VRBO from the start would have been the fair approach. His complaints regarding the grill and the stairs are completely unjustified—no other guests this season have had issues with the BBQ, and our new waterfront stairs with aluminum treads at the end have received consistent praise. Given that he brought family along and the area offers numerous outdoor activities like canoeing, kayaking, biking, and hiking, his dissatisfaction (3 stars) is hard to understand.

Lovely secluded cabin

Beautiful area, and such a very clean place! Gorgeous, private swimming, and a bald eagle visited one afternoon.

Great stay at Bluenose House

The house was just as described and pictured - a clean, updated, bright house overlooking the water. The rooms were spacious and beds comfortable. We were given a house code, so getting in and out was very easy. The hosts were very communicative. We would definitely stay here again.

Great house, waterfront access needs work

The house itself was great, it was clean and had comfortable beds with great decor. The property on the other hand could have been better (uncut grass/weeds, very narrow path down to water and the stairs and dock down to the water was treacherous and dangerous). The view out the windows were spectacular.

Barbara, I am not sure if you know what 3 stars mean for future rentals. We talked together, it was nice to hear that you described yourself and everything easy going. And I did the favour to call key smith without charging since you locked the door of the children's bedroom. I even didn't charge that to you and wrote that before you left your review. Anyway I explained the situation with building supplies here for renewing some steps down to the water. You describe it as treacherous and dangerous which is ridiculous. We are having way older guests even carrying the kayaks down to the water without complains. The grass was cut 10 days before you arrived and due to our Covid infection we did not do it biweekly this time. No empathy at your end, It is what it is. Fortunately we have lots of fun with other guests.

Lovely home with gorgeous views!

A stunningly gorgeous view! We rented in June when the property was surrounded with lupines in full, fragrant bloom. The location is remote, right on the water’s edge and very, very quiet. Comfortable beds! Loved the modern, simple vibe of the decor. From the upstairs loft, we settled into comfy chairs to watch the sun set. Gorgeous. We enjoyed breakfast on the deck with the frequent hummingbirds! Robert is a gracious, helpful and welcoming host. Highly recommend this property!

The cottage itself was lovely. The beds comfortable. The VBROlisting is inaccurate in many ways: no pool no hot tub. There is no potable water so you have to use and replace bottled water. The deck and trail to the waterfront are not well maintained and are unsafe. The grill was rusted. There was a hiking and fire ban in place during our whole stay. The 3km unpaved road to the cottage was so dusty that our cars needed washes after our stay. The owner loves his cottage and has rules to ensure it is not damaged by visitors.

Great place to spend two weeks

We decided to go to NS within a week of leaving. Due to the COVID rules, we knew we would have to isolate for 14 days and Robert's looked like a great place to spend those 14 days with two young kids. Robert was quick to answer our messages and when we mentioned we would need a way to get groceries delivered to his house, he offered. I asked a few days before arrival for an early check-in and he was happy to arrange it. The place was clean and as described when we arrived. Throughout our stay he remained very responsive. We really enjoyed our time walking through the woods and by the ocean, lounging on the deck, and kayaking!

Stunning Comfortable House with lot`s of Privacy

You must have seen this house, it is impossible to describe in words. Find aerial videos on their website capebreton vacations We enjoyed 100% privacy and very nice European Style interior (IKEA), solid wood kitchen, maple floors. This is not common on Cape Breton Island. What I need to say: try to find the house listed here as well but BY OWNER (aerial picture with few islands). It is cheaper there.
