A Hidden Gem
What a lovely cottage. Close to everything, but tucked away from the busy streets. Lovely landscaping around the property. Beautifully furnished. Comfy bed is always important & that it was. Nice facing sofas for chatting and chilling after a long day of hiking. Bookcase holds fascinating books. Kitchenette has all you need to make your stay comfortable. This was a Mother, Daughter trip and I was so pleased with the accommodations. Owner is super friendly, and helpful. Very kind and just a genuine soul. We hope to visit again in the future.

Relaxation In Brunswick Maine - 2023
Our stay was wonderful. The cottage is very easy to get to. The host was friendly and accommodating. The cottage has just about every thing you could want. It was clean, the furniture was very comfortable. It is very convenient to the great little downtown area, where you'll find good choices of eateries, really nice gift stores. They have market days on the green, where you'll find all kinds of fresh vegetables, flower and much more. The town itself has a lot of culture. We found that people were very friendly and were happy to help with direction and such. Also, you have the public transportation to get around to other locations rather quickly...like Portland, Freeport, Bath, etc. If you are looking for a place to relax, sight see, enjoy a nice selection of restaurants and some really great cafes', then this location is prime. Oh and you can also visit Bowdoin Collage where you'll find music, art, theater and just a nice campus to stroll. This cottage is within walking distance of all the places I mentioned. Again, I want to say how much we loved the cottage, especially after a full day of touring and site seeing. If you do go, we hope you enjoy it as much as we did. We will visit there again as we love Maine and we just fell in love with Brunswick. S & J Knauss

Very Walkable
Great place to stay in Brunswick. Quiet neighborhood. Easily walk to Bowdoin College, restaurants, grocery store, and the train station. Owners are very friendly and had good suggestions of things to see and do. Brunswick is a wonderful town as it offers plenty of things to do and places to eat without feeling "touristy". Bowdoin campus is beautiful with an incredible art museum.

About the host

We are a couple of art historians who have been fortunate to work and play in two wonderful places: Maine and the South of France, where we have been involved in an archaeological excavation on a medieval site for many years and have enjoyed teaching art history at the University of Maine for decades as well as run a sheep farm for 20 years. We both love the ocean, the small farms, the architectural and historical heritage and the generous and creative people of this region and have worked to help preserve the land and heritage here, and the vibrant and diverse communities around us.

Why they chose this property

After living on a salt-water farm outside town for many years, we moved into town so we could walk to places and enjoy the many cultural riches of the greater Brunswick area in retirement. We have a a delightful guest house and are happy to be able to offer guests many of the same benefits to being in Brunswick that we enjoy.

What makes this property unique

Being able to walk to many places, whether to shop at the farmers' market, or walk to a restaurant for dinner or a drink or café latte is a great advantage. There are aways new things to see at the museums and galleries and it is fun to peruse the two bookstores in town or check out the Cabot Mill Antiques shops. And it is not far in the car to get to beautiful natural settings for great walks, picnics or swimming and places for watching sunsets and star-gazing after dark.
The vibrant city of Portland is close enough to take in the art and fashion scene and going to a show, a concert, or one of the many highly-rated restaurants, and generally enjoying the nightlife there, is very doable from our place.
