Great stay as always
Have stayed at the house several times, but this most recent visit was far and away the easiest stay. Having new digital locks on the doors made accessing the house a breeze. House was clean and comfortable.

Nice Family Home
Nice home with updated kitchen and baths - exterior needs work - porches and patios not maintained, driveway crumbling in a key location, steps to road/dock broken and unsafe. Still, our stay was pleasant, we seemed to have everything we needed and we enjoyed the beautiful lake!

Hello Kimberly, thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay at the Armstrong House. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the updated kitchen and baths, and that you had a pleasant time overall. It’s great to know you appreciated the beautiful lake! We do want to clarify that the dock across the street is not part of the property and is not owned by the owner of Armstrong House. While there is a walking trail around the lake and a few boat docks, they are separate from our rentals. Guests would need to walk down the hill, across the street, and through a grassy area to access the dock. We also appreciate your comments about the exterior maintenance. The road leading to the dock is shared with a few other properties and has some uneven areas, which can be challenging for walking. However, the decks and patios are regularly maintained by the owner, who lives next door and is committed to keeping the rental in good condition.
Thank you once again for sharing your thoughts. We hope to welcome you back for another stay in the future!
The house was perfect and was right by the lake. Had a wonderful view from the living room, a perfect place to drink coffee in the morning and watch wildlife. Definitely had enough space for our large group. Wonderful kitchen with everything we needed. Very clean. Handicap accessible bathroom was very large

Family Vacation July 2024
Many Ants were found throughout the house. There was a lack of garbage bags and other toiletries for a family of 13. The view would have been beautiful but the lawn wasn’t cared for in months, overgrown bushes and trees blocking the view

Upstairs, wonderful views and great entertaining flow! Downstairs needs a little attention.
This is a beautiful property with many lovely areas. The upstairs is comfortable and very well-equipped. The living and kitchen areas are open and flow seamlessly for entertaining. The upstairs communal deck is most pleasant. The downstairs apartment is comfortable and still has a wonderful view, but stocking the kitchen definitely needs some attention: there are lots of pots and pans but not a pot-holder to be found anywhere! There are plenty of dishes and flatware, but no wine glasses...or ANY glassware! The only drinking vessels are coffee cups or plastic tumblers (PLASTIC?! at these prices?). There are also no mixing or serving bowls and cooking utensils are a bit minimal downstairs. Truly a $20-30 trip to WalMart or a dollar store would fix these issues. Also, a second chair for the deck area would be most welcome! That being said, overall, this house has been lovingly and thoughtfully updated and the location & views can't be beat!

Beautiful and truly handicap accessible
There’s nothing better than sitting in a rocking chair on a deck with an amazing view of a beautiful lake. That is what you get with this house. LOVE that it has two full kitchens that are stocked with everything we needed. So thankful for the drawer full of Saran Wrap, aluminum foil and sandwich bags bc guess what we forgot to pack? Plenty of dishes, cups, mugs and silverware. My FIL is in a wheelchair 24/7. He can stand with assist to stretch but otherwise he is in the wheelchair. Trying to find places to stay over the years that provide him what he truly needs to function has been difficult. Just because something is labeled as “handicap accessible” does not mean that it really is. I’m a physical therapist so I know the standards and this house came through. The bedroom is large and spacious with a bed that is actually lower to the floor that alllowed him to easily transfer himself to the bed from his wheelchair. The bathroom since allows him to roll up to and under it easily. The shower has a built in flip down shower seat along with plenty of grab bars to allow him to transfer with my MIL safely. He had his 18” wide wheelchair with him and it fit through the bedroom door (just watch the knuckles). If someone has a wider wheelchair the door into the bedroom would be a barrier. This house met, and exceeded, our expectations and we will definitely be returning. Thank you to the Armstrongs for providing an amazing home that allowed us to vacation in my in laws comfortably!
