Located in Lexington, this holiday home is near a water park. Kentucky Horse Park and Kentucky Aviation Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Shillito Park Tennis Center and Cinemark Fayette Mall. Looking to enjoy an event or a game while in town? See what's happening at Keeneland Racing Course or Kroger Field. Discover the area's water adventures with jet skiing and kayaking nearby, or enjoy the great outdoors with cycling and mountain biking.
The house was well-equipped and spacious for our group of 10 adults. There is a deck that was nice to enjoy the evening not shown in pictures. The neighborhood is peaceful and close to everything we needed to enjoy a weekend at Keeneland.
The neighborhood was nice and quiet. The house was good to accommodate our large family and beds were comfortable. It could use a refresher, but we didn’t spend much time there.
The property is in a nice suburban location in lexington. 10-15 min from anywhere host was very thoughtful and let us check in early! Only reason not five stars is the bathrooms were not updated and less than we had for for the price. However would stay again.
Check in was very easy and overall the house was very nice. It is in a very good location in a very nice neighborhood. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything that was needed. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels for everyone. Just a couple of things that could be improved, when the front porch lights were turned on, it tripped the circuits in the powder bath and living room. It was very nice to have a washer and dryer but gasket in the washing machine was moldy and the dryer was missing the lint trap. The shower liner in the main bathroom was moldy.

While we love constructive responses, and are always grateful for great guests who appreciate the value in renting a fully furnished and stocked home, we are a bit confused by guests such as this. Bluegrass Crossing is a beautiful home with all of the conveniences of a home. We, as hosts, actually stay there often ourselves. So we have to comment about the very nice washer and dryer that are not only fully functioning but they are well cared for every week. This guest was treated with care not only being allowed to check in early but after finding a family history heirloom left by our guests, we mailed it to them at our cost, with no thank you afterwards.
Excellent location, plenty of room, responsive owner
My friend locked the door from the knob instead of the electronic lock, the owner was very responsive on how we could get back in. The house is beautiful and the only minor thing on cleaning is dustboards need dusting. Additional supplies like toilet paper and trash bags was limited was our only negative. The neighborhood is very walkable and we walked in the morning and evening. Lovely location. Instructions posted on how to make main hall shower worki might be helpful. For those reading this on the spout where water comes out, pull down will make shower work.
We had a wonderful time at the house.
Beds were super comfortable, plenty of room for all of us. We had a great vacation.
However, a few things could have made it more enjoyable. We had an issue with the kitchen sink not draining on Thanksgiving, Mark did come out on Friday morning & wasn’t able to fix. He stated that he called a plumber, being the holiday no one came out. That was the last I heard from the host. Not having a useable kitchen sink made meal prep extremely difficult. We had to buy disposable dinnerware, & trash bags.
Kitchen drain should have been fixed on
Friday, or even communicate anything on Sat. Shower head in shared bath was nearly impossible to shower with so we switched it out & left the old one under the bathroom sink. Exhausted fan needs to be fixed, not working. House was not cleaned well prior to our arrival (l.e dust on ceiling fans, bathrooms base of toilets, baseboards & vanity lights (had cobwebs) washing machine seal had some black mold (cleaned it as best as we could) They’re fortunate that we treated the house as our own, using a ladle to scoop water from the overflowing dishwasher (a few times a day) had to wash pots & pans in a bowl.
Lastly, we are glad we stayed in Lexington with lots to do in a nice quiet neighborhood.
I sent Mark a message Sunday & still haven’t heard back

Where do we start. Thanksgiving weekend and clogging a sink. . . . As a host we attempted to personally rectify the clogged sink and are actually very surprised that it took as much as it did to remedy the situation. With no plumbers available on a holiday weekend, we understand the frustrations and had no way to do more than we did to fix the issue caused by the guests. In fact a claim has been filed and is getting paid because the guests created a situation that pipes had to be cut and replaced in the basement. Being that the hosts themselves had stayed in the home up to this guest's stay and all plumbing, appliances, air systems, lighting, etc were fully functioning, we were shocked at the plumbing issue in the kitchen but even more so that this guest actually altered the home by purchasing a cheap showerhead and physically replacing the functioning shower head. When the host attempted to put the original shower head back on, it couldn't be done. It was ruined. This home is not only used by many happy guests but it is also used regularly by the host and is kept up to date and functioning. When the host entered this property after this guest finished their stay, the host found a couch and chairs moved to restage the home completely on the main level. If treating a home like it's their own means to this guest that they have the right to use and abuse the property. This host is a host that loves to support gatherings and made this home Thanksgiving ready and even fall decorated for a Thanksgiving stay. To have this kind of an experience with a guest is unpleasant to say the least. We hope that this guest learns to be more respectful with other properties in the future but we would NOT recommend them to any host.
