This is a charming older home with a lot of character, and we enjoyed many aspects of our stay. However, there are a few things prospective renters should know to determine whether it's the right fit for their group.When we arrived about an hour after check-in, the garage door was open and someone was working on a project in the driveway. This turned out to be DeeDee, the house manager. She was friendly and helpful, but it was a bit unexpected to arrive at a vacation rental and find work still being done on the property.Before DeeDee left, I specifically asked whether the propane tank for the grill was full because we planned to barbecue that evening. A few hours later, when I tried to use the grill, it would not start. After checking, I found the propane tank was empty. Fortunately, I was able to locate a replacement tank in the garage and get everything working, but it was an inconvenience that could have easily been avoided.The biggest consideration for future guests is that this is truly an older home, and some of its original features may not be ideal for everyone. The antique doorknobs caused multiple accidental lock-ins during our stay, which became frustrating and could be especially challenging for families with young children. The basement stairs are also very steep, and the lights were not working during our visit, creating a potential safety concern.We also found the television setup difficult to navigate, which made it harder to relax and unwind in the e
