There are public restrooms, concessions, and a large play structure for the little ones right on the beach. Guests of all ages will cherish the opportunity to relax by the water; take a kite-boarding lesson or fishing charter; rent water toys. paddle boards and so much more!
We are also located just a block from the Muskegon Lake Channel into Lake Michigan. Our guests can walk on over and enjoy a continuous water parade of sail boats, yachts, ski boats, freighters, cruise ships, the cross-lake ferry, and the Muskegon AquaStar day-cruise ship. For history buffs, the SilverSides WWII submarine is docked on the channel, and guided tours are available to the public. The long channel wall to the lighthouse is also open for the public to walk and enjoy.
Looking for food and fun? The Beach House is a 5-minute walk from The Deck, Muskegon’s favorite restaurant and “fun place to be.” The Deck is located right on the beach and has a fantastic menu and beach bar, with live music almost every night of the week (www.thedeckmkg.com.) A short walk in the other direction is Dockers, another great restaurant that is located in the Harbour Towne Marina, just off Muskegon Lake. It too has a variety of great food and drinks, in addition to live music on the weekends (www.dockersmuskegon.com.)
For more fun, food, and adventures, jump on the free open-air trolley and venture downtown, the home of craft breweries and distilleries, a variety of restaurants, unique shops, and a large open-air farmers’ market. Heritage Landing, an amazing park located on Muskegon Lake, hosts a variety of festivals and concerts, all open to the public. There are three amazing museums downtown, in addition to two restored Victorian homes and carriage houses built by Muskegon lumber barons, with tours detailing Muskegon’s unique history (www.downtownmuskegon.org). For wild rides and good times, Michigan’s Adventure Amusement and Water Park is a 30-minute drive from the beach.
After all that, you will love coming home to the the Beach House for a relaxing night of yard games, deck-sitting and star-gazing.
